Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Nancy G : The Aqua Lung Side Draft snorkel was recommended by my dive instructor. I particularly like the rubber tab enclosure that attaches it to the mask. I recently completed the PADI open water course and am now certified!

a simple but great snorkel

I am an instructor, and I have used and found many snorkels, but for almost 20 years, this has been my favorite. (1) the rubber button attachment to the mask is simple, easily added/removed and doesn't break. (2) the drain valve is at a nice angle for draining and where you can see and clean it (e.g. if it has sand in it). (3) complex heavy keep-water-out attachments actually reduce the usability of a snorkel. If you take a snorkel under water, there will be water in it when you surface ... deal with it. The very simple cover at the top of this snorkel is light and keeps out spash, which is about all I can hope for.

The Aqua Lung Side Draft snorkel is designed to minimize resistance and vibration in the water due to its unique tube profile and provides a tried-and-true snorkel with many great features for the price. The unique air vent virtually eliminates splash water entry and provides an opening greater than the tube bore for excellent clearing. Large reservoir at the base keeps residual water out of the breathing path. Patented Comfo-Bite mouthpieces, which does not require the user to clench their teeth, eliminate jaw fatigue. An optional, smaller size Comfo-Bite is available. Comfo-Bite mouthpieces are replaceable. Elliptical tube profile and streamlined body reduce resistance & vibration in water.
