Not Dependable!

After about a year of use - started getting water leaks - sealed with tape. the next time I used it the corrugated tube split rendering the snorkel useless. Don't waste your money on this - it doesn't old up

Scuba Pro

The only negative was the package it. The packing for the snorkel did seem like it was very old and sold before? But the snokel works perfect.

Worst Snorkel I have ever used.

I have many products from this company and for the most part they work extremely well. This snorkel on the other hand is the worst design I have ever used. I work for a company that carries these for sale. I have used 4 different Laguna 2 snorkels and have encountered the same problems with each. -The valve on top closes to easily and restricts airflow with wind, any splashing water and often simply by tilting one's head. -In the event there is water in the snorkel the base holds it too close to one's mouth causing it to breath extremely wet. -The snorkel is harder than most to clear when water is in the snorkel. -Any snorkel designed by a dive company that features a hook on the top shows a clear lack of thought in thste design process. I have seen many student turn their heads to the left only to have the snorkel hook on a hose coming off of their regulator.

Good

Only used in pool so far but it's doing fine so far. Will know if it was worth it for the ocean once it warms up a little.

The Wettest "Dry" Snorkel I've Known

I use my snorkels in very calm water; a pool, actually, as part of my work out routine. So the fact that this snorkel lets in SO much water while I swim is staggering! It also has the odd habit of just closing up every so often, as if the valve at the top isn't balanced quite right. Not cool. So yeah, between drinking a lot of water with this snorkel and not always being able to breathe, I would NOT recommend this piece of equipment! I started shopping for a new snorkel after about three times of using this one.

DO NOT BUY THIS SNORKEL : DEADLY DESIGN

I bought ScubaPro's Laguna 2 snorkel because of all the great reviews. The first few dives using the Laguna 2 were much wetter than I expected, in comparison with my ScubaPro Escape. After only a few dives this snorkel failed on me during a shore dive. The valve at the top had some how sealed off inhalation airflow. I could not breath IN, only out! I spent several minutes in the water troubleshooting how exactly this was happening? Air exhales, no inhale, weird!? I ended up easily popping off the whole top valve mechanism so that I could continue my surface swim before descending at the reef. This design is a BIG problem and someone may drown using it and I believe ScubaPro should take this snorkel off the market. My BCD, Regs, and fins are all ScubaPro so I do trust the company, although now I have replaced the Laguna 2 with a plain, large-bore Atomic SV1 snorkel which has been trouble free for over 30 dives. Leisurepro's outstanding exchange process was hassle free.

Do not use in high seas

I purchased two of these and had the same problem with both. The valve that closes when water hits also closes due to high winds and if the head is tilted and the snorkel is at an angle. I do a lot of snorkeling in the Keys mostly for lobster. Many times when coming to the surface desperate for air, there was none. The valve was closed. I eventually solved the problem by gluing a small stainless steel washer to the valve so that the valve is less sensitive. It now works very well and I have not had a repeat of the problem

This is what I upgraded to

After 28 years of diving with a Scubapro big bore contoured snorkel (the knd the US Navy issued in the '80s), my wife told me it was time to move into the 21st century, so I ordered one of these. Boy, had I been missing out! Now, my snorkels don't get a lot of use when I dive, and this one was more than adequate for diving. But it really came into it's own when I snorkeled in the shallows. It is light weight, does not cause any jaw fatigue, and is quite dry, even in choppy water. I especially like the quick detach feature, which enables you to leave the clip on your mask strap but detach the snorkel itself for easy packing and storage.

Works great, great price too!

Works great and great price, what more can you ask for. Purchased this snorkel for some diving and snorkeling in Hawaii. My wife purchased the Aeris Cuda model that was double the price of this one and they where almost identical. So save yourself some money and get this one!

I LIKE IT!!!

I liked this snorkel because it keeps water from flooding. The little water you do get you just use the purge. Also, it helps practice staying calm cause if you breath too quick the snorkel top gets blocked. In all good snorkel

Ordering three more, for my kids

Snorkeled four straight hours with it at Boracay, with the least water I have ever experienced entering, and quite easy purging. My easiest, therefore best, snorkeling yet. At most, two puffs sometimes necessary to purge. Got tangled in a rope carelessly dangled from the boat, and it snapped off the black top cover piece, but we were able to pop it back on; it did not break. I am buying three of the same for our three kids.

The Best I Ever Owned

The dry snorkel is great. Water rearly gets into the tube but the purge valves clear it fast with one blow. The comfort of the mouth piece does not tire out my jaw like other ones do. A good thing is you can even replace the mouth piece if needed. This is a great buy.

Great Deal on a Great Snorkel

I had a large bore standard snorkel before I purchased the Scubapro Laguna 2 Snorkel. I hated snorkeling because of all of the water I would inadvertently breath in. With the Scubapro Laguna 2 Snorkel the snorkel stays dry and makes using the snorkel fun.

A satisfied customer

Great Product, I am very satisfied with it. So far I've only used it while snorkeling in the New River, but it has performed flawlessly. I can easily see it working well when I get to the lake. The only problem that I see with it is that the goggle clip seems to be a little small and flimsy. Easy fix.

very,very little water leak

the one thing and only thing i dont like about this snorkel is that when your out of breath and you come up dieing to fill your lungs, you cant because the valve is shut.a couple of times i had to spit the piece out to get air.now this doesnt happen all the time, maybe the snorkle got pulled to low or something cause im in and around kelp and my float line gets pulled around it.but for the most part very little water ever gets in and when it does just blow it out of the purge valve

THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!

This is the best snorkel I've ever used in over 15 years of diving and snorkeling. It really does everything it says it does. I've used it everywhere with no problems whatsoever. Waves don't affect it and you can submerge and come back up clear. The only drawback was the price- I paid [$]for my first one from a dive shop (and it was worth every cent)- but Leisurepro took care of that with a fabulous price. Now everyone has one and they all love this snorkel!

Never Inhale Water Again

I was skeptical of the dry snorkel technology and thought "why would I pay more for that." Then I used it and realized how obsolete all other styles of snorkels are. This is a must for shore diving and snorkeling.

great snorkel

I bought this for scuba and do not care to use it other then free diving or snorkeling. The snorkel is long and continues to get caught on my hoses while diving. Would recommend it for recreation but not for scuba.

Best Snorkel Ever!

Best Snorkel Ever!

When using a snorkel, the last thing you want is a mouthful of water - especially salt water - when you're hoping to fill your lungs with air. Scubapro's Laguna 2 Snorkel's semi-dry top design closes upon contact with water keeping water out of your snorkel's barrel, allowing you to breathe easily. If a bit of water does sneak into the snorkel, simply exhale to use the Laguna's 2 purge valve (located near the mouthpiece). By putting the purge valves at the bottom of the snorkel, gravitational pull allows you to use less effort when blowing out the water - the same is not true for snorkels that require you to blast the water upward, away from the mouthpiece.

The ergonomic soft angled mouthpiece means gums, lips and jaw won't come out of the water feeling beat-up and fatigued. The mouthpiece is also replaceable if necessary. The snorkel's lower corrugated tube drops out of the way when switching from the snorkel to the regulator making it a great snorkel for Scuba diving. Snorkel comes equipped with a quick-connect cell phone style removable clip keeper that attaches to almost every mask strap with ease. Snorkel is available in multiple colors.
