Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is it possible to dump the weight ?Mario C : This BCD has 2 non ditching weight pockets. It is called non ditching as it is a top loader, in order to dump weights you must open pockets and remove weights, it will not fall on its own, unless you are upside down.
MICHAEL D : Any special instructions regarding attaching the hose that snaps to the inflator to the first stage?WILLIAM M : Not sure what you're asking... The BC inflator hose that comes with this BC is a standard BC coupling on the business end, and a standard 3/8 thread on the First Stage end. The only "special instructions" would be: Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosie. Unless you buy the version of this that comes with the AIR 2 inflator head, it comes with a standard inflator hose Roughly 26 inches I think, I didn't measure mine.JEFF J : Push collar on hose out slide on and release collarMITCH H : It can be a little difficult until it gets broken in but it gets easier over time. you can use a little silicone on your hose to help it slide in a little easier. good luck, you will love this BC!
Shopper : Is it possible to dump the weight? It's not clear from the specs?WILLIAM M : YES!! Any pocket actually designed for weight integration is quick dump-able. These are the quick release buckles, and the pocket unfolds down to allow the weight to fall out. This is a very good travel BC. Travel BCs are somewhat minimalistic, so it "feels" small in a way, but you every dive backplates w/o side mounting this will feel familiar. Has plenty of lift and limited, but still some, customizing potential. I added an Air II, permanent knife spot, stainless buckle, and a bellows pocket.MAX J : No it does have weight pockets that have only TOP openingJEFF J : Yes, if mount weight pockets upside down and then release the snapBRYAN K : Short answer yes. They are not truly dumpable pockets. But if you invert them on the waist belt, in can unclog the flap and the weight will drop outMARY C : No. The weight pockets are fixed and do not have a quick release dump.LISA M : The vest comes with two auxiliary pockets but they are not really weight pockets, though you can put weight in them, but are not made to quick release. I wanted that feature so I bought the Scubapro Accessory Quick Release Weight Pockets to add to my vest. They are kind of clunky and big, so if you sinch up the belt much they might interfere how snug you can get it.MITCH H : No unless you buy the optional and expensive clip on pockets.. with good air management and equipment you should never have to ditch your weight, not sure I would recommend doing that anyway.. lots of safer options.. great BC, will never dive with another. Bought girlfriend one and she feels the same as I..AARON S : The litehawk does not come with any weight pockets. There are two trim pockets, but they are non-dumpable. The two accessory pockets could be turned upside down and used as ditchable weight pockets, but they would only hold a couple pounds. You can remove the accessory pockets and put in dumpable weight pockets instead... https://www.leisurepro.com/p-scpwpqr/scubapro-accessory-quick-release-weight-pockets-pairDAN O : No. You will have to open the waist pouches at the twelve o'clock position, fish the weight out, and dump them. With practice I would imagine you could dump them pretty quickly. They have accessory quick release pouches, but they're pretty pricey. The back pouches are obscured by the bladder, so they're really difficult to get to.Caitlin S : I dont think so. they are not quick release pockckets.BENJAMIN J A : No. The weight pockets that come with are not quick dumps.TIMOTHY H : No- non ditchable as configured.DARCY C : Hi, The pockets that it came with aren't really big enough for more than 2-4lbs. They also slide through the waisbelt so for a quick dump, you'd have to open the pockets and pull out the weights. I bought bigger pockets that allows for a quick dump. Hope this helps.WADE P : Not the shoulder weight, but it is possible to set up the waist belt pockets to dump weight if you want to.
Shopper : What is the difference between the 2017 model and older models?KEVIN F : Aesthetics and design have been changed a bit. The padding in the shoulders and back have increased. The color scheme has changed.MITCH H : Didn't notice a difference. Love the BC, can't beat the price!!
Shopper : What's the difference between this 2017 Version and the 2013 version? (no air2)KEVIN F : Aesthetics and design have been changed a bit. The padding in the shoulders and back have increased. The color scheme has changed.

About Scubapro Litehawk BC X-Large/XX-Large

THE ULTIMATE STREAMLINED TRAVEL BC:
Lightweight, low-profile design is built with dive-trekkers in mind.
In the world of scuba diving, nothing exemplifies freedom of movement better than the feeling you get wearing minimal thermal protections and a bulk-free, back-flotation BC while cruising the crystalline waters of the tropics. Especially if it's a back-flotation BC built specifically for that purpose. Like the Litehawk. The Litehawk is the ultimate back-flotation travel BC. Its lightweight, ultra-slimmed-down design and soft, flexible backpack lays flat and compact for packing. The adjustable belt-style waist strap with nylon buckle can be cinched up snug, and the quick-release rotating shoulder buckles that let you route the straps under your arms, plus the two-position sternum strap, hug your body like the BC was custom-made for you.

But you can't fully appreciate the Litehawk until you get it in the water. With the tank secured by a lower primary tank band, an upper support strap and an adjustable yoke strap, the entire system locks in, ensuring a controlled, stable ride at depth. The BC carries no inherent buoyancy so only minimal ballast weight is required. Consequently, the two non-ditching pockets can be used to carry accessories. Optional quick-release weight pockets are also available, and four aluminum D-rings provide convenient clip-on points for additional gear. The Litehawk provides a streamlined package that travels easy and delivers a comfortable, stable ride at depth, making it well-suited for both tropical and temperate water travel diving.

Compact, lightweight design with soft backpack makes it perfect for dive travel. Constructed of 420-Denier nylon for lightweight and long-lasting durability. Low-profile, progressively-shaped rear air cell increases range of motion while decreasing drag. Elastic cords rein in the air cell when partially inflated and help control deflation. Clutter-free ergonomic harness eliminates bulk and enhances freedom of movement. Multiple band and strap system keeps tank secure and increases stability at depth. Three-dump deflation system lets you to dump air from a variety of underwater positions. Adjustable belt-style waist strap with nylon buckle offers a snug fit for any body shape. Rotating quick-release shoulder buckles allow you to optimize the routing of your shoulder straps to maximize fit. Two basic accessory pockets are included. Optional weight pockets are available. Two rear trim pouches allow you to achieve a well-balanced swimming position. Four aluminum D-rings provide convenient clip-on points for additional gear. BC comes equipped with a Balanced Power Inflator (BPI). Scubapro's BPI, corrugated hose, elbow and low-profile dump valves using the latest technology for full safety and comfort. The BPI is equipped with a cable-activated pull-dump mechanism on the left shoulder. There is a right shoulder and right lower rear over-pressure relief/pull-dump valves, both equipped with pull cords for ease of trimming buoyancy. The BPI comes with a 3/8" threaded low pressure (LP) quick-disconnect hose. Available in multiple sizes with 29.2 lbs. (13.2kg) of lift capacity. BCD weighs between 4.8 and 5 lbs. (2.2 to 2.3kg) depending on sizes. BCD includes an owner's manual.
