Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is there any difference between user changeable battery between this and Zoop Nuovo?Mario C : Thank you for your question. They both use the same User-Replaceable 3 Volt CR2450 Lithium-Ion Battery.
MARK R : I've read that the newer Zoop Novo has a 'deep stop' feature, that this earlier model doesn't have. Exactly what is a "deep stop" feature, and how important/useful is it? Thanks.....Christopher C D : “Deep stops” are a method of controlling bubble formation in some body tissues during decompression dive ascents. The trade off is that while some tissues are better protected others are still ongassing and you need possibly longer stops at shallower depths to account for this. This topic is widely debated in the technical diving and dive medics communities. The Zoop’s decompression algorithm uses “deep stops” in the ascent profile it generates for you. As a recreational diver, diving to no more than 130fsw and staying within No Decompression Limits this is irrelevant. The Zoop is a reliable, easy to use dive computer and it’s decompreasion algorithm is well suited for recreational diving.
MARK R : What pins are used to secure the band? Are they a standard size that's easily found, or an expensive proprietary pin, that isn't?JACK M : Hard to say looks like a bigger than normal pin have not used mine make an offer
MARK R : I've read that Suunto doesn't support these discontinued models. Is this correct? Does LP provide any warranty or after-purchase support?KEVIN F : This model comes with a full 2 year warranty from the manufacturer. Warranty issues can be processed through LP or Suunto. If you have a warranty issue that can't be fixed by them, then the usual course of action is to provide the upgraded model.
Shopper : IS THIS A NEW PRODUCT OR REFURBISHED?MARU S : All computers that i bought were new...

love it

As someone who started diving in 1968 when we didn't even have gauges I have always kind of thought computers were a step too far. I was wrong, I love this easy to use computer. I don't have anything to compare it to as its my first computer, but it was easy to set up and I love it.

A Sunto failure

We had high hopes for this dive computer but it proved to be worse than useless. Oh, it works ok, I guess, but the user interface is bizarre and confusing. Even with the manual in hand, good luck with changing the settings or down-loading the log. Under water it got worse, beeping incessantly and without apparent reason. My dive buddy thinks it was warning us we had gotten wet. She wanted to "lose it" off the wall and hope it would implode as vengeance. We retired it and drag it along as a dry spare but hope never to use it again.

died

Zoop died after light use for a year had it replaced for free, the new zoop did not work at all.... customer service was mediocre. Ended up getting a higher end Sunnto d4i. So far so good with that one.

Affordable but frustrating

This is a real love/hate computer. It has all the features, but running back and forth through the menus is a real pain, especially while diving. Data download to a laptop is via the world's absolutely worse electrical connector ever conceived. And the software for logging the data and dive profile is rather basic.

Excellent computer

Extremely easy to use computer. I highly recommend this computer to my open water students. It has an easy plan/scroll mode and is very conservative which is especially nice for new divers.

Easy to read, Easy to use

Until they make a dive computer that is easy menu driven, this is the next best thing. I dive nitrox, Not hard to switch from standard to nitrox and put in your %. First time I just googled it and directions came right up, didn't have manual with me. After you do it once easy to repeat each day you dive. Regoogle for each trip though. I bought three, one for me and my two sons. All three together cost less than my husband oceanic. None of us have had any troubles. Battery still good after a year and 3 dive trips average 14 dives trip. I bought orange so it doesn't get lost in my bag! I would buy another if needed.

Been using my computer for over a yr and i love all the features it offers. The reason we chose suunto was that it's the most conservative compared to other brands

Used this computer last month in Galapagos for a week of diving and its works very well. Its designed for easy use and has a clear display. Of course you have to read the manual to get a good idea of how to use it. I love this computer, its a keeper!!!

Best for Beginners !!!!!

The Customer service of LeisurePro is just amazing. I would like to name some of the people I had talked with like Shae and others, and they all were very helpful all the time. Due to my mistake (i gave wrong address), the consignment got delayed but the customer care guys took all interest in helping me out.

Great purchase

Just used my computer for the first time yesterday. We were diving 10 miles out in the Atlantic with a depth of 60 feet. The display was easy to read and all of your relevant information is right there. The online class that you get when you purchase this computer is a life saver as this is my first computer. After taking the online class I was confident in my abilities to use the computer and after diving with it I am completely satisfied.

Great Basic Recreational Dive Computer

I love the simplicity of the Zoop. It shows me everything I need to see during a dive and the logbook function also shows your average depth which some computers don't do. Since it is also Nitrox capable, I don't need anything else for a recreational dive computer.

Great value

My husband and I each have two of these computers, one that we dive with as a back up. It is a conservative profile computer which is the way we want to dive. It has all of the information that you need without a bunch of bells and whistles. A great value for the price!

Great computer

The Zoop was very easy to set up. We watched the video a couple of times and we were ready to go. This was our first open water dive after certification. I was checking the zoop to the gauge on my BCD and they both always read the same on the depth. I wear glasses to read and the display is large enough to read without my glasses. The log book function is great as the information needed to fill out your log book is there (except the amount of air left in the tank after dive). We can not wait to go diving again and use the Zoop.

Suunto Zoop

I purchased the Suunto Zoop as I had another brand that I found too difficult to navigate my way around the functions. The Suunto Zoop is a winner. I learnt to use it quickly, the instructions are simple to follow and the computer has all the necessary functions. It is easy to navigate around the functions and locate the needed information. I would highly recommend this computer. Jo

Great Computer

By HokieCA

The Zoop is a great computer to have. Very easy to program and operate. The numbers are large and obvious. I have not used it with Nitrox, yet but I look forward to it. The alarm is a noticeable noise that will get your attention quickly. A hidden feature that I didn't know it had until I read the manual is that it switches modes if you over stay your NDL and the Zoop will automatically guide you through deco if you happen to encounter that. Also, very easy to switch the modes for Altitude di...

The ZOOP dive computer from Suunto is a wrist-mounted computer that will not only enhance your time under water; it will also help you be a safer diver without breaking the bank. Its ability to operate in two modes (Air and Nitrox), safety features (decompression stop data, audible alarms, and easy-to-read display), and simple menus mean the ZOOP will provide critical dive data when it is needed quickly and accurately. It employs the reduced gradient bubble model (RGBM), which is an algorithm developed to calculate decompression stops; this algorithm is a model used to determine how much gas is accumulated during a dive and how much time is required at your safety stop(s) to safely surface.

Suunto's ZOOP is PC-compatible, so you can easily store your dive data (up to 50 hours) and logs on a PC. It is activated by water, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to start your computer and losing a single dive's valuable data. Because this computer is wrist mounted, there's never a need to search for your gauge console when you want to check on your depth, maximum bottom time, dive time, and no deco time. All of that information is available at a moment's notice, right on your wrist In addition, the ZOOP's bright phosphorescent display makes seeing your dive data easy during night and day dives.

The ZOOP provides a depth display to 330' (100 meters), its clock can be set with a 12 or 24 hour format, provides temperature reading above and below the surface to 1.5° (1°C) accuracy and is altitude adjustable up to 10,000' (3,000 meters). The computer can be programed for Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 50% oxygen and displays oxygen partial pressures from 17.4 psi to 23.2 psi (1.2 to 1.6 bars). The ZOOP is powered by a user replaceable 3volt CR2450 lithium ion battery. The ZOOP can be set for imperial (feet) or metric (meter) measurements. Computer comes with a owner's manual and quick guide.
