XSScuab SMB with Integrated Reel

Stayed wrapped and stowed compared to other brands / models that come unraveled while diving. Nice feature having the reel integrated into the SMB. Improvements I'd suggest would be less line on the reel.It's stuff to the gills and 99% of sport divers deploying a SMB from depth down't need 100' or whatever is on this. 40' - 50' would likely be fine to keep the SMB line taunt and upright as you ascend gradually. Would also like to see metal D-ring on it versus plastic. Plastic will likely hold up for the average diver but over years due to UV and salt might degrade. Metal lasts forever?...

Great design, compact, easy to use

Awesome! I love it! The design is nice, good quality, and iI takes up half the space in my luggage as other DSMBs. Excellent quality. You don't need a bolt clip. The reel is attached to a ring inside, and that's it. I did use a bolt clip and detached it from the ring and to the bolt clip and then clipped it to the ring just to have the option of having the reel separate, but there really is no need to because . It was tall and bright. Make sure that after you rinse it in fresh water and you have dumped all the excess water through the dump valves, you always inflate it and hang in a ventilated shaded area to help it dry before you roll it up and store. To inflate the valve is really easy, simply push down on valve and blow. Release to lock. And then use dump valve to relase all the air.

In answer to a question, the buoy is 6 feet when fully inflated and the reel has 100 feet of line so it can be deployed at depth.

Great product, and conveniently compact

The product has performed flawless for me, and is always nice knowing it's available and at the ready on ever dive. The spool when I received it was full, but as a single unit with a single purpose I didn't mind the spool being wound to the rim. Also gives enough to tie off and mark distances if needed also

I like the compact package with the reel pouch. Keeps it all together until needed. Has a 100 foot finger spool that works great on most dives that I do if I want to send up my dsmb from depth.

Great SMB

This actually comes with a 100ft line. I read conflicting webpages, some advertising this as coming with 50ft of line and some advertising 100ft. Bought this after emailing XS Scuba and was told the original release did come with only 50ft, but all of the newer production smbs come with 100ft. Mine did indeed come with the 100ft, so I would feel confident in expecting to receive a 100ft line. Makes this purchase worthwhile, and I like that the line is pre-attached to the smb.

Great SMB

This actually comes with a 100ft line. I read conflicting webpages, some advertising this as coming with 50ft of line and some advertising 100ft. Bought this after emailing XS Scuba and was told the original release did come with only 50ft, but all of the newer production smbs come with 100ft. Deploying a marker buoy from depth has its challenges. Securing a line spool and SMB, connecting them together, deploying them, all while maintaining neutral buoyancy and holding on to other gear, has overwhelmed many a diver. The Quick Launch Marker Buoy from XS Scuba simplifies the procedure! The line spool is stored within the marker buoy and is already connected to it! Just add air and let it fly. 6' (183cm) in length with a large 12" (30.5cm) circumference provides excellent visibility when deployed on the surface. Lower pocket includes a spool with 50' (15m) of line. Spool line is attached to D-ring inside the pocket. Open bottom with anti-spill baffle. Combination oral and QD hose inflation. Over-pressure relief valve with pull cord. SOLAS reflective tape on both sides increases visibility in low light or night conditions. The Quick Launch Marker Buoy rolls up to a compact size and is secured with a squeeze-style side-release buckle. Buoy is available in multiple colors.
