Great way to log dives from my Koop Novo to DM5 software. Pricy. Instructions vague on how to attach to the Zoop but YouTube was a quick solve.

Cable works well. Needed more information on the software to download to use with it

The cable is obviously needed if you want to download your dive computer information into the DM5 software on a computer. DM5 is downloadable from the Suunto website and it is pretty good. Neither the cable or at least my Suunto Zoop Novo manual tell you how to connect the cable to the dive computer (and it's not intuitive). There is a small red dot on the connector to the dive computer. You have to place this dot up (facing the dive computer display), press it in slightly against a rubber seal, and rotate it clockwise about a quarter turn. My main gripe is that the cable should not cost $80+ and it should come standard with the dive computer. There were also no instructions or software provided with the cable - just the cable. Suunto needs to update their manual and/or provide appropriate instructions.

Its an expensive cable, but there is no alternative. It attaches easily and does what its supposed to do.

Leisurepro is not at fault for this cable confusion, rather it is a poorly updated wire from Suunto. I love my D4i, about 2 months ago decided to order this wire to load to my MAC. For the past 3 weeks, I have been on the phone and emailing Suunto customer support to figure out why this will not connect to my MAC or PC. Turns out the only way to know if this is the correct wire is the inside of the wire connector where the two prongs are located must be red - not the red dot on the outside of the connector. Do not buy this cable if you have an i series.

This is the most expensive USB cord I have ever bought, because the PC software did not work with Windows 7 - could not get the PC to recognize the connected computer. The cable is excellent but too expensive, hence the three stars. However, once you get the software to work, the product is very good, and now it follows the new data available from the latest computers. Like the old computer download software, which is useful to download your computer logs, especially if you suspect being bent.I bought this kit because I got an announcement that software for Macs was available. Now the software is available free from www.movescount.com, which allows you to download Suunto software for Macs and PCs. You have to download two pieces of software in the correct order, for Macs the first is Mono framework, and then DM4. For PCs you need to download first the drivers (I did not record the name of this software), then DM4. There are two types of PC software, one for Windows 7 and another for older OSs. If you are a hacker, you can go to this website to get the software. If not, call the help desk for Suunto in the US and they will help you to get the software. The website is user unfriendly because I did not know the order of downloads, and no instructions were available, so I called Suunto. My suggestion to Suunto is to lower the price of the cable, and add the costs of the software to the computers, but get a good website with instructions on how to download. Also, make sure that you can upgrade the computers and the software from the website in the future.

No drama, works perfectly. I use it with Macdive rather than the Sunnto Dive software as I do not use a PC - which makes it expensive for just a cable.

I have the Suunto D6 dive computer, and wanted to get the software to log the dives. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on a mac, something that I hadn't seen when I was shopping for the item. At the end of the day I found other software that runs on the mac and downloads the dives, however, before spending the money on a cable make sure it'll work on your mac or PC.

Easy to load and use. Works flawlessly. Only works with windows but is just as easy to use on Mac if you have parallels.

Writing in a log book is time consuming and if you don't have good handwriting illegible. Log books are small and difficult to fill in the blanks. The Suunto USB Download Kit is for uploading logbook dives to a PC/MAC in order to optionally store and organize the data, compute statistics, simulate dives and personalize the logbook file. Rather than filling out the logbook, just print out your log sheets to prove your diving experience. The USB cable enables you to connect your dive computer to Suunto DM5, available for PC and Mac. Compatible with Suunto Zoop Novo, Vyper Novo and D-Series Dive Computers. For Computers see SKU's: SQTZPN, SQTZPWBK, SQTVN, SQTZPNU, SQTZPNC, SQTDXTSL, SQTDXE, SQTDXESL, SQTD4IN, SQTD4INLE, SQTDXT, SQTD4IC, SQTD6IMW, SQTD6IZ, SQTD9TXRW, SQTD9TXTC, SQTD9TXTW.
