Shimano Baitrunner Saltwater Spinning Reel

The new Baitrunner gives you the confidence of a legendary drivetrain and auto-return. Baitrunner feature as well as better cast-ability, better line lay, less backlash, wind knots or tangles, less friction on the line, larger, more comfortable grips, a higher max drag as well as a wider range of Baitrunner settings than its predecessors. The Supper Stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way roller bearing that eliminates back-play. This provides the angler with instant hook setting power. The S A-RB bearings have been through the same process as Shimano's A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearing's rotation.

The reel has an aluminum cold forged spool. These spools provide increased strength and durability over die cast aluminum or graphite spools. Another great feature of the Shimano Baitrunner Reel is the Dyna-Balance feature that eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing Shimano is able to redistribute the rotor weight to create smooth rotation and eliminate vibrations. Building upon the successes of Fluidrive, Fluidrive II features a large master gear polished using a wrapping process, increasing the efficiency of the retrieve.

Reel also features Varispeed where as consistent spool speed is achieved by altering the speed of the oscillation cam. This results in an even line lay delivering excellent casting and overall manageability. Varispeed II which has extra teeth on the main gear to enhance line lay. Propulsion line management system, this unique spool lip design reduces casting friction as line leaves the spool as well as reducing line-slap on rod guides (also known as AR-C spool). One-piece bail wire allows line to travel unimpeded and smoothly to line roller.

Shimano Baitrunner Saltwater Spinning Reel is available in two models depending on your line weight requirements. The first model is for 170 yds. (155.4 meters), 16 lbs. (7.26 kg) test line, with maximum drag of 20 lbs. (9.7 kg), gear ratio of 4.8:1, retrieve rate of 35" (89 cm) and weighs 20.1 oz. (569.8 g). The second model is for 195 yds. (178.3 meters) 20 lbs. (9.7 kg) test line, with maximum drag of 20 lbs. (9.7 kg), gear ratio of 4.8:1, retrieve rate of 36" (91.4 cm) and weighs 21.7 oz. (615.2 g). Both models have 3 ball and 1 roller stainless steel bearings and reversible retrieve. Reels come with an owner's manual.
