Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is it possible to get a sizing chart??? Nothing on the XS-Scuba site either. Be nice to save the frustration of guessing and shipping back.Mario C : Best size chart available is the one on the product page just above the drop down menu where sizes are chosen it has to be printed https://www.leisurepro.com/p-xssdfg/xs-scuba-dry-five-pyrostretch-5mm-gloves
Shopper : Are this also for women? Or would they be too big? MarceJERRY E : they are pretty bulky but I use them becouse of the cold water dives I do. they run a littlw small on the size chart.Michelle B : These are fine for women!
JOSHUA S : On the suggested size chart from leisure pro, I am a medium. I ordered a medium glove and they seem to be a little small in the arches of my fingers...especially between my thumb and index finger. The glove around my palm fits perfectly. Not sure if I should go with a large glove or keep these. I don't want the seems to break and Im afraid with a large size glove it won't fit around my palm. Any suggestions?BRIAN D : I had a similar situation. I am about to order the XL, and maybe pass my L on to my dive buddy - in fact, they are already in his dive bag. I haven't ordered them yet, so it's probably not much help, other than to say most people will have to order one size larger than the size chart indicatesJOSHUA S : Thanks everyone for the quick responses! I think I will order the Large pair and return which ever doesn't fit. I can't wait to get these gloves in the water!JAY W : Mine seemed the same way but loosened up some in the water. I LOVE these gloves for deep cold diving. TONY H : Hi These are nice gloves but they do run small. I'm a large (on the chart) and the large gloves is very snug. I actually have trouble getting them on and off they are so tight. I'd say getting one size larger is the way to go with these gloves.JASON G : I own the gloves in question. I bought according to the recommendations but in the end I sized up. It was a world of difference in fit so I would encourage you to size up. Hands do vary a lot in size and proportion so ymmv. Your comment regarding bursting/tearing seems- I felt the same way but I still used them and they were a poor enough fit that I had to have help. If those seems are going to burst, they should have but they didn't!MICHAEL A : I order A LOT(MOST) of my ENORMOUS collection of dive equipment. I usually order the size I think I am and the next size I think I might be. Shipping costs-especially for something as small as gloves-are insignificant. It's easier ju I dont know.st to buy the two pair, and with LeisurePros liberal return policy, try them on and then return the pair that doesn't fit. I have this same problem with gloves....I don't know why it happens. I'd KEEP this pair, order the next size up and compare the two, then return the ones that don't fit. If it gets into the return policy period then call LeisurePro and explain.....They are GREAT about returned stuff as long as it has tags on, hasn't been wet etc. I have at least eight pair of gloves and these are the BEST!
Curtis C : I work in a freezer that has a temp of -15 degree (F), I handle product that is frozen and of course wet from the frost on the product. The company issued gloves are fine until they get wet, will this glove provide the warmth I require especially for my fingers. I spent a max of 45 minutes collecting product each time I enter the freezer, I also have to enter information on a RF gun key pad. Will this glove help me keep my hands resonably warm, wspecially my finger tips?WILLIAM S : These gloves have a tight-fitting double cuff (designed so that the inner cuff is under your sleeve and the outer cuff over). So when you are underwater the water flow in and out of the glove is minimal, so they are very warm because of this. But they are HARD to get on and off. I use a little lube on my hands to make it easier. I would not recommend them for working in a freezer, since you don't need such a tight fit in the cuffs.MICHAEL A : Curtis- As a diver, what I mostly know is diving gloves(of course). These gloves are super nice...IF you dive. For what you want to do, I would recommend a gloves often referred to as "Blues". They are DRY gloves. They have a blue latex outside and a felt like liner. If you're NOT diving, which you aren't, the blues have the advantage of having greater dexterity, so you can enter data on the keypad. I am sure there are other non diving options. You don't need a sealed gloved but a glove that has a thickened palm and fingertip area and can hold a liner...many work gloves like that, that are much cheaper than these I would think. Good Luck. MikeSTEPHEN F : I use them for diving cold water down to about 35 degrees. They are as there name implies a "Dry" glove. While not completely dry, they offer excellent insulation in cold water conditions. My feeling is they would perform really well for your job. For added warmth, I recommend some thin merino wool glove liners to wear inside the glove. It would help getting the glove on and off with ease, and provide some additional warmth without the bulk.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?RICHARD R : i need them for cold water diving.VAUN B : Just about the only gloves you will find that have an extra wrist cuff, seal perfectly with an open cell wetsuit. Must have for staying dry while winter diving.STEVEN A : Best darn Northeast wreck diving glove available...LORRIE H : warmest gloves that I've ever used for winter swimmingCHAISE R : It's bloody cold and my body ain't healed from my accident yet, so WHM not working out. Need my hands for my artwork and cannot afford to lose them. These will guarantee protection while I do cold water therapy and swimming. Will pair excellently with the Red Cell wetsuit and Solite Pro ST boots. <3Kenneth R : Good review of product searched for to stay warm in cold water. The price seemed fair also.LISA P : 5 m gloves make a big difference in staying warm. They are a bit hard to put on and off but they are worth it. I dive all the time and in the winter they are a must. These look to be easier to deal with.GEORGE W C : These came in handy a few winter dives agoMYLES M : my favorite dive gloves!!

Great sealing gloves!

Gloves were a little stiff but i the seal on these was awesome!! I bought them for surfing the great lakes in the winter, used them Dec 17 and was more then happy with the way they kept water from getting in. Don't get me wrong my hands were wet when i took them off but there was no rush of water at all. I plan on buying another pair as a backup.

Excellent, best cold water gloves I have used.

I wear these with my drysuit. Drysuit dives for me are cold water, 55deg F and below, hour plus deco dives. These gloves keep my hands warm and still allow enough dexterity to clip and unclip regs, deco bottles and equipment. They are not perfectly dry. I get a very small amount of water seepage. However, even ice diving this has not been an issue. I highly recommend them.

Warm ;)

I usually use 3m these are way warmer but much much harder to get on, baby shampoo helped a lot !!! Be mindful of less dexterity. As with any thick glove. Very warm

Best cold non dry cold water gloves

Amazing gloves. No flush if put on correctly. May be difficult to get the second glove on without a bit of help if you want the seal under the Wetsuit and glove over the wetsuit

Happy with my purchase.

I was borderline size. Ordered the xs. Fit well but super hard to get on. Thanks to Leisurepro’s fit guarantee I was able to exchange for small. Much easier to get on. Underwater, very comfortable. I was diving 53 degree water. No problems.

Durable gloves that do not fade away.

Use these gloves repeatedly. Holds up to my scuba diving use with a wetsuit. Some wear along rubber seal, but not a worry since I do not wear with a dry suit.

Best gloves I've ever had

They are indeed warm gloves. I always used to get very cold hands using other types of gloves, but with these pair of gloves it was totally different. Did 1 hour dives in 4C water without getting uncomfortable. Recommended!

Difficult to put on but excellent dexterity and protection

I used these gloves in pair with my semi-dry suit. You will find out the second pair is hard to put on (part goes under the suit and the other on top of it. But once on they are very comfortable. excellent protection and good dexterity.

great gloves

This is my second pair of these. much warmer than most 5mm gloves. I tried to use as dry with my drysuit. It worked but was pain in the a$$. kept my hands just as warm wet as dry. I did 2 half hour dives in 40 degree water, hands eventually got cold but so did everything else.

XS Scuba 5mm Dry Five Pyrostretch Dry Gloves Review - Scuba Gear Reviews

We go winter diving in Puget Sound where the water temp is 44F (March 1). We were using 5mm gloves and our dives were limited by our hands getting too cold. We purchased a pair of these for each of us and are hands stay nice and warm. They arent water tight so some water gets in, but it seems to stay in and warm up. Also, we both agree they seem to be a size too large. Getting them on isnt too bad, just roll the wrist up, put it on, and roll it back down. Dont expect to do much with them on through. I recommend them and would get them again.

Warmest gloves ever!

I've tried various gloves and these are the warmest. Even gloves that cost more are not as warm as these. I'm 66 and need warm gloves, and these do the trick. The sizing is accurate too.

REALLY Nice gloves

I love these gloves. They are a bit tricky to get on and off in a hurry, but take your time and you will be rewarded with warm, toasty hands. My first dive with these gloves was in 44F water for 45 mins. My hands were not in the least bit cold. the "standard" for diving in this region is 7mm wetsuit gloves. With these being only 5mm they offer more dexterity but the dry/semi-dry feature kept my hands warmer than with 7mm wet gloves.

XS scuba dry 5mm with a WetSuit is GOOD

Used this product with a wetsuit, diving wrecks. Works just fine holding the anchor line down to 120 feet. Able to work with fingers.

They Really Work!

I used them for one dive in 56 degree water and was pleased. There is very little water infiltration and my hands remained warm for an hour long dive. The only real negative is having to struggle to get them on. They are SO tight that putting them on, or removing them at the end of a dive, is exhausting. I was tempted to buy one size larger and give it another go, but I'm not sure. The bottom line is--they do work, but I'm just not willing to deglove my hands trying to put them on. I'm still giving them 5 stars because they work as advertised. Just be prepared to spend so time donning and doffing.

Lifesavers!

I was going to rate these a 4 because they were difficult to put on, but if you roll the outer cuff up before you put them on, it was pretty simple. Taking them off was a different story, difficult, but not impossible. Because they transfered very little water they kept my hands warm and made my dive experience significantly better. I got XL and was slightly nervouse because the fingers felt a little too short at home, but in the water this was no factor.

Works as advertised

These gloves kept my hands warm in 48-55 degree Monterey, CA water even with 3 dives. Additionally, the gloves did not feel too bulky when putting on the mask, fins etc. I purchased one size larger than what the chart indicates and it is perfect. The only downside is the effort involved in putting the second glove on. Highly recommended.

Excellent product

Bought product for drysuit divers on team. Was well pleased when tried on and determined that the gauntlets of the gloves actually sealed and prevented water movement into the glove, providing additional warmth for cold water diving. Excellent product.

Used In 30 Degree Water-WhitewaterKayak

I Am A Whitewater Kayak Enthusiast, & Hand Paddle All Summer Long. Well Spring Flows Are The Ultimate From The Snow Melt, Levels Are High. I Still Wanted To Hand Paddle But Water Temperatures Are Cold, Cold, Cold. A Friend Told Me To Look Into 5mm Dive Gloves. I Did & I Think I Hit The Mark First Try With These Gloves. My Hands Were In Frigid Water For About 4 Hrs & They Were The Warmest Part On Me. The Flexibility of the Material Was Impressive As Well; I Actually Was Able To Change A Couple Screws Without Taking Them Off. I Like These Gloves, Especially For Warmth.
