I’d also add that I like this product and the company, however it is totally overkill. It is so bright even on the low setting that it actually washes out the color of what you are looking at, like the spot is too hot/white. The radius that it lights up is too wide, scares the critters you’re trying to find into hiding. I found that it actually took away from the night dives. It’s also extremely heavy and cumbersome. I would strongly recommend looking into a smaller light with less lumens. The liveaboard I was recently on had a smaller version of this same light with a much smaller housing and not quite as bright. I ended up renting one of those because my light was too much to deal with. It’s ptetty much going to be an expensive paper weight for me now. If you’re doing tech diving in extremely low vis... maybe. For your everage night diver, this is way too much.

Garett D : The light flickers and dims when it is on high. This happens when the light is out of the water and I have not tried it in the water yet. Could it be a heating problem?William C : Probably. Works flawlessly in the water. If you light it for a few seconds out of the water and it flickers, it needs a recharge or maybe a new battery. If the battery is good and it is charged, and it still flickers within seconds, test it in a tub of cold water. If it flickers then, then change the battery to a new charged one. If it still flickers with the new battery, send it back.Nicholas w : well its a dive light after all and its not made for out of water use bcause there is no water to flow over the cooling fins for leds also it will flicker on high if the batteries are really low or also dead.

2 light failures

Well customer service was great. However this product just doesn’t work. The first one had the switch break and then it would not turn off. I sent it back and got a replacement. On a night dive the second one was bright and performed awesomely, literally perfect for seeing everything. But that light soon failed and shorted out. I’m not sure if water moisture was getting through the case but i seamed this ones threads with diving silicone. It soon failed on that night dive and I scrambled for my back up torch. If it worked it would be a top of the line light, probably the best, but unfortunately a lot of divers are leaving UK because of quality control and using Princeton. Again Customer service was great, the only downside were the wait times on shipping. About a week wait. I switched to a Princeton sector 7, it’s not as bright but it’s great and doesn’t flood.

Daylight in the deep!

Exactly what was promised and brighter than expected. Excellent in 4 dives so far down to 90 feet in Bahamas. recharge nicely. Exactly as the 5 star rating stated, no issues.

Not happy.

Worked great for test in bucket of water and about 30 minutes of a daytime dive. Burnt odor open opening it post dive. Instead of sending me a replacement light head, Tusa quoted 4-6 weeks to evaluate, Leisure Pro similarly weak in support, UK no longer does direct support. Ended up returning it for credit.If this is your best, might as well stop selling them. Ended up buying NiCad round cells for both my old UK lights since only NiMH packs currently available.

Good construction, but heavy

I bought this light with the lantern handle option. It is a powerful light. Almost too bright to be used in a group dive. I found having one hand totally dedicated to this large light limiting. Allow for the extra weight for your safety stop. I used with the rechargeable battery. Double O-ring seal worked great. Nice light, when you need a lot.

Truly a light cannon.

Worth the weight. Drop a couple of pounds from the integrated. Great for day if you really want to see the true colors, or especially at night. Half the boat followed me around on night dives because I found much more with the good light, especially not using the center of the beam, but only the edge. It's a big plus if you lead a night dive of novices.

The rechargeable UK Light Cannon eLED L1 is the latest, and brightest dive light from Underwater Kinetics. Taking advantage of Underwater Kinetics patented optics technology that combines the light from three LEDs into a single, penetrating beam with minimal spill light, the Light Cannon L1 blows away the competition. Producing a massive 2100 lumens on high power mode, this light is bright enough to light up a reef on a night dive and maintain visibility of your surroundings in the darkness. It's also fantastic for exploring the interiors of wrecks, caves, or other hard to see areas. Underwater Kinetics optics technology focuses most of the lumens in the center of the beam, so that unlike other light manufacturers, you actually get the full benefit of the light's lumen rating. Some companies may have over 50% of the light lost as peripheral spill light, so that you're getting a much dimmer light than advertised. The rechargeable NiMH battery pack is an airline-safe, long-life, rechargeable battery pack that is great for the traveling diver who wants to avoid paying Island prices for alkaline cells which may have been sitting on the shelve for who knows how long! With the rechargeable battery pack the light provides a whopping 2100 lumens of brightness for a burn time of 2-hours in high-mode and 900 lumens of brightness in low-mode for 5.5-hours of burn time. Tough, non-corroding build from a composite plastic that does not chip, scratch, dent or corroded and is rated to 500' (152.4 meters). The bezel reflector is manufactured from HYDRALUM and engineering polymer component that will hold up for 20 years in seawater.
