This is my second pair of Aqua Lung Slingshots. I have over 300 dives with them! They are really perfect for swimming against high flow or strong currents. I use them for cave diving - especially at Ginnie Springs, High Springs, FL. I recommend them. They are kind of long though and may be difficult to use in high silt areas of cave diving.

Have made 6 dives now with my new fins of choice. They replaced my good old blades that I will still use on some work dives. These new sling shots are great. They don nice and have great control with little effort. The only down side is I had a bit of a problem un- clipping them. I did have 5 mil gloves on and the buttons are just a bit smaller than the Blades were. All in all these are great fins. I would strongly recommend to all my dive buddies!

This is my second pair the first set lasted 8 years before I lost one in the surf. The bands need to be replaced every 2 or 3 seasons. Bought a new set as they were looking pretty beat up anyway. They are easy on your knees and legs. Seem to provide good power and speed with minimal work. The price is excellent, a great value for equipment of this quality.

These are the same model fin I used during my scuba certification. They really move a lot of water, making it easy to swim without a lot of effort. They are also adjustable so that you can effect how much water you move with each kick.

The Slingshots were recommended by a dive master during a trip to Key West. My old fins worked well but I experienced minor fatigue in my lower leg and even soreness a day after diving because the old fins were more rigid. The Slingshot design provides more flex and less resistance in the water while still providing excellent propulsion. I recently used these fins on a trip to Cozumel and really liked their performance. I noticed several other divers at the resort with Slingshot fins and Aqualung's travel version - the Hotshots.

These are great fins, the only thing I notice about them is that they are Long! A little harder to travel with than most, but the performance is spot on.

I LOVE these fins! Being fairly new to diving (25 dives), I've been using the fins my dive shop told me to buy and never really thought fins made a lot difference. They were middle of the road fins and I saw a lot of other divers using them. (Guess we go to the same dive shop.) I've always had a hard time keeping up with my dive buddy and figured it was because, being a woman, my legs are not as powerful. Thought it had something to do with him being so much taller, having more experience or having a better technique. Also, when we had to go against a current I had to work really hard to make headway and just wore myself out. I decided to do some homework on fins. Finally decided to try out these Sling Shots. OMG! First time out in the first few kicks I could feel the difference in these fins. These suckers put some serious power in your kick. No problem keeping up with my buddy, making it better for him too since he didn't have to reduce speed for me. And current, what current? Adjusting the tension is easy, even under water while wearing them. This really gives you control when your needs change. These fins have brought my diving experience to a new level....something I never thought a pair of fins could do. The only "con" I can come up with is color choice. What can I say? I'm a girl, I'd like some choices.

This is my second pair - the first are about 4 or 5 years old - I let beginners and students use them if needed when leading a dive I uses both ( different colors )

I do much salvage and cave diving from a rocky shore. Currents are unpredictable and I normally carry a lot of weight on my back (Steel 120) and in my bags so the power of the fins and efficiency are critical to my success while increasing my time in the water. Bought the fins about 4 years ago from my dive shop slightly used. They are very familiar with the type of diving I do and recommended the power as being a big benefit. Yes, the bands break especially when getting nicked on the rocks, big deal, bring extra bands. I changed the heel strap to a spring for fast donning from the rocks. Big foot pocket to accommodate 7mm hard soled boots. I have about 400 dives on these fins and they are plenty scared up but still work very well, no drop off in performance. Will wear them until they die then get another pair. A great fin for pushing a lot of weight while reducing leg, foot fatigue.

I have used these fins for the past 3 years and love them! I liked them so much that when I lost one of my blue ones, I went out and bought another pair of the exact same fins. However, only the red ones were in stock at the time, so I bought them and started diving with one red fin and one blue one...it was super useful as a dive master to keep my dive groups from getting confused about who they were supposed to be following in the water on those crowded dive sites! I usually keep the bands on the middle setting but tighten them to the third setting for a strong current. They perform great in currents and are powerful. My only complaint is that one of the power bands wore out and snapped in the fin that I've been using for less time. The bands in the original fin that I've had for 3 years are still fine, so I'm not sure of the cause. I'm a little disappointed but then again I did have about 500 dives on that one so perhaps I shouldn't complain that it lasted that long...and I guess that's where my spare fin came in handy. However, I would highly suggest keeping spare bands if you only have the normal amount of 2 fins for when one snaps, they are very easy to replace. Also, the fins are a bit long which can make it tough fitting them in my luggage whenever I travel, but this could be the case with a lot of types of fins...

So far I've used these on a cold water shore dive and 2 boat dives. One of the boat dives was in very strong current yet these fins still gave great performance.

My daughter and I use this fins regularly and we find these sets of fins efficient and comfortable to use. Every after the end of the dive day and after at least 3 dives in a day we share the same experience of having total comfort and absolute no strain in our legs and feet.

Enjoyed diving with these fins. Made propulsion nearly effortless. Also like the adjustable tension on the fins.

A great fin, you can't feel so many difference between a "speed" or another but after a few kicks you will feel it. It's also a pretty heavy fin, but not so much. Español: Una gran chapaleta, no sientes mucho la diferencia entre una "velocidad" y otra, pero luego de algunas patadas se siente. Adicionalmente se nota algo pesada la chapaleta, pero no demasiado.

I have now used these fins for two years (over 70 dives). Great fins. Fast and comfortable. The adjustments work. Good in medium current at the 2 or 3 setting. Tougher than anticipated. Just replaced one of the slings. Took two minutes. Strongly recommend you have a spare sling or two in your save a dive kit.

I purchased these fins based on the Scuba Lab reviews from 2010 where they were ranked #2 following the ScubaPro Sea Nova. It was a last minute purchase, so I relied heavily on reviews left by other seasoned divers. I chose these despite critiques that they were heavy due to reported fragility of the Sea Nova hinge. I just returned from a dive trip and am thrilled I chose these fins. Their weight is not significant, especially once you're in the water (did not have to change weights on account of the fins). What I did notice was how fast and efficient these fins truly were. They were easy on my joints, fit my booties perfectly not causing numbness at any point in the dive, and made me the most agile and speedy diver under the water. I didn't use the gear settings, so I am unable to review that feature. Bottom line: You will not be disappointed with these fantastic fins. Between these and my previous ScubaPro fins, I would definitely go with Aqua Lung.

Have used these fins on last 9 dives to include the 7th when one of the buckle attachments on the fin failed. Currently am using these fins in Africa with one side tied up with string... still working though. Would like an inside scoop on replacement buckles to bring it back up to "issued" status.

These fins are too heavy in relation to the thrust they put out. In other words, if you are going to sport a heavy fin then it should put out some thrust, the slingshot is way heavy and little to moderate thrust.. The slingshot adjustable feature has 3 settings, 2 of which are useless in any type of current (too loose). Setting 3 gives you the most tension and the fins work okay in this setting, however there are silicone bands that are attached to the foot pocket (slingshot system) and they are starting to show serious ware after less than a year with small chunks missing at the point where the band attaches to the foot pocket. If the band were to snap off while diving you would have no use of the fin. Too many moving parts for this to be reliable for any serious or avid rec diver.

As a military diver i have tried just about every fin under the sun. Everything from the original rockets to force fins to bio fins and let me tell you the slingshots are head and shoulders above the rest. They greatly reduce fatigue and cramping. If you arent the fastest finner, the slingshots are very efficient. I am a very strong finner and i frequently have to reduce the setting to "1" when diving with others, if not i find myself stopping and waiting for everyone else :) I was very ...

Amazing!

These fins are amazing. Exactly what I expected out of high end fins. They are extremely comfortable. There is no strain or pressure on the top of my foot or ankles. The best way to describle them is they allow you to propel yourself smoothly and comfortably. They are truly the best fins I have tried and well worth the money.
When someone says the word "Slingshot", most people gain mental images of something moving fast and adeptly. Those images are key to Aqua Lung's new Slingshot Fins. The Slingshot Fins will help you move through the water with Speed and Ease you never thought possible. These Fins brag of having Power Bands, which are basically Coiled Energy waiting to Spring-into-Action as you Fin. Pure Silicone Power Bands are Loaded-with-Energy on the Power Stroke. They Release their Energy Prior-to-the-Upstroke to provide an Added Boost of Power. Instead of Wasting your Energy, you Accumulate-it-and-Reclaim it! Power Bands Lessen Fatigue and Add Thrust.
The Mid-Foot Joint Increases the Slingshot's Flexibility, which will make each Kick more Efficient and Comfortable, partially due to the fact it move the source of your Kicks from the Front of your Foot to the Entire Leg. This takes the Strain off of the Toes and the Top of the Ankle. The result is a Dramatic Improvement in Comfort. You can now use the Entire Foot to Power the Fin. This provides the Blade a Significantly Larger Range of Motion, often up to 5 times that of a conventional fin.
Finally, much like a Car or High-End Bicycle has a Gear Shift, so do the Slingshot Fins. The Gear Shift allows you choose one of three Settings to Control your Energy and Effort Levels in Response to your Diving Conditions. Easy to Shift During-the-Dive, the three Settings can be made even with Gloves. Because these Fins contain Harnessed Energy and an Ingenious Design, you'll experience Less Fatigue and Joint Pain and more Enjoyment than you would wearing any other fins. The Slingshot Fins come equipped with Adjustable Fin Straps with Squeeze-Style" Quick-Release Buckles and the Straps have a Large Pull-Tab for Ease of Donning and Doffing. These Open Heel Non-Vented Fins are available in 3 sizes of Small, Medium or Large/X-Large and are available in Silver/Black or Silver/Blue colors. The Slingshot Fins are covered by a 24 month limited warranty.
