I wear the pocket shorts over a 3mill or 5mill wet suits. Deep expandable Velcro tabs hold dive spool reels, lights& folding knife. D rings let you clip on equipment lanyards. Can hold 1 Lb weights lower for diver profile. Travels well, packs lighter than a wetsuit.

though i haven?Äôt used the highland 2mm super stretch neoprene pocket shorts yet?Ķ lakes ice covered?Ķ initial look reveals what many other have stated?Ķ sizing seems to be one size large. by the ?Äúfitting?Äù chart i?Äôm on the low side of xl. ordered an l and it actually fits a little loose over my 7mm. at this point i must add the standard disclaimer?Äúyour mileage may vary!?Äù these shorts appear well made. quad stitched on vertical seams?Ķ double stitched on horizontal seams. lots of d-rings on the pockets. perhaps too much velcro on the pocket flaps?Ķ certainly better too much than not enough. also additional velcro to hold pockets flat when not in use. nice touch. see manufacturer?Äôs graphic. personally still suspect of the ?Äúdrawstring?Äù as to ?Äúholding up?Äù power. to be seen. at this point (without use), really would like to have six to seven loops which would accept a ?Äústandard weight belt?Äù size belt for ?Äúholding up?Äù power. finally, based on initial fitting?Ķ really think two sizes smaller than ?Äúfit chart?Äù indicates may be necessary to use stand alone (no wet/dry suit). again, ?Äúyour mileage may vary?Äù depending on all the various body shape variables. overall, i believe a good purchase and thus, 5 stars... should something occur to change that, ill .

They work well and and comfortable. They have a lot of extra material in the crotch. I bought a size smaller than I usually wear and they fit fine

I am still* looking for a pair of form fitting (think tri shorts) with built in pockets. When I saw these online I thought I had found the perfect item. Unfortunately, they are relatively thick (even for 2mm), and fairly loose fitting. They fit more like bloomers than tri shorts. These would probably be great over a wetsuit in cold water, but in the tropical waters I dive, they are just way too bulky and loose.

I received my Highland 2mm pocket shots from Leisure Pro on time and well packaged as usual.

These were a gift, to provide more options to stow gear. Unfortunately they did not function well. The waist cord does not thread through grommets, so pulling directly against the unreinforced neoprene will start to rip in short order. These slide on easily, but will also slide off just as easily, especially when wet. I tightened the waist cord to the point of cutting off circulation and it still slid around. Yes, I had the correct size. In fact, when I got out of the water the cord was so tight seawater was pooling around my belly since it couldn't flow down my legs. These shorts constantly moved around during the dive, and I was continually trying to hitch them up. The pockets are great, deep and collapsible with strong velcro. I bought the same pockets from XS as a glue-on option for my wetsuit, and couldn't be happier. The shorts were an expensive mistake.

X-shorts have been a great way for me to add pockets to my wetsuit to stow my gear (backup mask, spool+SMB, shears). Gusseted Velcro pockets sit flat when empty. I've seen some people use them over their drysuits also. The only mis-information IMHO is the sizing. The waist is elastic, which means it can stretch a good amount (e.g., the medium size is 28" unstretched, 36" stretched). I looked at the recommended size and then purchased one size smaller.

I have a 31" waist. I got the size large. It's barely big enough around the waist when wearing a drysuit!!! Maybe the medium would work for me in a wetsuit, but I'm very glad I went with the large size. Opening the pockets when they are fully closed against the velcro...really difficult! Wow...a lot of velcro in new condition...hard to open that flap. So...look at what another reviewer wrote below. Get some extra velcro tape and simply attach to the velcro on one side or both (flap or pocket of short) to cover some of the active velcro until opening the flap is reasonable (not too hard or easy). As the working velcro wears and the pocket opens too easily, simply remove some of the velcro tape and there you go...fresh velcro available and the flap holds your gear safely without being difficult to open. The other issue I have with the shorts results from attempting to wear them with a drysuit. The shorts need more space between the waist and the crotch. Might not be necessary for a wetsuit, but in my drysuit...I really have to hike everything up...almost give myself a wedgie...trying to get the waist of the shorts high enough to go around my hip bones, so it will stay up.

These shorts are great in warm water. I ordered a large and almost sent them back for a medium but kept them anyway and like the loose fit.

The shorts run a little large and I ended up in a Med instead of a Lg. The cut is nicer than the old X-Shorts from Dive Xtras and they're less bulky.

Great addition to warm water wetsuits for carrying spool & surface signaling device, as well as other necessities when wetsuit and BC lack accessible pockets. Pockets are large and accordion designed so produce little drag when not stuffed with gear. However, I'd sooner trade a little strength achieved with the stiff nylon material for the flexibility of neoprene pockets.

Love this thing - I always have the same things in the same pockets, the pockets are HUGE but the velcro sides keep them from just floating out there. The velcro is strong, so I put some velcro strips on the pockets to reduce the attachment areas. This is good, though, because in a few years, if the velcro breaks down, I can remove the strips for "fresh" velcro.

This is an excellent product for tech divers who want to dive in warm water (without their drysuit). It provides two standard-sized side pockets positioned just like the drysuit, therefore no fiddling around looking for gear. They are the perfect answer to Tech Divers or Backplate lovers who like to sometimes get out of the caves and enjoy the tropics!

These shorts are great. Placing DSMB, Reals and other accessories in these pockets allows for easier access than BC pockets. Easy to access and easy to stow.

Good construction but sizing seems a bit big. Pockets attachment rings are a nice feature bit the pockets could be bigger.
