I have never dove in water where I needed to wear anything more than shorts and T-Shirt. I was diving in the Pacific Northwest in 45 degree water for the very first time and a little apprehensive. I did not have a dry suit and knew for certain I did not want to wear a long john and shorty combo. So, the NovaScotia SemiDry was HIGHLY recommended by a couple instructors and DM's in my circle. I was in the water for about 6 hours one day, about 8 hours the next and 6 the third in the Puget Sound. Water ranged from 52 to 42 degrees depending on the depth. I was just as warm in that water with that suite as I was in the Caribbean waters. I have NO problem wearing that suite in cold water and knowing I will be just fine. It does trap air for me so, be cautious of that and the amount of weight needed to keep you down (at least for me) is significantly more.

Ordered this Nova Scotia from Scuba.com NY, I love this thing Testedout Feb-19-23 in Lake Tenkiller Ok. Just bare suit and hood no under garments, water temp was 44*F Down to a depth of 40' .I stayed warm in this scubapro Nova Scotia 7.5mm through out the dive, the little bit of water that seeped in my body warmed up i was able to stay comfortable. sizing man what can i say, looking @ size chart i fall into a Meduim so i ordered a meduim too small had to send it back for a large Short fit was perfect I would look in too what size you fall in too and go one size up (my openion) I would even say this suit is capable of even colder water Temps, i recomend this 7.5mm suit you wont be disapointed its a bit pricey but if you want to Dive cold water temps , i would even buy another one tomrrow . Also noticed whan i was taking off the suit warm water was comm'in out, i plan to ware my under armor under garments for even colder dives hope this helps you guys, Also Scuba.com was Awesome on returns you can feel safe with them NO WORRIES

Love this suit! Diving in a Montana lake with 44 degree water, wonderfully warm and comfortable. Zero flush from neck, wrists or ankles. Only wish is that the neck opening was a bit bigger. Seal is very tight on my 4XL suit for my 20in neck especially when worn with the included hood.

Great product. Keeps you very warm in the cold PNW waters. Only issue i have is trying to expel all the air out of the suit after i suit up

Bought this to dive in a local spring at about 70F (I do NOT do well in cold water). It did take care of me and I'm glad I bought it overall, will definitely see some use for dives that are not quite enough to break out the drysuit for. However the fit seems a little odd. I have extra room in the armpit area. Might be needed to get in and out effectively, this is the first suit I've asked for help with the zipper on. The neck seal also had a tendency to bunch up/fold over, allowing water in. Might just be my dimensions, but I bought a medium tall, which should be perfect for a tall skinny guy. Definitely warmer than my 5mm, despite its better fit. I would overall recommend it, but definitely try it on before getting in the water. If the armpit room is normal/anyone knows more about that than I do, I'd be interested.

I have been diving cold water since 1973. I have owned farmer johns, two piece with hooded vests and stretch suits covering just about any configuration you can imagine. I am also an advanced instructor, so I am in the water, and not always moving much, a whole lot. Several years ago I purchased the 7.5mm Nova Scotia, with hood and gloves. It is simply the warmest suit I have ever owned. It fits well, maintains a constant buoyancy from the surface to depth and has endured tech gear, wrecks, traveling and sun admirably well. If you want to be warm and not hassel a dry suit, this may well be the way to go.

100% recommended Keep you warm, the only problem you will have is the zipper in the back you need someone to help you . Does not com with the hood even if you bought it direct from Scubapro

Overpriced and oddly sized. After 3 attempts at getting a good fit I switched to another brand. Well constructed by a great brand. Just didn’t fit the way I wanted it to. Never able to make a dive in it.

A very warm wetsuit that works as advertised. I had to order a larger size so take the sizing chart with a grain of salt. My drysuit will be spending more time at home.

I haven’t used it and I’m sure it is a really nice suit. The only problem I have is when I get an XXL large, it’s all in the ass, but still tight in shoulders. A lot of guys are bigger up top. Maybe, have a couple standard sizes instead of just one.

The sizing with these suits have been kinda wonky. I think this suit is more spot on. I did enjoy the suit. it is comfortable and relatively easy to put on. Unfortunately you do need help with the back zipper. The let pocket comes in handy and the dive computer strap keeps you computer in place. The suit doesn't come with a hood, but I bought a drysuit hood that worked great. It's also nice having the flexibility of leaving the hood on the boat for the warmer dives. off of the Channel Islands I did 15 dives on one trip and another 10 dives on a second trip with a loose fitting suit and liked it enough to buy the proper fitting suit. My large is on order now. I tried the XL off of a recommendation. 6.0' 190 lbs.

The 6mm comes with a hood, this one not so much. Got "upgraded" to this model after ordering the 6mm version and got shorted the hood that's specifically made for this suit. Was told by customer service I could fork over $60 to get the rest of the suit. Aside the scam by LP the suit seems awesome. The suit seems really well made as you would expect from Scuba Pro. I'm sure the hood I buy from another store will be just as impressive. Would definitely recommend the suit, just not purchasing it through this site.

Offering a snug-fitting, flexible dive suit with good thermal properties and minimal water intrusion, the new Nova Scotia semi-dry is the perfect solution for staying very warm and relatively dry while virtually eliminating hydro drag, radically improving a diver's ability to move easily through the water. With its new 7.5/6.5mm thickness, easy-zip YKK Aquaseal Vislon dry zipper, improved plush lining to increase warmth and stretch, and a long list of convenience features, the Nova Scotia is the diver's answer to a comfortable, affordable semi-dry suit. Positioned between a traditional wetsuit and a neoprene dry suit, the Nova Scotia delivers the best of both worlds in cold water, temperate water, and multi-dive thermal protection.
CE certified a Class A dive suit -- rated for water temperatures ranging from 45 Degree F (7 Degree C) to 54 Degree F (12 Degree C). New 7.5/6.5mm suit is made of 100% Everflex neoprene, an X-Foam formulation for better health, and it is assembled using eco-friendly solvent-free Aqua glue. Pure Design Concept uses fewer seams and panels to ensure maximum flexibility. Blind-stitched seams block water entry. Internal stress discs installed at stitch intersections protect seams, extending the suit's working life. Rear shoulder-to-shoulder YKK Aquaseal Vislon dry main zipper with heavy-duty plastic slider is flexible yet provides an excellent seal against water entry. New plush interior liner in the arms, legs and shoulder areas increases warmth and stretch.
Double zippered seals on ankles and wrists feature KA brass sliders for durability, water-tightness and ease of use. Fold-under neck seal is ultra-comfortable and keeps water seepage to a minimum. Right thigh 3D pocket offers lots of room for carrying extra gear. The hood hook has been moved to the outside of the pocket for added convenience. Shoulders and kneepads feature both anti-abrasion patterns and extra rubber prints to provide protection while adding a stylish look. Enhanced spine pad provides a welcomed cushion where the tank hits the diver's back. I-Safe straps on both arms offer nonslip mounting spots for securing wrist instruments. Suit is available in multiple sizes and is black in color.
