Questions & Answers

GINA P : Do you have positive optical goggles?darrick c : Hello Gina, these only show in a negative lens. Do not have the positive version.
Ileana O : My son would like to use this glasses for swimming but also when he is playing outside around the pool area. which glasses would you recommend, the clear ones or the fog ones? thxCAROL E : Personally I would go with clear, but the smoke ones are not that dark and can also be worn outside the pool.MARIE F : My son uses the fog ones for swimming and they are clear under water. However, he says it's hard to see with the fog ones outside of the water.REN E R : I swim a lot in open water and in the pool. If it is outdoors and it is a sunny summer's day I prefer the tinted lenses. At night time or indoors I use the clear goggles. Same with my regular glasses, I use sunglasses in bright conditions and my regular glasses indoors and at night. However I am swimming quite often and can justify having several pairs of goggles.
OLIVIA P : where is the size chart for these goggles?MARIE F : These are one size fits all. My son's came with two types of nose pieces for differences in eye width. We have had no trouble fitting my husband nor my son.NANCY S : They only come on one size. The number you are selecting is for the stock glasses prescription (like -6 or -7) for the lenses, and should be the closest number to your own prescription for your eyeglasses. Mine was the max, -8 --extremely nearsighted. If you don't have it you could check with your eye doctor.CAROL E : There is no size chart, but the nose piece and straps are adjustable.
rocio s : My daughter has 3.25 od while os its 225 what googles does she need?Patricia G : Eye professionals recommend not getting more power than you need. You have a few options: (1) Two pairs of goggles with fully adjustable nose bridge to combine and create one pair to your specifications; OR (2) Compromise, wearing one pair of goggles at the lower power (-2) for imperfect but clearer vision; OR (3) Consult an eye professional on the advisability of compromising with one pair at the higher power (-3).LYNN A : Sorry, I can't answer that question. One of the pairs I bought was for a 9 something or the other, I noticed that the size list offered, at that time, both negative and positive numbers. My guess would be to purchase a 3 with the thought that she could at least see, if not exactly like with her glasses, but close enough for the time she would be using them. Given the list, I might also check with her optometrist to see which number he might recommend to provide an acceptable, if not perfect, view.LYNNE R : My grandson also has a difference resulting in us ordering a compromise. I would suggest getting a correction of -2.50. your daughter should be able to swim with that correction comfortably. My grandson was thrilled to be able to swim and see, even though the correction wasn't equal to his land lenses. Water does magnify. You could always check with the eye doctor, but he or she will probably suggest custom ordered swim goggles. I can't begin to tell you how much we love having access to these--he is almost legally blind and was afraid of swimming until we got him these goggles as a trial and he now swims like a fish and we are so appreciative--doubt if ordering custom goggles from the eye doctor would have given him any better lease on life. We have ordered a replacement pair and intend to always have a spare. Hope your daughter does well with hersRonald J : Optical Rx are measured as - for nearsighted and + for farsighted. If you can see OK close up but not in the distance, you are nearsighted and need a negative prescription. For example my test is 20/200 and my rx is -3.0. if you have astigmatism or other complicating factors consult your optometrist, but lower cost goggles at a slightly higher diopter will usually do the job.In your case it sounds like your daughter is farsighted and would need about a + 3.5 or more. Dr Ron Johansen Portland Oregon
Cindy P : Its this in a store a in Manhattan? I need a +2.5 or 3.0YAN G : These are negative diopter lenses, not positive. Check these out that do offer a positive correction: http://www.leisurepro.com/p-viwpcl/view-swim-platina-corrective-lens. We do have these in the store.

Great value, surpassed expectations

Tried these for OWS as I am very nearsighted and only wear glasses. Was very happy to be able to see for first time during a swim! Fit well and held up even against most waves/rougher conditions.

Outstanding!

Bought these goggles for a trip to Hawai'i. Worked perfectly. The corrective lenses were so accurate, I could have driven my car wearing them! Highly recommended. Why did I wait so long to get goggles like these.? Got to see clearly the undersea life of Hawai'i. Thank you so much

nice optics

I needed prescription goggles so I could read the white board next to the pool; I was taking a swimming class. The optics in these goggles are fine. I had a small bit of trouble with the fit, but that could just be my face. The right lens sealed to my face perfectly, but the left lens always let in a few drops of water.

Corrective goggles

Delivered fast and in new condition. Love these Tyr corrective goggles. Comfy and watertight even with loose-ish fit. Decent optical quality too.

Bad product

These goggles became foggy immediately—never before a problem with these when purchased elsewhere, so I assume they were poorly stored. I would never buy here again.

Quality Swim Goggle

This is our second pair of these quality goggles. My son wears them daily for swim team practice as well as recreational swimming. The first pair were recently retired only because I trimmed the straps a little short for a growing boy and we decided to purchase a new pair rather than searching for a new strap.

TYR Corrective Optical Swim Goggles

Excellent to wear but they don't last long due to fogging that we can't see while swimming. Hope that the manufacture will come up with a different kind of materials that won't get so foggy too soon.

Awesome

These swim goggles are awesome! For the first time in my life, I can see while swimming. They aren't a completely tight fit (some water leaks in), but I don't care! I can see!

It's so nice to see again!

These goggles are wonderful. My vision with these is awesome! I got the tinted ones and I'm glad I did. I swim at an outdoor public pool in California and it's very sunny out! I can see in and out of the pool. And they keep the water out, but they have to be on pretty tight. Another plus, I can swill for 30 minutes before they start to fog up. If you've been holding off, don't! Buy them now, you will be happy you did.

Great goggles!

Great fit. I have a small face and a narrow bridge, so goggles often are too big...these are great; very snug and don't leak. I'm a recreational lap swimmer (with poor vision!) so these are terrific. I've owned them before, and they DO fog up after a few months, but you should get 4 to 6 months of swimming several times per week out of each pair. I think that's as good as any goggles I've ever had. I definitely recommend the optical lenses for people who have poor vision. (Just ask your optician which he/she would recommend you buy) and you'll be fine -- you're not looking for perfect vision, but you'll be so happy to be able to see the swimmers sharing your lane! Service and delivery were terrific -- fast, etc.

great corrective lenses

A great pair of corrective lenses. Easily adjustable and pretty comfortable pair of googles for training. Don't think they would be usable for competition as they would fall off upon diving in. But certainly more comfortable than competition corrective lenses like the speedo.
