Questions & Answers

Trevor P : How good is this computer in low visibility?CRAIG G : I have used it in vis that was about 2 feet. I had to put it right next my mask , but I have been very pleased with it.EDWARD M : I have been diving with this computer for over 5 years now and I dive in low visibility very often here in Qatar. Sometimes the only thing you can see is when you move the computer in front of your face and you see the screen. I highly recommend it for low visibility/black water diving.BILL L : Very good, in most cases you don't need the light option but it's there for night diving and low viisablitySCOTT V : Very good.
Shopper : Does this computer work with the older uwatec software so that I can keep my dive log? (I have a UWATEC smart con)THOMAS S : I think so, I had really old software from an old model Uwatec and was able to call up the log. The software is free and on the Uwatec site, so go get a copy and try it before you decide to buy the computer.MATTHEW S : I'm sorry but I'm not sure. Best idea would be to contact Uwatec directly. If I had to guess I'd say noROBERT R : It does not however you can store the data and view it in the old version.
MARK S : how reliable is the wireless connection, what if the wireless connect fails underwater what information if any will i have on wrist computer and remaining information like depth decon etc?Steve S : The wireless signal works very well. It is rare that you would lose the signal. With that <a href="http://said...if" target="_blank">said...if</a> you do lose the signal the computer will continue working as normal, except it will not show your air pressure. The depth, NDL, deco, etc will still work properly.MICHAEL H : Hi, I have never had it loose sinc. If it is not connected then you loose BAR remaining.BILL L : The connection is very reliable, I have never lost the connection. The transmitter has a great range, where you can sync with (like Uwatec transmitters) I think it is five students to monitor their air pressures. If the battery would fail or lose connection the only information that will be lost is the cylinder's pressure. Both battery's charge is shown on the wrist unit, monitor this and there souldn't be any battery issues. It is a great computer, I love it.OLIVER P : I have the galileo sol and galileo luna as a backup. Never has the wireless tank pressure telemetry failed underwater (it has failed to sync once, during initial coded pairing, immediately following an annual reg service due to a dead transmitter battery - link restored with a very quick battery and oring replacement). But as a result I now remove the transmitter before scubapro annual reg service. According to the manual, If a loss of transmitter signal occurs underwater the galileo gives a visual and audible warning and stops reporting pressure and remaining bottom time. All other functions including deco timers and level stops continue to function. As a backup to the transmitter, I carry a compact scubapro analog pressure gauge. But even with analog backup, in the event of a transmitter failure I would abort the dive and safely ascend. MICHAEL R : Hey Mark. I've only lost the wireless connection with the tank once and it was brief. It will continuously try to reconnect and in my case did in seconds. The computer will still give you all the decompression time and depth. KEITH G : The first time I used the computer it wouldn't sync. It was a warranty issue. Since then it works great.but the psi and heart rate is just a bonus to get max bottom time. It will still give you depth and time, nitrogen and oxygen levels. I use it sometimes on vacation when I rent equipment. And I don't utilize the pressure or heart rate monitors. It's a nice computer and I would recommend it. Actual I haven't changed batteries since I bought it. Good luck and safe diving.SCOTT H : It's pretty reliable, but I always dive with a secondary SPG... I have lost signal every once in a while, but it always comes back after a few seconds. But the SPG back up is a must. EDVINAS G : Had galileo for 18months, no issues after 150 dives, transmitter only transmitts psi to computer, u can dive it with out transmitter, all data will be available except the psi in your tanks
MARK S : once I have downloaded my dives to my pc can i back up my dive data to a memory stick or cd?RICHARD S : Yes, you just need to save your log file. JOHAN E : Yes, but it depends on the logbook software you use.
Steve I : the display shows the logo and the time very large and other info small. when diving can the display be changed so the tank pressure and the depth are larger and easier to read?RICHARD S : The display shown is the surface screen. In dive mode the screens show different information. There are three different dive modes to choose from: classic, full, and light. The more information you choose to see the smaller it gets. The manual is available to look at in PDF format on the ScubaPro website. For what it is worth, I love this computer. I use it as a primary for Tec dives. The integrated compass and multi-gas are features that make this great.Steve S : Yes. During the dive the logo will not be on screen. Everything on this computer is very easy to read when in use.

About Uwatec Galileo Sol Hoseless Wrist Computer with Transmitter

Loaded with computing, navigation and personalization features you can't find anywhere else, wrist-mount dive computers simply don't get any better than this. The ultimate Smart dive computer, the Galileo Sol offers state-of-the-art technology and advanced features you just won't find on other wrist-mount computers. The Galileo Sol features hose-less air integration Smart Tec/Z Transmitter, it can handle three nitrox mixes up to 100% O2, it comes with a heart rate monitor that also measures skin temperature, and its ZHL8 ADT MB algorithm calculates true remaining bottom time (RBT) and incorporates Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops, all of which respond directly to your personal physiology to increase your underwater efficiency and add layers of safety to your diving. Hose-less gas integration provides tank pressure, true remaining bottom time (RBT), and allows air consumption to be factored into the decompression calculation. Using the transmitter will give you vital information on air consumption and dive time remaining in respects to air time remaining. Transmitter is easy to install to your first stage regulator HP Port. Transmitter is powered by a user replaceable CR2 lithium battery. When using the transmitter, you can link to a buddy's computer to monitor both yours and their air supply. Pressure display provides a pressure readout from 0 to 4,350 psi (300 bars).

The Galileo Sol's integrated heart rate monitor incorporates your heartbeat into the workload and then tailors the decompression calculations to your dive. Scubapro is also the only dive computer manufacturer in the world that accounts for the effect of increased workload on human physiology during a dive. Through this technology you get the safest no-stop and decompression stop calculations available, even under the most demanding diving circumstances.

Even though it's a fully loaded dive computer, the Galileo Sol is surprisingly easy to use. Offering a choice of screen configurations to suit your individual tastes, you navigate through the system via three clearly marked buttons. You can also rotate the screen 180°, enabling the dive computer to be worn with buttons on top or on bottom. The intuitive digital compass with bearing memory features an actual half-compass rose that can be used at a full 90° tilt, making it a true aid to underwater navigation.

Predictive Multi-Gas (PMG) function: The PMG feature allows the Galileo Sol to use up to three nitrox mixes (21-100% O2) during the dive, calculating the ascent schedule for all possible combinations of the programmed mixes. The outcome of the different decompression calculations can be shown on the screen in a dedicated deco summary screen. Heart Rate Monitor function: Exclusive to Scubapro dive computers, the heart rate monitor, jointly developed with Polar (world leader in the field of heart rate monitors), measures your heartbeat and skin temperature during the dive that can then be factored into the decompression calculation along with your workload. This results in safer diving because each diver is unique, and each dive location and situation are different. The HRM is also ideal for free divers, measuring heart rate and sounding an alarm if the heart rate drops below the set level. The more you know, the better off you are. This is true for just about any aspect of life, including scuba diving. This state-of-the-art dive computer truly is a dive true bottom time calculator, a decompression dive planner, and a depth gauge, but it also offers features that simply make diving an even great sport to enjoy, such as a sleek design, a full-tilt compass with bearing memory, an extra-large display for easy reading underwater, hose less gas integration, and the option for you to input your personal information (name, diver certificate number, emergency contact information, and so forth). The Sol's alarms and signals will keep you safe at depth; the compass will keep you heading true, and the user interface will enable you to enjoy your dive without worrying about fighting with your computer while underwater.

The Galileo Sol Dive Computer is a wrist mount computer that is water activated so if you forget to turn it on manual it will still calculate all aspects of your dive profile once you hit the water. Computer is altitude adjustable to 13,300' (4,000 meters) with full decompression and without decompression (gauge mode) at any altitude. Computer is powered by a user replaceable CR12600SE (SKU: AQUBY126) lithium 3-volt battery. The Sol also gives you wait to fly information, has a stop watch function, depth alarm, battery alarm, and a maximum depth rating for decompression calculations of 394' (120 meters). In gauge mode the Galileo Sol's maximum depth readout is 1,082' (330 meters). Computer is equipped with back lighting for low light or night diving conditions.

See what you want, when you want, with Galileo's extra-large dot-matrix, available in 3 pre-configured screen display mode options: The LIGHT display shows dive time, depth, tank pressure and no-stop information with digits that could not be any bigger. The FULL display maximizes the information shown at once: depth, dive time, deco information, tank pressure, RBT, time of day, stopwatch, active MB (micro-bubble suppression) level, temperature, heart rate, maximum depth, average depth. The CLASSIC display strikes the perfect balance between "clean & clear" and "super complete". Depth, dive time, deco information, tank pressure, RBT and temperature are always displayed.

Oil-filled technology allows for a slim display casing design that fits comfortably on the arm. Computer is also a timekeeper with a quartz clock that gives time, date, and dive time display up to 999 minutes. Other features include current depth, maximum depth, choice of imperial or metric measurements, fresh or salt water, and a 100-hour logbook memory. Computer has four modes of air, nitrox, gauge and free dive. With the optional (SKU: UTCSMID) SmartTRAK Infrared Devise you can download your logged dives and download pictures with a 100 bitmap images as a wreck map the diver can use to orient themselves.
