Questions & Answers

Thomas B : Does this Triton fin float?Mario C : yes, positive : )MARK A : Yes they do float but remember they only come in black so it depends where you are diving they may be hard to see off your feet in the water. They also help enormously swimming parallel to the ocean floor with your ability to hover and maintain good bcRODGER G : Yes and they help cause my feet Are heavyGREG L : YesRICHARD D : Positively buoyant - yes
BOB B : how long are these fins?WILLIAM B : The blade from the front of the shoe pocket to the tip of the blade is about 14 inches. The overall length of the fin from the back of the shoe pocket to the tip of the blade is about 24 3/4inches.Alan T : Mine are the xl and are 26"
David H : What is the depth of the foot pocket for the different sizes?TONY P : 7.5 inches on the top of the foot, 11" on the bottom to the heel for the fin labeled Large.Max F : Dave, I would encourage you to not buy a size based on the vamp depth. Since this is a free heel design it is able to accommodate booties and bare feet because of the dual adjustment on the heel strap. That question would be much more pertinent when buying a slipper fin. If you are considering the tritons, worry more about the width because these fins can adjust to suit different lengths off feet and booties. You should not have any issues with these fins if you select the proper width. I hope this helps.DENNIS F : I am not sure how to measure this. I have a size Large. The top flap is about 7.5". The bottom is about 11.5"
JOHN B : I have a size 9 thick soled boot (sneaker soul), what size fin would you recommend?NATHAN T : I can only tell you what my experience is with the sizing...you will have to make your best decision. I wear a 12 boot and ordered a large fin. With the 12 boot thick sole the fin seem slightly large to me. I have 3/4 of an inch in the toe box and my foot is all the way into the foot pocket as far as my foot arch will allow. Now they swim fine with the thicker boot but with the thinner boot my foot moves around in the pocket enough for me not to use the fin with any boot other than the thicker sole. With my soft sole 12 boot (for boat diving so thinner material and thinner sole) the large fin is too big in my opinion. Large is to fit 11-15 shoe size so I felt that it would fit my perfectly but it does depend on the boot.....Since my size is closer to the bottom limit of the size chart I probably should have gone with the medium fin for a better fit with the thinner boot as I bought these fins for ocean diving which I do from boats.
Mikel T : What size of strap should i buy for Sherwood Triton regular size fin and what sock or boot do you recommend me to swim fastr with them in swimming surface competition i have 8.5 euro foot. What strap do you recommend me?YAN G : This item comes with adjustable rubber straps. Not sure that a boot style would make a difference, but probably something with a thinner sole would be best. Check the size chart for size. The rubber bungee strap is good, or go with a spring strap.

Versatile fin for travel

Nice fins. Light and short for travel they float and are great for maintaining a parallel buoyancy while scuba diving or snorkeling. About 4/5 for hard finning through current. But for light recreational diving they are great

A worthy replacement

I bought these to replace a pair of Tusa Liberators I have been using since the early '80s. They have the same good power without being quite as stiff. They are lighter, feel comfy. The foot pocket fits my high instep decently. Comfortable with both 3 and 5mm boots. X-Large on my size 11 EE feet. 5mm is snug.

Not a bad pair of fins

I purchased these after discussion with Sherwood's product rep. Prior to this pair of fins I was using Sherwood's Kinesis EX fins. Unfortunately after nearly 15 yrs I had some small tears and wanted a replacement pair. These do not have the same amount of overall thrust in current that my old fins had but did offer a little more control. If the Kinesis EX fins were still available I would have preferred them over the Tritons, but still a decent pair of fins. I have to say they have a very comfortable foot pocket and are fairly light weight

Sherwood Triton Fins

I am a little old school. I have been diving with Dacor Turbo III fins since the 1980s. I have not tried these in open water yet, so far they have the look and feel of my old fins without all the weight

Sherwood Triton Fins Review - Scuba Gear Reviews

Wore these for the first time doing surf dives in Bonaire a few weeks ago and they were great. Easy on and off with the side tighten straps and quick release mechanisms. Over 18 dives without a single cramp or pain. Great propulsion in the water allowed me to keep up with a few sea turtles and stronger beach currents. Only down side for use in Bonaire was the length of the blade so I hit a few reefs when in low buoyancy mode. If they come out with a similar model with shorter blades I will purchase those too. Enjoy the water and dive safe.

Wish they were stiffer

I was looking for a replacement for my heavy all rubber jet fin type fins, these would be perfect for my trim except they just aren't stiff enough to move tech gear in a current

Poor for adaptive

I'm an adaptive diver, these didn't have the thrust I need. Went back to my Blades.

Nice fins

I'm coming from a split fin, and I love this set of fins! Lots more power and very efficient. Legs never get tired. Positively buoyant! Kept my heavy legs from sinking, and helped me maintain horizontal.

Awesome fins!

LeisurePro rocks and so do these fins! I've been an old school Jet Fin fan for 30 years but recently bought the Trident from the good folks at LeisurePro. The Trident has the power and acceleration I look for when diving NorCal's cold waters and unlike my Jet Fins are positive buoyant making them great for cruising over tropical reefs. They are also pretty light weight making them good for travel and really comfortable to wear. They are a little harder to backward fin with but otherwise great.

Like these fins ... Live up to the dive

I have been using split find but after a recent trip I decided that I wanted a more powerful fin. After reading some good reviews about the Tritons I decided to give them a shot. They were as advertised, good powerful stroke with a flexible yet firm fin. To me it seemed like these run a little larger than the Tusa that I have been using so if possible I would recommend trying a pair if you can.

Looks old school , but the all-new Triton by Sherwood is a new fin with three vents between the foot pocket and blade that provide additional thrust on the down kick and decrease drag on the up kick or recovery. Foot pocket shape and size derived from years of research to satisfy the most exciting requirements for comfort and power. The Triton Fin is positively buoyant and floats if they come off. This open heel fin has adjustable straps with quick-release buckles and a large heel pull tab that combined for easy donning and doffing. The fin blades ribbed design focuses the water down the length of the blade for increased power and thrust. The Sherwood Triton Fins are made from a lightweight, durable Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) material. Recent testing by Scuba Lab shows the Sherwood Triton as best for power & acceleration and Sport Diver Magazine gave them the Editors' choice award for 2015. Fins weigh only 3.9 lbs. (1.77 kg) per pair making them great for travel.
