Battery failed after 6 months and less than 50 dives. Suunto customer service is non-existent in the US. Phone line doesn’t pick up, automatically disconnects after 15-20 min on hold, email mailbox “full.” Do not buy Suunto!!

Great experience working with Leisure Pro. I don’t like making large purchases strictly online, so after researching computers online and seeing that they had two Suunto D4i Novos available, I called and dealt with them by phone. They gave me the best price I could find anywhere in the country, and the computers arrived in a couple days, factory new as promised. I will not hesitate to buy from Leisure Pro in the future.

The d4i and most of the suunto comps have the WORST straps ever ! Make sure to change them to nylon or nato straps if you chose to buy these.

Their products are junk, not worth even 1/30th of their price. If you're considering a Sunnto product of any kind save your money. They don't back anything. Timex makes a better watch then they do. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! DO NOT BUY SUUNTO PRODUCTS!!

Just went to the channel islands in Santa Barbara California with truth aquatics and was on the vison boat to break in this new computer. I logged 13 dives on a 4 day trip and the computer worked flawlessly and was very easy to use . Great computer and would recommend the purchase of it

I have recommended this computer to most of my divers and they are very happy with how easy it is to understand and to maintain safe dives. The numbers are easy to ready and the different colors are a favorite for the ladies. It is conservative but I rather have that than push the limits.

It doesn't wow me but it became a part of me. I used to have a computer in a boot but the thing was so complicated to figure out that I decided to treat myself with something I could use as an everyday watch and also be air integrated for diving. I didn't really researched much, I just always wanted to try some of that Suunto stuff, read the manual to see what I'm getting and placed an order. I've had this watch for half a year with over 20 dives wearing it. I noticed it being concervative during calculations but it has never errored on me yet, but I do get an exclamation sign in the end of some deep dives once in a while. I can't realy say anything negative about this watch other than changing a battery needs to be done by a specialist according to the manual. I wear it every day, it looks good and hasn't ruined a single dive yet.

I previously had a trusty air only dive computer mounted on my hose. I wanted a wrist version that could also do Nitrox. I read great things about Suunto's usability and readability. I typically do liveaboard dive boats once or twice a year in warm water. When you rack up 25 - 35 dives in a trip, you want to have a computer that retains a log and is easy to adjust for nitrox levels. Suunto is easy to read and easy to program and has the features a recreational diver like myself needs in a nice package. What it also is, is too conservative and does not give you credit for your safety stop during a deco dive. I hit a deco limit - which I NEVER did on my previous computer, and so I figured I would need a longer safety stop to clear the computer. I stayed at 15 feet for 10 minutes and the darn thing wouldn't register that I was even doing a safety stop. I had to go up 10 feet. I don't know about you, but I get a little light at the end of my dive. Hanging out at 10 feet made me feel like an exhausted cork. I wound up popping up after another 5 minutes and the computer still hadn't cleared. It then Errors out for 48 hours! My recommendation, dive with a backup computer if using the Suunto D4i and doing repeated consecutive dives. You'll have a second opinion and be covered if it errors out.

The transmitter provides Remaining Air Time (RAT) feature that calculates current depth, tank pressure, your breathing rate, ascent time, and decompression status to tell you exactly how much time you can remain underwater. When using the transmitter option, the computer with display gas pressure from 0 to 5000 psi (0 to 350 bars). Easy synching with Movescount lets you share your unforgettable dives and images and video with the world as soon as you're out of the water. The D4i includes optional wireless air integration for easy monitoring of your tank pressure, so you can keep track of current cylinder pressure and remaining air time with a quick glance at your wrist, giving you more time to enjoy your dive.
Using DM4 with Movescount software on your laptop, you can easily synch your Suunto D4i with the Movescount.com online community, where you can store and share your dive data, images, and more. With Movescount, you can also share tips on cool dive spots and connect with other divers from all over the world. The easy-to-read dot matrix display and electro-luminescent backlight mean your dive-critical information including depth, dive time, and decompression status will all be shown clearly. In both air and nitrox mode, the clear, easy-to-read screen displays your current and maximum depth, current time, dive time, decompression time, and temperature. Audible and visual depth and time alarms warn you when it's time to start your ascent. In nitrox mode, you can maximize your dive time by adjusting the oxygen content of your gas between 21% and 50% and your PO2 limit between 0.5 and 1.6 bars.
With its innovative free dive functions and dedicated free dive mode, Suunto D4i is also perfect if you're serious about breath-hold diving. Programmed to sample depth three times a second, Suunto D4i records highly accurate data on the true depth reached. Using the Suunto Deep Stop RGBM algorithm, Suunto D4i enables continuous decompression for optimal ascent time. For deeper dives, the deep stop option adds further protection with a series of deep stops between your maximum depth and ceiling. You can test upcoming dives and view no-decompression time data for different depths before getting in the water with the built-in dive planner. After your dive, you can easily transfer your dive data to your computer for further analysis using the optional Suunto DM4 software, which includes a detailed logbook featuring a graphical representation of all your dives.

The Suunto Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM) is a modern algorithm for predicting both dissolved and free gas in the tissues and blood of divers. It was developed in co-operation between Suunto and Bruce R. Wienke BSc, MSc, PhD. It is based on both laboratory experiments and diving data, including data from DAN. Computer is powered by a CR2450 lithium battery, has color strap options, quick guides, USB cable, and scratch guards.
