Questions & Answers

Daniel C : I fit all the criteria for the large 911 but I wear the large 911 currently and it always feels loose and I'm out of room on the straps. Is the medium the answer?JOE S : It's hard to say without seeing you in it. Keep in mind that the Zeagle Classic BC's are modular. So if the waist fits, but the shoulders are too big, you can always switch out the shoulders to a smaller size. Or the other way around. The cummerbund are also adjustable, so if this seems too big, then you can always scale it back using the adjustments on it. If the whole thing seems big, then yes, try a smaller size.
Chris D : Can't decide what to get! Looking at 911, ranger or ranger ltd. Will mainly be used for research but will also be my recreational bc May also consider tech 10 I live in north Western Australia Can someone help guide me?ROBERT M : Also, there are two spaces on either side, between the bladder and pockets, for an SMB or two with finger reals. SMB pockets are available cheap and fit well... you don't even realize they are there until you need them. I would recommend going with stainless steel hardware as they're easier to maintain and match the mounting points of the BCD. Hope this helps and good luck in your purchase, -RobROBERT M : I've owned the 911 for three years now with 200+ dives. For me this is a perfect hybrid between a wing and wrap around style BCD. You get the level plane glide position without sacrificing pocket space. Perfect for instruction as there are several well placed and designed rings and enough pocket space for spare mask, rescue breathing mask and even a small flashlight. Also the additional octo / spare regulator attachment, built into the inflator, has worked well and reduced my number of hoses... a bit restrictive for right head turn movement though. The ripcord weight release system works well, only requiring adjustment every year or so. Overall super high quality material, very tough. I would definitely recommend this BCD.
ali s : can i assemble my zeagle backplate to zeagle 911?ali s : yes, i want to dive with doubles. i think it will be more efficient with backplate? and can i use any of zeagle backplates?GARRETT D : I need a little more info. Are you diving with doubles?DAVID C : They were back ordered at the time I ordered mine and ended up changing to a OMS setup and love it. Don't know the answer for you but I hope they have what you need. SorryJEFFERY A : Yes you can. I've used twin tanks with a back plate on my 911BLAIR A : It's not quite as intuitive as I hoped but it ended up being easier then I expected. There were very limited instruction sets out on the web so I basically took the whole thing apart hoping I could re-thread the bladder through my Zeagle backplate. Turned out it was much easier. Just un-velcro the back pad. Bolt the backplate on and re-velcro the back pad. You have the stretch the back pad out a bit but the velcro on the the Zeagles are so strong it worked out. I've been diving with it for month now with no problems. I have yet to setup doubles and I'm curious to see if the bladder gets in the way with the pressure from the backplate on the other side. The bladder seems out to the side enough and big enough that it should be okay.
Ian T : Interested in your zeagle 911 ... is it possible to get the Medium Straps on a large bc ??Monica s : It is not possible to get medium straps on a large bc, sorry.
Shopper : was wondering what the bcd is like at the surface (wether it has the tendancy to tip you forward etc) as i am trying to determine its practicality for instructor use?ROBERT M : It takes a dive or so to get used to it. At the surface I find it comfortable to maintain a "reclining chair" position. Definitely a good BCD for instruction (I love it!), although you will have to wear an additional weight belt for training beginners as the ripcord weight release system is time consuming to re-thread and should be used only in emergencies. Good luck in your purchase. -RobLeisurePro S : Stable at the surface

One Tough and Comfortable BCD

As a public safety diver, I demand gear that performs flawlessly in the most challenging conditions, and the Zeagle 911 BCD with Ripcord System has proven to be an absolute game-changer. This BCD is not only incredibly comfortable but also provides exceptional stability, which is crucial when conducting operations in limited or zero-visibility environments. The back-inflation design ensures a streamlined profile, making it easier to maneuver underwater, while the 65 lb lift capacity handles all my gear effortlessly. This is very important to me, specially when I use a dry suit. The Ripcord weight system is a standout feature, offering quick and reliable weight release in emergencies, and the multiple D-rings and storage pockets make it easy to carry and access essential tools. The durable 1050-Denier ballistic nylon construction, combined with SOLAS reflective trim, ensures both longevity and high visibility-key factors for safety during work dives. This is one tough BCD. I've used a Zeagle Ranger in the past, and it's lasted me more than 16 years. Believe me, I've put it through the wringer. A big thank you to Scuba.com for their expert guidance in helping me select this outstanding BCD. Their customer service and competitive pricing made the entire process seamless. Whether you're a public safety diver or a recreational diver looking for top-tier performance, the Zeagle 911 BCD is a must-have. It's built to handle the toughest conditions while keeping you comfortable and secure.

Expensive, but worth every dime.

I’ve had the same Zeagle 911 BCD since they first came out. While there’s been a couple of minor changes, they’re insignificant to the operation of this BCD. That’s because Zeagle managed to get it right the first time around. I still love this BCD. I’d purchase another if need be, as this BCD does an exceptional job of distributing the weight of my dive equipment equally. Additionally, I can snug it down so that it fits firm and secure against my body regardless of my body’s orientation in the water. I use it along with a custom tank configuration which uses twin 40’s vice a single 80. This allows me to bring the tank’s center of gravity in closer so that it’s in line with my spine instead of hanging out off my back. I’ve done this because of a prior back and spine injury. Between those tanks sits a pony bottle used as an alternate air source. Both the main and pony tanks feed an air block switch (permanently mounted through the Zeagle’s wide abdominal strap on the right side) which then feeds an Ocean Reef full face mask with integrated regulator. Quick disconnects are used for all hose ends other than that of the duel first stages of my regulators. Although it’s a more complex setup than the norm, it provides me with a much higher level of safety. And I doubt any of it would’ve been possible if not for the extremely robust and versatile nature of Zeagle’s 911 BCD.

The 911 BCD is a back-inflation buoyancy system designed for the public safety diver. Based on the Tech Platform, the 911 with twin buckle front closures, adjustable torso" straps and dual position adjustable sternum strap, all with squeeze-style" side-release buckles. The BCD's air cell provides 65 lbs. (29.48 kg) of lift with its durable 1050-Denier ballistic nylon outer bag with 3M Scotch-Lite trim and urethane inner bladder. This model adds zippered storage pockets over the 36 lbs. (16.33 kg) Ripcord weight pockets, has hose storage pockets on both sides of the bladder, SOLAS reflective tape on the buckles for high visibility, and a split saddle harness. The 911 is also equipped with 20 lbs. (9.72 kg) capacity rear trim weight pockets for stability in the water.

Zeagle's special purpose buoyancy systems have grown out of Zeagle's involvement with various public safety diving agencies and technical divers. Zeagle incorporate features which divers in these highly specialized fields have requested. Attachment of accessories is made easy with 6-stainless-steel D-rings on the vest and 4-D-rings on the shoulders.

The 911 BCD has 11" (27.9 cm) spaced grommets for mounting twin cylinder back-plate so it is compatible with both single-or double-cylinder set-ups. BCD has full lumbar pad for comfort. Articulated shoulders that reduce binding in the underarms and chest area as well as increased freedom of movement all for added comfort and fit.

The 911 BCD comes standard with Zeagle's BX Power Inflator System. The BX Power Inflator makes preventative maintenance easy with its threaded lower mechanism that allows the attachment of a garden hose for fast and easy inner bladder rinsing. The Bx is also connected to a pull dump valve for rapid deflation. Trimming buoyancy in any position is made easy with the additional 2 lower rear over-pressure relief/pull dump valves with pull cords. Zeagle 911 BCD has a dry weight of 9.5 lbs. (4.3 kg). BCD is available in multiple sizes, comes with a low-pressure quick-disconnect hose and is made in the USA.
