Shopper : will this scubapro second stage be compatible with a Sherwood 1st stage?JOHN B : I don't know what Sherwood 1st stage you have, so I can't guarantee it, but if it is a recent one it should work. The two things that would affect the compatibility are the threads where the hose to the second stage attaches, and the pressure at the low pressure port. The pressure is adjustable on most 1st stages, and the low pressure threads are usually standard, since they are the same size port used for attaching a BC inflator hose. However, to be sure, you should probably ask someone who repairs regulators.Gary R : Yes should be no problemMICHAEL H : I don't see why not, the port is 3/8" the only thing is to make sure the intermediate pressure from the first stage to the second is adequate to the second stage does not freeflow.

It's so good that.......

.......I also got one for my octopus regulator ! This second stage is so good and easy to breathe through, that I realized it was a worthy thing to use one of these as the octopus / alternate, should any buddy need assisting - I couldn't think of a reg I would prefer more to be available in a situation than the one I breathe as primary! Luckily, not had to use it yet, but I cant have a better second stage for myself or an in-need diver to use in a case of need !

Awesome Reg

I dig Scubapro equipment and this reg is top notch. I just came back from a liveaboard in the Bahamas and this reg breathes very easy. The breathing knob works great. I highly recommend the product.

Very easy breather

I have owned this reg for 11 years. It is light, comfortable, and adjustable. I bought this because I could no longer get parts for my old Scuba Pro reg. This reg breaths VERY easy and does not free flow. It is as easy as breathing out of the water.

Simply the best .

Simply the TOP performer, comfortable easy, smooth breather that can handle an extreme workout underwater. I have compared it over 12 dives to XTX-200, Legend, and Cressi Elipse balanced and it was an easy pick, although the XTX-200 was not far behind. A bit on the expensive side but if taken care for should server 10 years+ easy.

Because of the S600's versatility, it can meet the diver's needs as frequently as the diver changes dive sites. The S600 valve housing is constructed of a chrome-plated brass and techno-polymer. The S600 has a linear air-balancing valve, and a top-notch air-balancing system. This regulator's air-balanced linear-flow valve allows the diver to use less energy while breathing underwater; it makes breathing during a dive as simple as well, breathing in and out!

The S600 air balanced high performance second stage, is Scubapro's performer. The balanced flow valve provides constant & effortless air flow. Regulator has a diver adjustable inhalation control that enables personal adjustment of breathing effort. Diver adjustable Venturi Initiated Vacuum Assist (VIVA) dive/pre-dive control switch and extra high flow exhaust valve account for easy inhale & exhale. Scubapro uses a comfortable orthodontic mouthpiece on every second stage to reduce jaw fatigue and gum irritation.
