Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is there any way to attach this giant clunky ugly ass thing to your bcd?darrick c : You can attach it with the watch band strap to any d-ring on your BCD
DAVID L : Can the Leonardo’s straps be removed and set into a console?darrick c : Hello David, no, you would not be able to use the wrist computer in the console and vice verse the console will not fit in the wrist boot.
Shopper : Bluetooth for iPad?Theo K : Not with the Leonardo.Robert F : This computer does not have Bluetooth. You need a special adapter and cable.JOSE L : No. You can only connect to a computer via special interface.
Walt B : Does it have vibrating alarms?  I’m hard of hearing so audible alarms don’t work for me.BILLY T : Only audio, no vibration.michael s : No , but it is an all around good easy to use computerTheo K : Dear Walt, The Leonardo dive computer does not have a vibrating alarm.
Shopper : how much does it weigh?Mario C : .3 lbsPATRICK M : I'm not exactly sure but it is not noticeably heavy. I will say it is slightly bulky and gets caught on my BC when putting it on. Also the strap is really big. I'm a little above average in size but the strap could fit two of my wrists. I guess I could cut it but I have not. To tell you the truth I like my 15 year old computer attached to my regulator better.

Great starter computer for the price

I'm pretty happy with this computer, it's priced fair, and does a good job, only downside I found was the backlight was not as bright as I expected, I also feel like they could have incorporated more tech into device, little things can make it stand out better if they did so 4/5 not perfect

Leonardo

Easy to use. Large display. Cressi kept things simple. Like so much, I now have two of them.

Broken before use

Broken screen after 2 years. I can hear it turning on and beeping but no screen output. Seems to be a common them with this computer. Not even sure there was a single dive on it yet. As the saying goes. But once cry once. Avoid these cheap computers from cressi. Get a shearwater.

No External Connectivity for Modern Devices

No Bluetooth or connectivity for phone or computer. Yes, there is a $70 accessory available but its only compatible with 5-6 year old software. Seems like a decent computer, but the lack of any sort of connectivity outside of itself is surprising and disappointing. Returning it to get a more modern computer that can actually let me see the data.

Works great

It?s great for the price but don?t expect a good back lite. It?s dim and basically nonexistent. Maybe you can see it if it?s totally dark

Unsatisfied

Bought one a couple of years ago. The Leonardo. It stopped working properly, it would beep but nothing appeared on screen. Paid to get it fixed, apparently it's a factory reset. Now it doesn't work again 5 months later. Very very annoyed, it's not good enough.

Great gauge for the price!

As expected and then some! Really liked the large, easy to read display and the security and safety of having the air on a gauge as opposed to all digital. If the battery suddenly goes dead on a dive you at least know how much air you have left.

Great Cressi Dive Computer

The Cressi Leonardo dive computer works great! I personally enjoy having it on the regulator set up than my wrist because it feels more free. It starts up and turns off when it needs to and the information is easy to read even in murky water. I highly recommend this for most scuba divers.

Great computer for general rec diving!

Great computer as a novice diver. Easy to navigate menus and information screens. Only two dives so far, but seems really accurate. I compared the depth to my analog depth gauge and it was never more than 2 feet off, probably due to the sampling time (20 seconds). My surface interval was the same as or within a minute of the other computers present. Overall this computer will serve me great for years to come with only battery changes required. Only downfall I can see for some users would be the connectivity to a computer requires an extra purchase of a docking station, another $80.

Good starter computer

This is a great computer for beginner divers. It's easy to read and understand. It has one button to scroll through the modes which is easy enough to do and makes it simple when diving. It's a bit too large for my female arm so I will be giving it to my husband. I had it as tight as the strap would go and it was still a little large. It worked just fine on our recent dives. The safety stop countdown is in minutes and doesn't show seconds which is okay, you just need to be aware.

FEATURED REVIEWS

Great value and very easy to use.

By Joe

I am a beginning diver at age 55. After getting my Open Water certification, I decided a computer was going to be my first purchase. I already had a good mask with corrective lenses and snorkel. I researched online, and found reviews and recommendations for the Leonardo rating it a Best Buy and good for beginners. Also, Cressi was noted for being on the conservative side, and as an older beginner I wanted a conservative device, and the single button and large readout was very appealing. I...

Excellent computer

By Scuba S.

Excellent computer for the price!! A great computer for the beginner and advanced diver. Air and Nitrox with a "Gauge" mode. I have tried several dive computers and kept coming back to the Leonardo every time. Easy to operate and even easier after using the class that is included with the computer purchase. The display is very easy to read because of the large numbers. It may not be a big deal, but I like the fact that you can turn off the computer between dives. It still keeps up with the d...

The Cressi Leonardo Wrist Computer is an elegant expression of a simple and functional design, the Leonardo is a must have for divers entering the sport and those who just want to dive. A single button interface makes it effortless to program air, nitrox and gauge modes. Leonardo has a large edge to edge, high-definition LCD screen that gives large numerical displays in a computer that is still compact and travel friendly. The Leonardo's easy to see battery life icon indicator and its distinct audible alarms deliver critical information as well as peace of mind during the dive.

The Leonardo features a new Cressi RGBM Algorithm, created in conjunction with the expertise of Bruce Wienke and based on the Haldane model, integrated with RGBM factors. This Algorithm allows for safe decompression calculations for multiple dives spread out over multiple days. The Leonardo computer by Cressi is a multifunctional instrument for sport diving It will supply any wanted information on depth, dive times, decompression status, ascent rate and surface interval times between dives. Nitrogen absorption and release is continuously processed by its sophisticated software, considering the quantity of inert gases in the different mixtures which can be used. Such information is displayed on the instrument's large display, thanks to the PCD (Priority Compartment Digit Display) system, allowing an easy and direct dialogue between the diver and the computer, ensuring a clear understanding of all the data needed at any given time and a perfect readability in any situation. The computer is provided with clock and calendar, a versatile dive memory (logbook), as well as a dive simulator. The mathematical model of Leonardo can make saturation and de-saturation computations of dives carried out both with air and with nitrox, whose parameters can all be set: from the maximum allowed PO2 value between 17.4 and 23.2 psi (1.2 bar and 1.6 bar), to the mixture's oxygen percentage (FO2) between 21% and 50% of O2. Additionally, the instrument may be set by the user for either imperial (feet) or metric (meters) system. The Leonardo can also be fully re-set after each use, making it an excellent choice for rental departments.

The Cressi Leonardo Dive Computer has an operational depth from 0 to 393' (0 to 120m), is powered by a user replaceable CR2430 3-volt battery and is equipped with a 60 dive (70 hour), logbook memory function. The clock function can be set in a 12/24-hour formats. The computer is also altitude adjustable up to 12,139' (3,700m) and has a back-light feature for low light conditions. The computer comes with a comprehensive owner's manual.
