Questions & Answers

linda N : I wear a women 7, my husband a 10. The conversations sound confusing, what sizes do we need?Steve S : For the women's size 7, go with the size 5. For the men's size 10, go with the size 10.SCOTT H : i would say order the size you where but if you want them to stay tight go down one size cause they stdetch out after being wornROBERT W : I wear a men's size 11, and purchased size 10. They fit great. I live in Guam in deal with a lot of coral, and these sock are durable to walk in before you get your fins on. I hope this helps.
ANTHONY B : Would a grip sole (XS brand) or a smooth sole (Akona brand) work better for donning/doffing a full foot fin?NICOLE V : I wear these in full foot fins on a regular basis-2x/week for underwater hockey. They work fine although this brand stretched out and ripped way sooner than the other neoprene socks I have purchased in the past.JOHN R : I have the xs socks and although it looks like they have a sole it is really just some no slip printing on the bottom - it may stiffen the sock up ever so slightly but not a lot. I have worn over other socks types when using a set of force fins that are a bit to big for my bare foot. I would only use these for flippers that are not meant to be used with booties (open backed) where the rubber is stiff and a bootie is need to really protect the foot and create a good seal with the flipper. 2mm is very thin and due to the low cut can catch water in them. If you have a set of full foot flippers that are a bit big either of these socks might work for you. I would probable pick the less expensive pair since I do not think you will see a big difference and the no slip printing might actually make it harder to get into the flipper.MARCUS H : Hi, I have used both. Not a lot of difference. Smooth is little easier. Marcus
Tracy K : I have diving fins with adjustable heel... i had the 3mm zipper dive booties.. but am looking for something much shorter as the booties are tight on the ankle... wear a women's size 9 shoe, first is this a good sock to wear instead of a shoe with my fins? (snorkle, but hoping to take dive classes).. and 2nd.. what size would you recommend?NICOLE V : I wear a 9 1/2 women's shoe and have an average foot width although my feet are very thin. I can wear the booties with a sock under comfortably in my full foot fins. I don't know that these would be comfortable with a heel strap but they are great in my underwater hockey fins!DORIS B : I bought them for a friend and he likes them to wear under his full foot fins. I LOVE Speedo Women's Amphibious Shore Cruiser II Water Shoes which I wear under fins with straps. We dive in Cayman Brac where the water never gets colder than high 70s. I wear a 6 so I got a 6. Good luck and come to Cayman Brac to learn to dive with Reef Divers. I have dived all over the world and they are the best!RAYMOND W : These worked okay with my fins with an adjustable heel strap. I actually bought these to wear with a full foot pocket.JOHN B : My son does not like them MARIO G : I personally would not recomend them for adjustable heel fins i own mares full foot fins and they fit and feel perfect a booty will be better with adjustables but again thats my taste for an adjustable fins i prefer something thicker as far as size im a 9.5 sometimes 10 depending on the shoe i got a size 9 sock and are perfect my wife is a 6 sometimes 6.5 depending onshoe and i got her a size 5 they fit great hope this info was usefull on your decision.MATTHEW M : Tracy I will try to help.! I wear a men's 12 and bought an 11. I probably should have bought a 10. They were tight dry, but loosen up when wet. They worked very well with my adjustable strap fins (fins meant to be worn without boots). I also have a pair of fins that fits the entire foot and isn't adjustable. They didn't work well in these as they kept slipping back down my foot, exposing my ankle. Probably a combination of how short they were, plus a little loose. My fuller length socks worked well on both, and were even looser. Hope this helps. MATTHEW M : Tracy I will try to help.! I wear a men's 12 and bought an 11. I probably should have bought a 10. If you are using with a fin that you use a boot with it may be too thin. Not too durable but to be expected due to thinness. I use these with fins with smaller foot pocket. I like them and the price is right. They provide a bit of protection that I was looking forJANET M : Tracy--These work well for me w/my adjustable heel fins for snorkeling. I also wear size 9, narrow feet. I followed other reviewers' advice and went down in size and ordered Size 7. I had never work dive booties, so I have nothing to compare these to, but I'm very happy with these. Will be using them in Oct. snorkeling in the US Virgin Islands--can't wait!!! JanetMARCUS H : I wear the neoprene socks because my fins are little tight when I wear boots. They are fine to wear instead of a shoe with fins. You have to make sure, as they are not as thick s boots/shoes, that your fins are not loose when you wear the socks. From the size chart, the size 8's should be good.
Anna R : do i need to size up my fins to use these?WAI C : Not likely. The neoprene socks pretty thin. It's feels larger than the specified size, especially at the heel.BESS J : Anna, I bought the medium socks: not the XS, I wear a size 8 shoe and a 7-9 fin. The fins fit fine over these socks.BRIAN K : With the 2mm socks yes you will need to size up the fins but I cannot say how much. The problem I had is the larger fin was too large without the 2mm socks. The next size smaller was to small with no socks. I needed the 2mm socks to have a good fit.CHRISTOPHER D : No need to resize at all. Mine fit just fine with my current fins.JEFFERY S : My son uses these with full foot flippers that he already had and used bear foot but wanted something on his foot. These socks are thin and fit good.MARIO G : no they fit perfect with your current ,size they are not that thickBRIAN A : I would say its likely you will have to get a little larger fin, depending on your style of fin. If you have the style with the adjustable back then these socks might be fine because you have some room to work with. However if you have closed heel fins, it will depend on how much room you have. They are great quality socks but too thick for use with my existing fins. I bought these along with the really thin socks(forgot what they were called) just to be safe and know that one would fit me. The thin ones fit fine. I free dive so I use cressi garra fins with closed heels. Hope this helps.DANIEL L : I found that you do have to adjust your fins when you use these as they do take up space. They did work well for me when I kept the fins fairly tight. Also the material has held up pretty well so far.BRANDON H : for me, these socks made my Cresi 3000s a little tight, so I use the 1mm socks instead. I would size up if you plan to use these 2mm socks.JASON J : Personally I would not size up, but it will be a little tight. Mine are tight but If I sized up my fins would be too loose without the socks and ultimately give me blisters. I use these socks with my adjustable scuba fins perfectly, but i use the really thin water socks when i use my fitted freedive fins. With those socks its easier to get my fitted fins on and off because they arent very think.ERIC S : From my personal experience these booties are very thin and fit easily in my regular finsJOHN C : I didn't. It obviously made them a bit more snug, but there's no soles to speak of, so they fit fine in my full-foot fins.VAL B : yes. most likely yes. my fins are almost tight fit, i was able to pull them over the socks, but after 15min swimming, i felt pain in both feet, so i took them off.JOSEPH W : No. I use Cressi 3000 full boots and they fit great. These socks do run big. I am a size 13 and a size 12 fits perfect.SARAH H : I wouldn't but it depends how tight your fins fit without the socks on. If they are already super tight maybe you'll need to size up but if they are a comfortable fit then I recommend keeping the same size. All rubber foot pockets loosen up and stretch with use so even if they are a little tight the first few times you use them with the socks they should be good once you get used to the new set up. I didn't change my fin size when i got my socks and now my foot pockets on my fins are so loose i wish there was a size smaller! But that's just the type of fin I have.RAYMOND W : Yes!
Shopper : How much stretch do these socks have?LeisurePro S : These socks have a fair amount of stretch--not because they're made with a particularly stretchy material blend, but because they are thinner neoprene and have a thin sole, they fit more like an actual sock than a boot.

Nice for snorkeling

I use these when I swim in the canal to protect my feet from my rocket fins. Easy on/off, but not for diving.

Didnt hold up to diving

My wife and I both bought these to try a lighter sock style rather than a boot. They just didnt hold us. After only about 10 to 12 dives there are holes forming at the seams.

Excellent product!

This is my second pair of these socks and I highly recommend them. They are very well made and hold up even after heavy use. They are also very effective in preventing chafing between full-foot fins and your skin, as well as providing a better fit. I recommend that people consider buying them one or 2 sizes smaller than your foot since they stretch and will provide a better fit in the foot pocket of your fins. For example I have a size 9 1/2 foot, and use a size 7 XS scuba sock for my size 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 Mares Quattro Pro fins. Works great!

XS SCUBA TITANIUM SOCKS

Very satisfied with the product however sizing was way off. I wear a size 11 or 11 1/2 running shoe and ordered the size 11 sock. A size 9 or 10 would have been much better. I cut about an inch off the toe and used dental floss to sew it back up. Worked great. Im going to use these for windsurfing.

Ok, not perfect

They fit fine dry but once wet they are "sloppy". I have wanted to be able to wear these between dive spots on the boat after I got out of the water but they are very loose and sloppy on my feet. They fit fine just not a "form fit"

Great boot, but buy 2 sizes down

Thank goodness I read the review saying to buy this 2 sizes small. I did and it fits perfectly. Normally wear a mens 8 or 8.5, bought a 6 and it's great. Thin enough for my full foot fins. Textured bottom prevents slips. Will buy second for a friend soon.

Nice Sock! High backs as expected

I'm normally an 8 and read reviews that suggested this product runs big and purchased a 6 which fit just fine. The back of the sock is high enough for my open heal fins to prevent rubbing. Using them in a month in they Keys, hopefully no blisters this year! :)

Snorkel Sock

Their good for snorkeling. I have narrow feet. Got one size smaller but they aren't as tight as I wanted. I'll keep them because the price was good and they will be used when snorkeling.

very loose fit

I expected a form fitting sock when I purchased these a full size small. The ankle section is loose and very over sized while the length is fine. The material also bunched up at the ankle with a boot on and was not comfortable.

great for scuba fins

Easy to remove fins when in the water. Rubber soled "shoes" got stuck and someone else would have to remove fins but now he can do it himself. Buy one size smaller.
