Worked perfectly to swim in 52 F water, maybe a little tight but it was expected since it’s a scuba wetsuit. Minor scratches on my neck

Only negative is that there is not enough six’s for neck, head and chest variations.

The zipper on my Aqualung Solafx 8/7mm semi-dry broke. A couple of the teeth in the zipper fell off of it/broke off. Causing the zipper to bust and my suit to flood with 48-degree water (Not fun), I was 100 feet deep at the time so I had to do my decompression while trying not to get hypothermia! I have only did 30 dives in this suit so far and I am upset that the zipper broke this quickly. I take good care of my gear, rinsing after every dive, keeping it out of direct sunlight, and I've deep cleaned it once so far. Now I’m stuck waiting 5-7 weeks for Aqualung to make this right with no exposure suit to go diving. I’ve always enjoyed their gear but this has damaged my trust I their equipment and frankly I will not be getting aqualung wetsuits anymore.

Decent seals, ok zipper, doesn't transfer a lot of water. Only had on a few lower 50's dives, has held up fine so far. Can don/doff as easy as any suit of this nature. I went from a 7 farmer plus a 7 shorty coat to this plus a 5 shorty. Better movement, less weight, no discernible temp difference. I fashion myself a pretty flexible guy and can't quite get the zipper closed on my own. Not a drysuit zipper. Flows so little water, I wouldn't pee in it. I'm a medium to medium short in most things and the small worked for me. Docked a star for the inability to suit up solo like the other front zips and zipper quality

I absolutely love this suit. I dive Oregon Coast with very sharp rocky jetties to climb over in and out and 50 degree water. First the suit holds up very well over the rocks. Keeps me very warm. Had a bad judgment day and ended up in the water for 4.5 hrs until Coast guard could locate and get me out of the water. Cold but alive and well. Our conditions here change quite quickly small waves become very large ones and need a durable suit when climbing over rocks being bashed by waves. Hand down a best buy suit. I am 6'2" 225# bought the largest size and it is snug. That is the only recommendation is to buy it bigger- size chart when I bought mine is no helpful. If your bigger than I am find a different suit.

Had the suit for ten dives then some teeth in the zipper fall out. Sent the suit back and now I have to wait 6-7 weeks for a repair or replacement.

Bought this suit about 1 year ago and have used it in water to 60 degrees. It is very warm and flexible, while it is not super easy to get into, it was easier than I expected for this type of suit. Having your dive buddy assist you makes it a lot easier. I have not used it on the north coast of California yet were the water is in the low 50's but I expect it to perform well based on my other dives.

I bought this suit January '15 and have been on many dives since. This suit is by far the best one I have ever put on. I have been diving for about 10 years now and I have never found a suit that fit better, or kept me as warm in the Cold waters of California. It is extremely comfortable to wear and it is super flexible to move around in. there are no pinch spots or seams that rub or anything. I will always wear this suit. I just hope they never discontinue it because I will never dive another suit other than a dry suit.

ML fits me pretty well (5'10", 180#, 33" waist, 42" chest, 32" inseam). Suit is pretty difficult to get into, more difficult to get out of (esp at the feet). I needed help closing the zipper. Water intrusion is a bit higher than my experience with the Hollis. It wasn't terrible, but not quite as 'semi-dry' as I had hoped. Neoprene is good quality and did a nice job warming me up after the initial chill of getting in the water (which highlights the higher than normal water intrusion). I was diving in 64-66 degree water and was able to do 50min dives without too much of a chill. FYI, I'm prone to getting cold so ymmv. The construction of the suit looks great from the outside (seams are sealed, decent zipper, hood is vented, inner seals at right spots, etc). However, I was very disappointed to see the seams unraveling only after a few dives (inside left arm). This shouldn't happen and now I'm forced to send the damn thing back. Why Aqua Lung didn't seal the seams the same way on the inside as they did on the outside is beyond me. Laziness? But, since the suit is failing only after a few dives, I cannot recommend this to others. FYI, I have logged > 3,000 dives in all sorts of conditions. I know wetsuits.

This is by far the best cold water wetsuit I own. I am not going to sit here and tell you it is easy to put on, or you will be able to move or maneuver like you had a 3MM wetsuit. Once you put this wetsuit on your ability to maneuver will be cut by one third. With that said, the integrated hood eliminates the bulkiness of a conventional hood or water entry due to zippers and seams. I personally used this wetsuit to dive in 44F - 46F degree water and I was comfortable all four 45-52 minute dives. So, know that when you wear this wetsuit you will be wearing the best protection available without having to wear a dry suit. My advice is make sure your buddy gives you a hand when it comes to putting on the upper half of the suit to ensure you are not going to have unnecessary bulkiness.

I clean hulls for a living and up until I bought this suit I froze in the winter months with the water temp in the 50's. Since donning this suit I can stay in 6 to 8 hours with no warmth issues. In fact if I am scrubbing hard I find myself letting water in so I can cool down a bit. I love this suit!

I have used this wetsuit in California for 500+ dives so far over 3+ years. I usually have to get a new wetsuit after 6 months to a year. I'm about to buy another - the first time I've ever bought the same wetsuit twice.

This suit is the bomb! if you are into cold water diving and are not ready/willing to go the dry suit route it provides a very toasty fairly easy to put on/off match with fairly spot on sizing (I'm 6'1" 250lbs 46"chest and 40" waist and the 3XL fits just about perfect). It's great prior to the first thermocline (almost too warm) and after the first thermocline it's perfect... you don't feel any of the cold until you hit the second thermocline (below 45' in Minnesota) and then it's just a pleasant bit of cool... not cold at all.

I used this suit to dredge in Alaska, and it did the trick. down 2-2.5 hours at a time and stayed warm. take extra weights to hold you down. I would have no problem recommending this to a friend.

I normally wear a L or XL. I ordered and XL originally and returned it due to chest zipper being difficult to close(I'm a 44" chest).Leisure Pro is awesome with returns so don't hesitant to order and try on in your house. I exchanged the XL for a 2XL and dove for the first time today. Suit easy to don once you get the hang of it and it comes off easily once wet. I tried to take it off dry and it was certainly more difficult. I am 6'1" tall and weigh 219 lbs., I consider myself an athletic build with large thighs.

This suit is just as warm as all the question/answers say. I dive in Southern CA and the water temp rarely gets below 50, so this suit is more than adequate. However, as some of the answers have implied, I think the suit runs a bit small. I'm 5'9", 160 and the medium is a real bear (no pun intended) to don and doff.

First let me say that I dive in Ohio, which means quarries and cold water. I have owned this suit for 3+ years and it does just what is advertised. This suit is the ticket for anyone who can't tolerate being cold. I have run into cold water but have not been cold at all except my hands. I have little doubt I could probably dive comfortably in low 40F water with this suit. I can say this because I been in 50F water in a 5mm Aqua Flex w/hood and been toasty other than my hands taking a beating from not bringing heavy enough gloves. With this suit, there will not be the dreaded surge of cold water down the back due to the attached hood. Water exchange seems to be minimal at best. I read a lot of reviews before I invested in a good cold water suit and this suit is great. There are a few negatives but not enough to off set all the positives. I would highly recommend using any skin or rash guard of choice to help with donning and doffing this suit it really does help a lot!! The other issue is buoyancy. It will take more weight to get submerged so be prepared. This issue is inherent w/any thicker wet suit. Now even though the suit is thick, it is not, I repeat, it is not stiff at all. Conversely, the material is really stretchy and does not impair mobility in the least. The added stretch also has another benefit. It will allow additional layering for more protection against the cold. I have no doubt I could easily get a 2mm shorty on under this suit w/o an issue. This would put 10 mm on the core. There's at least one diver out there who dives his suit this way per his review. All in all, this suit was a must have when I bought mine from my dive shop and prices have come down since then. I recently saw a 5mm SolAfx while shopping on line and couldn't believe it. I had no idea that Aqua Lung had integrated the same features into a lighter suit so I jumped on it immediately. I haven't been in the water w/ the new suit yet but it fits like a glove and is quite comfortable. If being cold is an issue that shortens a dive or makes a dive less enjoyable this suit is an absolute must!! Dive safe and dive often peace!!!

A little difficult to put on/off initially but just needed to learn how. I spend up to 6 hours in colder water (50-70 deg. F) cleaning boats. I stay warm and suit is flexible for ease of movement.

The SolAfx is Aqualung's most advanced wetsuit, with unique features like an integrated hood and internal arm and leg cuffs. The redesigned SolAfx suit now includes Aqualung's X-Tend cuffs, providing a finished look with maximum stretch. It has new environmentally friendly features, such as the non-P.A.H. (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) neoprene. Unique designs are specially tailored for men and women. The suit provides maximum warmth, thanks to its 8mm torso and 7mm arms and legs. X-tend cuff technology provides a finished look without sacrificing stretch by removing restrictive edge tape. Environmentally friendly features: neoprene free of P.A.H. (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons), made from a non-petroleum-based material, and has REACH (European Union standards) approved thread. 8mm AquaFlex neoprene used in the torso with 7mm AquaFlex neoprene on the legs and arms for added flexibility. Liquid Fusion Seam Technology with reinforcing patches on the inside at seam junctions enhances the durability and integrity of the seams.
The suit has an across-the-chest "Plasmaloc" zipper with tighter tolerances and a unique integrated tooth design that makes the zipper more water resistant than most other brands. This minimizes water exchange and allows you to remain warm throughout your dive. Silicone no slip shoulder feature provides added protection and helps to keep the BC shoulder straps in place. A water dam covers the neck and shoulders, providing an additional layer of thermal protection against any water entering through the zipper. Skin-in gasket seals in the forearms and calves minimize water entry through the sleeves and legs. Lower back pad helps keep water out. The outer nylon material is resistant to abrasions and "hook-and-loop" snags due to the tighter weave to keep your suit looking good! The inner material is ultra-soft making these suits easy to don and doff.
An improved Powertex kneepad offers increased flexibility while offering excellent abrasion resistance. Pre-bent anatomic legs and arms provide a more comfortable fit and reduce bunching of material at the joints. The attached hood offers G2 Vent Technology that allows trapped regulators exhaust bubbles to exit while keeping cold water out. Suit has an YKK # 10 zipper closure, all seams are glued, blind stitched and liquid rubber coated. The Super-Stretch neoprene has 4-way stretch for easy donning and doffing. Suit is available in multiple sizes.
