I have about 275 dives on mine over the last at least 10 years. It still looks almost brand new and have had absolutely no issues with it. I just finished 27 dives in the Maldives. I dive with between 14-16 lbs of weights. I would highly recommend one.

Perfect BCD for beginner/intermediate divers! I love it. It is very light and great for travel, does not retain a lot of water, and dries quickly. All I could ask for!

I had a couple of these over the years. They’re great for traveling by air they pack up nice and small and weigh next to nothing. It’s actually a wing with a soft backplate design.

This is an excellent and well thought out BC for travel. However the two smaller sizes XXS/XS and SM/MD are not suitable for colder water or use with a wetsuit. One star for the its design and quality. It appears well made with nice features like a pocket for storage, grommets for mounting a knife sheaf and a quality braided flex hose for the infiltrator along with an attached dust cap. Second star for its fitment. Ins a unisex BC. Black or pink models are identical. They are not cut differently for men or women. However they fit both VERY well with the adjustments. My wife tried on a dozen BCs and found the Zuma to most comfortable and best fit. Especially the tank location does not pull on your shoulder and does not sit too high or low. The final star for its ability to travel light and compact. Completely dry and totally deflated this BC rolls up exceptionally small and can fit into a walmart plastic shopping back with room to spare! Now the major flaw. The two smaller sizes are only rated at 22lbs of lift and NOT 34lbs as advertised. This worked great for my wife in the pool. And will work great in any other warm water or tropical conditions. However it was a complete disaster recently on a checkout dive at the lake where the water was 45F. My wife was in a 7mm suit with a 5mm core and cover as was I. We both had our BCs maxed out at 20lbs of weights with an additional weight belt. This exceeded the abilities of the smaller sized Zuma. The larger sized Zuma with 34lbs of lift worked well. If the smaller Zuma provided the same 34lbs of lift this could be a 5 star product.

This was my first experience with a rear bladder bcd. It took several dives to adjust the weight distribution in order to achieve trim. I purchased two supplimental weight pouches that thread through the tank straps. I dive SW with 16 lbs. (shorty wetsuit), 5 lbs. in each of the front integrated pouches, 2 lbs. in each of the rear non-dumpable pouches and a 2 lb. ring weight around the tank valve. With this weight distribution I was able to achieve an in-trim profile. The main complaint voiced by a few reviewers is that the bc tends to float the diver face down. For me the Zuma floats me slight face down, more of an inconvenience than a safety issue. However, if you are overweighted, the problem will be more pronounced at the surface due to the inflation required to offset the excessive weight carried which will definately float you face down. Overall, a nice lighweight warm water bc.

If you are looking for a lite weight BCD, the Zuma is not a terrible choice but not the best. There were a couple of small Quality Control problems off the rack for me. One half of the belly strap and top tank strap buckles were reversed so, you had to 'twist' one side to make the two buckles mate. After my first dive I brought the vest back to the dive shop and they fixed the problem. But now the design issues. 1. The Belly straps are far too thin and the folded ends are as well, too thin. When wet, the belly strap ends tuck firmly inside the buckle making it extremely difficult to grasp and adjust especially, if you have a bit of a gut where the straps 'dig in.' I resolved this by putting 3" carabiners in the strap folds. 2. The shoulder adjust traps are even narrower and tends to bunch up in the buckle. Attaching accessories to the D ring that also houses the shoulder straps just makes the problem worse. These straps really need to be wider and thicker. 3. There is no buckles system connecting the shoulder harness to the waist belt. It is just a straight strap connecting the two. This is a real problem if you're a large chested guy like me and, more so with a thick wet suit on. I can barely get into the thing and it's real work to get it off in the water. My Zuma is two years old but I see the new models have made few improvements in the belt design. While I appreciate the commitment to weight saving techniques, it would only take a few minor adjustments and add just a few ounces to make this a perfect lite weight BCD.

For the size should measure your height first....if your size is overlapping between two sizes better take larger one. I bought xss/xs for my kid (160cm) and it is a bit too short...should have taken S size. Bought cressi travellight xs the same time and the features are better and size is good with a little difference in price. If only i could change the size with the local aqualung dist.

I am an instructor and I have used the Zuma BCD for the last two years on every warm water dive I have done. It is a back inflate, so it takes some getting used to when floating on the surface. It also does not have releasable shoulder straps or weight pouches on the back of the BCD. It is best for use in mellow recreational diving with little weight. In that circumstance I have found it an absolutely wonderful BCD. I have guided and taught in it, and I intend to continue using the Zuma for all my warm water diving. That said, the bladder gave up on my Zuma after about 800 dives, which is far more than your average diver would use it, but less than a busy instructor might. It also does not have frills, like big metallic D-rings, but I found the smaller plastic ones to be durable and plentiful enough for my needs. I would highly recommend this BCD for people who travel and enjoy lightweight back-inflate BCDs.

I've used my Zuma in tropical waters. I like how it's so light weight and easy to pack. It has no metal back plate so it's easy to fit in a suitcase. A few of the straps in the front feel a bit flimsy to me, but this is my first wing BCD after 6 years of diving with rented BCDs. It's very adjustable. I usually suffer from lower back pain but with this BCD I didn't get a back ache after 6 dives.

I never used it in the water. Appears to be a well built travel BC. My issue was very few D rings and only one pocket. Also, no rear trim pockets. Got the Cressi Travelight 2013 instead. Appears much more what I was looking for. Will review that one after Coz in a few weeks.

Easy to travel with. Light
The fun, travel-friendly Zuma will find favour with those divers who are tired of paying excess baggage fees. This ultra-light, weight-integrated, back inflation BC has everything you need, yet lacks weight and bulk. Once you lift it, you'll feel for yourself that a size ML/LG weighs less than 4.75 lbs. (2.2 kg), with the airway and weight pockets included! Extremely lightweight to help eliminate those dreaded excess baggage fees. A size ML/LG weighs less than 2.2kg (4.75 lbs). Great packability - flat or rolled. The Zuma fits nicely, along with the rest of your dive kit into the Aqualung Departure carry-on bag. Innovative tank support system eliminates the need for a hard pack. The tank band has been lowered to integrate with the waistband. A valve strap pulls the top of the cylinder in towards your center of gravity. This relieves the shoulders and transfers the load to the hips. The bottom line is proper fit, comfort and stability. Be sure to try one on with a cylinder.
SureLock II Mechanical Weight Release System (patented). The SureLock II weight pockets align themselves. Just insert the pocket until it "clicks". A simple, single pull release is all that is needed to jettison the weights in an emergency. The SureLock II weight pockets can accommodate 20 lbs. (9 kg) capacity in all sizes. The Zuma also has optional non-releasable weight capacities of 10 lbs. (4.5 kg). Only 4 sizes are all that's needed to cover from XXS to XXL. A bladder retraction system is used to pull in the sides of the bladder during deflation. This keeps unit streamlined and reduces drag. An adjustable chest strap can be raised or lowered on a rail system. Set it for your personal comfort. Proprietary flat valves are streamlined, eliminating drag. The fold-down, easy-access pocket is perfect for a small flashlight or a fish I.D. slate.
BC features 4 D-rings to attach all your accessories. Lower right pull dump is perfect for head first descents or cruising on a horizontal plane. Sculpted padded shoulders for comfort. Padded spine and lumbar support for comfort and stability. Knife attachment points are found on the left lobe which will accommodate many of the Aqualung knives. This location provides easy access to the knife. Right shoulder pull dump provides an additional dumping option. Rolled neck collar prevents abrasion on the neck.
The Zuma comes equipped with Aqualungs Power Line Inflator with an increased fill rate which is now, one of the highest air flows in the industry. The Power Line is an environmentally sealed unit for less maintenance, has integrated hose clips for attachment to the LP hose for a streamline and low profile. The inflator is equipped with a cable activated rapid exhaust at the top, simply pull down on lower unit to dump air. The Zuma Travel BCD provides 22 lbs. (10 kg) of lift in sizes XXS, XS, SM, MD and 34 lbs. (15.42 kg) of lift in sizes ML/LG and XL/XXL. Available in multiple colors. The Zuma Travel BCD comes with a low pressure 3/8" threaded hose and owner's manual.
