They work fine although this brand stretched out and ripped way sooner than the other neoprene socks I have purchased in the past.JOHN R : I have the xs socks and although it looks like they have a sole it is really just some no slip printing on the bottom - it may stiffen the sock up ever so slightly but not a lot. I have worn over other socks types when using a set of force fins that are a bit to big for my bare foot. I would only use these for flippers that are not meant to be used with booties (open backed) where the rubber is stiff and a bootie is need to really protect the foot and create a good seal with the flipper. 2mm is very thin and due to the low cut can catch water in them. If you have a set of full foot flippers that are a bit big either of these socks might work for you. I would probable pick the less expensive pair since I do not think you will see a big difference and the no slip printing might actually make it harder to get into the flipper.MARCUS H : Hi,

Tracy K : I have diving fins with adjustable heel... i had the 3mm zipper dive booties.. but am looking for something much shorter as the booties are tight on the ankle... wear a women's size 9 shoe, first is this a good sock to wear instead of a shoe with my fins? (snorkle, but hoping to take dive classes).. and 2nd.. what size would you recommend?NICOLE V : I wear a 9 1/2 women's shoe and have an average foot width although my feet are very thin. I can wear the booties with a sock under comfortably in my full foot fins. I don't know that these would be comfortable with a heel strap but they are great in my underwater hockey fins!DORIS B : I bought them for a friend and he likes them to wear under his full foot fins. I LOVE Speedo Women's Amphibious Shore Cruiser II Water Shoes which I wear under fins with straps. We dive in Cayman Brac where the water never gets colder than high 70s. I wear a 6 so I got a 6. I will try to help.! I wear a men's 12 and bought an 11. I probably should have bought a 10. They were tight dry, but loosen up when wet. They worked very well with my adjustable strap fins (fins meant to be worn without boots). I also have a pair of fins that fits the entire foot and isn't adjustable. They didn't work well in these as they kept slipping back down my foot, exposing my ankle. Probably a combination of how short they were, plus a little loose. My fuller length socks worked well on both, and were even looser.

JOHN R : The bootie is pretty thin. If you are using with a fin that you use a boot with it may be too thin. Not too durable but to be expected due to thinness. I use these with fins with smaller foot pocket. I like them and the price is right. They provide a bit of protection that I was looking forJANET M : Tracy--These work well for me w/my adjustable heel fins for snorkeling. I also wear size 9, narrow feet. I followed other reviewers' advice and went down in size and ordered Size 7. I had never work dive booties, so I have nothing to compare these to, but I'm very happy with these. Will be using them in Oct. snorkeling in the US Virgin Islands--can't wait!!!
JanetMARCUS H : I wear the neoprene socks because my fins are little tight when I wear boots. They are fine to wear instead of a shoe with fins. You have to make sure, as they are not as thick s boots/shoes, that your fins are not loose when you wear the socks. From the size chart, the size 8's should be good.

I bought the medium socks: not the XS, I wear a size 8 shoe and a 7-9 fin. The fins fit fine over these socks.BRIAN K : With the 2mm socks yes you will need to size up the fins but I cannot say how much. The problem I had is the larger fin was too large without the 2mm socks. The next size smaller was to small with no socks. I needed the 2mm socks to have a good fit.CHRISTOPHER D : No need to resize at all. If you have the style with the adjustable back then these socks might be fine because you have some room to work with. However if you have closed heel fins, it will depend on how much room you have. They are great quality socks but too thick for use with my existing fins. I bought these along with the really thin socks(forgot what they were called) just to be safe and know that one would fit me. The thin ones fit fine. I free dive so I use cressi garra fins with closed heels. Hope this helps.DANIEL L : I found that you do have to adjust your fins when you use these as they do take up space. They did work well for me when I kept the fins fairly tight. Also the material has held up pretty well so far.BRANDON H : for me, these socks made my Cresi 3000s a little tight, so I use the 1mm socks instead. I would size up if you plan to use these 2mm socks.JASON J : Personally I would not size up, but it will be a little tight. Mine are tight but If I sized up my fins would be too loose without the socks and ultimately give me blisters. I use these socks with my adjustable scuba fins perfectly, but i use the really thin water socks when i use my fitted freedive fins. These socks do run big. I am a size 13 and a size 12 fits perfect.SARAH H : I wouldn't but it depends how tight your fins fit without the socks on. If they are already super tight maybe you'll need to size up but if they are a comfortable fit then I recommend keeping the same size. All rubber foot pockets loosen up and stretch with use so even if they are a little tight the first few times you use them with the socks they should be good once you get used to the new set up.
I didn't change my fin size when i got my socks and now my foot pockets on my fins are so loose i wish there was a size smaller! But that's just the type of fin I have.RAYMOND W : Yes!
