Shopper : How warm is this wetsuit top?SCOTT F : It’s only a 1 mil, I use it more for sun protection. That said it is warmer than having nothing on. Very comfortable and well made. Just what I was looking for.

Just got back from a week long dive trip, and this did everything I asked it to. Love that it?s machine washable, unlike a lot of the competitors, which are neoprene. My only negative observation was that it doesn?t dry particularly quickly, but it kept me plenty warm wet or dry, so not a huge deal.

Great for traveling/ neutral buoyancy and adds warmth

This is really convenient and it travels and packs better than neoprene. It also dries really fast (though the hood takes some time bc you can’t lay it flat bc it’s a hood). I don’t know if it really qualifies as a 2mm as advertised but it does add warmth)

Good for summer time

good quality but... I like this shirt: nice fleece inside, soft hood (maybe too soft and not tight enough, so air from your exhalation easily goes in). but the one think I didn´t like is that the inner fleece started separating from the outer layer only one week after I got it. I had one of these in the past and that is the one thing that manufacturer could improve.

Additional wetsuit

I'm afraid of cold. I got a fever on Coron, Philippine in Feb. So I bought this wetsuit and will wear it inside my 3mm wetsuit. I can not try on this because I'm in China. I suggest to try on this in shop so that you can get a fit size. Can't wait to wear it in Komodo this September.

The Sharkskin Chill-Proof Long Sleeve Shirt with Hood by Bare is design provide the best insulation and protection for cold dives and water sport activities. It can even be worn under a conventional neoprene hood and wet suit as layering for extra warmth. The Chill-Proof Hooded Shirts slick fabric also makes donning the stiffest neoprene hood easy and prevents hair from being pulled. When worn as a standalone the hood protects against chaffing from mask straps, keeps your head and ears toasty warm, and is flexible enough to slide off if required, while remaining comfortable. The long sleeve design with a built-in hood provides the best protection for extreme conditions on-or-under the water.

Sharkskin Chill-Proof Material is an aquatic specific, windproof 3-layer composite material that has been developed for water sports athletes. The comfortable 'micro fleece' layer is next to the skin and 'wicks' moisture and sweat away from the body to help keep you dry. The second middle 'technical' layer is 100% windproof yet breathes to regulate body temperature while stopping wind chill. The third outer layer is a nylon/Spandex blend for abrasion resistance and 4-way stretch. It is also UV resistant for sun protection and has a durable water repellent finish (DWR) to provide a protective shell that 'sheds' water. Sharkskin Climate Control Chill-Proof is neutrally buoyant, anti-microbial, odor resistant, itch resistant and machine washable. The hooded shirt is black in color and available in multiple sizes.
