Questions & Answers

Kirk M : What is the max pressure for this valve?BRIAN H : 3442 (3500) PSI or approximately 240 BARWILLIAM R : 3442 psigJIM P : 3442 + 10%KENT A : The "Working Pressure" is 3442 PSI as labeled right on the valve. I have this valve on all of my steel HP tanks and the burst disc is rated at 5250 PSI. For safety and preserving the integrity of the tank you should strive to never over fill past 3442 PSI. The burst disc pressure is intended to keep the tank from rupturing and exploding like a bomb. The pressure in the tank will vary according to Boyle's Law (pressure and temperature of gases are related). Hope this helps.MICHAEL S : 3442 psiJOSEPH C : It is printed on the neck of the valve. As long as it is the PVD DIN valve, it is 3442 psi.LOUIS R : All valves are different, they are clearly marked, either 3000 or 3443, or higher. Without seeing the valve, it usually is 3000 psi.
Shopper : My o ring went bad. What size for replacment ?Mario C : Thank you for your question and answers. Spoke with the manufacturer that recommends using their own rings on their valve for a proper fit. The oring information provided by them is: XS SCUBA O-RING for PVD pro Valve SKU: VP15 We at the moment do not have it in stock. for further assistance you can contact XS Scuba at: 866.XS.SCUBAKENT A : I took my original oring out and measured it. With about 50 dives on it, it is 0.10 in. thick, 0.688 in. OD, 0.477 in. ID. According to the charts online this is a "112" size (0.103 in. thick, 0.487 in. ID, 0.693 in. OD) A prefix letter in front tells you what it is made of: A112 is Buna Rubber, V112 is Viton, and S112 is Urathane. My LDS sold me a spare oring and after measuring it, I found out it is a S111 which is just a tad smaller than the V112 that the valve came with. Hope this helps.cliff s : Fat most valves come with thin of fat o rings.... you will want the fat ones.
SARAH M : What is the durometer rating of o-rings I need to use for replacements?KENT A : According to the oringsusa website use 90 rated orings on HP scuba tanks. "70 vs. 90: It's all about the hardness or durometer. 90 is harder than 70. 90 can take more pressure than 70, but 70 is softer and supple. So HP and tank necks use 90, and LP uses 70."
Micheil G : Does this come with left and right post for sidemount?ZACK M : NoLouis T : No, only as it is shown.JEFF J : NoRANDAL F : Sorry, I don't know anything about side mount rigs. I can tell you that with the insert you can use either yoke or din regulators. It is a sharp looking and functional valve with minimum turns open to close. I would certainly purchase again.YAN G : No, standard left hand only. We do have modular valves (left and right) that you can use for sidemount: http://www.leisurepro.com/catalog.aspx?op=gcssearch&term=xs+scuba+modular+valves
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?PAUL C : To replace a older valveSETH H : I have two other tanks needing updated valves and I might as well get the PvdDAVID R : good luck with XS productsMICHAEL L : I love this valve quality, hard finish and since I am in salt and freshwater continually, just like how the valve holds up to elements.JUSTIN B : Best scuba valve available.RANDAL F : Because regular stainless was not available. Chose XS scuba because of their reputation.

Perfect Valve.

Love the PVD coating. Easy to clean any mineral, acid rain, calcium, lime scale, and salt build up. One spray of CLR and an old tooth is all you need to make it look sparkling new. No pitting like some valve's that are just chrome plated.

XS Scuba PVD Pro Valve

This is my valve of choice, able to switch between freshwater and salt, DIN or yoke based on needed configuration and these valves take a beating and perform.

Great Valves

I have two of these black XS Scuba valves. The indicator knob is a nice touch, and overall the valves function and look great. My dive shop had no problems putting these in my new HP steel tanks.

Excellent Quality

Excellent quality valve. I liked the safety hand wheel which made it easier for my dive buddy (i.e Wife) to check if the valve is open or closed. The hex wrench size required to removed the insert is different from some of the other makers of valves so I know have to carry only one size hex wrench.

Pro Valve by XS Scuba

Spent the extra money for this valve because the cheaper ones were not in stock. I must say it is pretty though, shines like a diamond in a goats ear. And I do like the valve wheel that shows open/closed with Green and Red visual aids. Easy to tell if the valve is not fully open or closed. The 1 1/2 wheel turns from closed to open is a nice feature as well. Probably the best feature is the ability to use a yoke or din connector. Overall it looks like it will do what it's supposed to and it also looks nice on my tank.

Nice valve

By JEFFREY R.

Looks good. They are a little pricey but I guess they are worth it. I now own 3 of them.

XS Scuba's Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Finish Pro Valve has the same type of long lasting finish you find on expensive faucets, high-end door lock sets and premium watches. PVD is not only a beautiful finish, but is also extremely durable. Before assembly the finished marine grade brass with triple bright chrome plating parts receive the PVD finish process. The parts are placed in a vacuum chamber, where a high power electric arc is discharged at the source material blasting away some into a highly ionized vapor which is deposited on the parts. XS Scuba's black colored PVD finish is accomplished with the use of Titanium Nitride. It provides the following advantages: Significantly harder exterior finish of 250 HV, a coating thickness of 0.2 to 0.3 micrometers, incredible resistance to salt water corrosion, increased scratch resistance and a very cool tech look.

Precision machined from high tension brass and chrome plated the valve stems will give years of service and corrosion free operation. Easy grip soft rubber safety hand wheel with stainless steel insert ensures long life and large ribs make turning handle easy even when wearing gloves. This new unique safety hand wheel allows the diver to visually see if the valve is completely turned on and off with a set of colored rings that appear on the valve side of the hand wheel. If you see only red the valve is off. If you see only green the valve is completely open and ready for diving. This exclusive hand wheel takes the guess work out of knowing your valve is fully open and ready for diving.

Valve bonnets are O-ring sealed. You won't need to crank" on the valve when you open and close it with the 1.5-hand wheel rotation from full-on to fully-off. The valves seat assembly is Teflon coated for years of smooth operation and a one-piece safety plug protected within the valve body guards against damage during transport. The PVD Pro Valve will accommodate both Yoke and DIN regulators with its removable 230 bar (3,336 psi) DIN insert which can be removed using a 1/4" hex key wrench. The Faber HP Series steel cylinders rated up to 3442 psi (240 bars). Valve has a 5/32" hex key dip tube and is Nitrox compatible up to 40%.
