The Helicopter Emergency Egress Device 3 (HEED 3) manufactured by Submersible Systems, LLC. is a compact, lightweight and reliable self-contained breathing apparatus. The HEED 3 is designed to increase the survivability of military and commercial personnel in short-term out-of-air emergencies. Provides lifesaving air needed to egress from a downed aircraft or a rolled vehicle in the water. Ideal for all helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, float planes, watercraft and vehicles that operate around possible water emergencies. Protects personnel from inhaling dangerous and lethal toxic fumes from fire or smoke. The HEED 3 is also known as the SEED (Supplementary Emergency Escape Device), the STASS (Short Term Air Supply System), Spare Air (The SCUBA recreational dive version), Spare Air Industrial (packaged for commercial personnel exposed to toxic fumes), Spare Air Escape (includes a mask to aid home users in escape from smoke and fire), and Xtreme Sport (Spare Airs smallest model for Kayakers, Surfers and other extreme sport enthusiasts). The HEED 3 is available in 3 models including a 1.7 cu. ft. model with 20"/27" (51cm/68.6cm) flexible braided hoses. All HEED 3 cylinders are available with either CE or DOT tank markings. The 1.7 cubic foot (48 liter) model is more than 16 oz (454g) lighter than competing models, under 9" (23cm) tall, the HEED 3 is the smallest emergency breathing device on the market. The 1.7 cubic foot (48 liter) models without hose and with hose have the following specifications: Dimensions (L x Dia.) 8.75 x 2.25" (22 x 5.7cm)/ 9.25 x 2.25" (23.5 x 5.7cm), weight 1.5 lbs. (680g)/ 3 lbs. (1.36kg), volume 1.7 cu. ft. (48L), duration of air supply approximately 32 breaths*, maximum cylinder pressure 3000 psi (207 bars).

The 3.0 cu. ft. (85 liter) 3.0 HEED model has the following specifications: Dimensions (L x Dia.) 13.4 x 2.25" (34 x 5.7cm), weight 2.2 lbs. (980g), volume 3.0 cu. ft. (85L), duration of air supply approximately 57 breaths*.

Deluxe dial gauge pressure indicator standard on every unit. Includes custom holster to attach to a modular-type vest, ideal for Switlik Modular Aircrew Vest. Mouthpiece cover and lanyard included. CE approved - Tanks on units shipped to Europe are CE approved to meet current European Safety Standards required for all compressed gas cylinders and are properly CE marked.

Note:All Spare Air HEED 3 cylinders meet certificated specifications of the US Department of Transportation (DOT) with DOT-3AA specification and Transport Canada Safety and Security (TC) with TC-3AAM specifications. Spare Air HEED 3 have a maximum cylinder pressure of 3000 psi (207 bars) and come with an owner's manual.
