BRENTON A : Is this good for cold water?Mario C : The MK25 EVO regulator uses Scubapro's new Extended Thermal Insulating System (XTIS). The Scubapro MK25 EVO first stage regulator meets the new EN250-2014 requirements for cold water diving, CE approved for 3360psi (230 bars). This model goes even beyond this super stringent qualification and has successfully been tested in extreme cold diving conditions at less than 36°F (2.2°C).
Jeffrey H : Was the item used and returned by the purchaser or is it an open box demo with no physical underwater use?Mario C : if you click on the specific used denomination ( ie, OB - for open box _ e or E+ for excellent it shows the criteria. the only denomination for not used in water would be open box. all other would have some sign or history of water use.

Smooth and stylish breathing!

Strong regulator system that has never failed me, and I've been happily using my trusted MK25 EVO S620 system for over a year! Of course, make sure you service your system by an authorized SCUBAPRO dealer, at least once a year or every 100 dives (in salty water). Breathing made easy and reliable! I Love it!

Save $400 and by an Oceanic.

I accidentally bought this - I didn't even know I bought it until it arrived. I decided to keep it because I have heard many good things about it. It is a good reg, but quite pricey. I also have an Oceanic that I use, and I really can't tell the difference except for the price. So while I would recommend it, I think I would stick with my Oceanic due to the price difference and not being able to tell the difference between a less expensive set.

Almost Perfect Workhorse Regulator

Pros: Terrific first and second stages, really the industry standard. Easy breathing under all conditions, and easy to fine tune so that it is just right for whatever the dive brings. Rugged, light weight, and utterly dependable. Enough high and low pressure ports to support a primary and secondary second stage, BCD inflator, SPG, and air integrated computer transmitter, with room to spare. Really like the swivel turret first stage, allowing multiple orientations/configurations. Cons: Agree with several other reviews that the mouthpiece isn’t going to be as comfortable as a custom molded mouthpiece; at this price point ScubaPro might consider including a custom mouthpiece as part of the second stage. Also, agree that the hose seems to be just a little short, and a little stiff. I solved that with a 28” Miflex hose with a swivel fitting. Easy to change out the hoses, and now I have the perfect regulator, a workhorse able to support diving every day for years to come.

40 Years of Scubapro

Loyal to the brand. Avid diver in my younger days, now rekindling my old passion. Original Scubapro regulator, bought in 1980, spent 26 years wrapped in a T-shirt in my attic. After over two and a half decades...it still worked! Obviously, time for a new one, and I love the MK25 EVO/S620 Ti. I also bought the R-195 for my octopus.

Good regulator, but....

I bought this reg few weeks ago at our local dealer in Austin, TX and it was highly recommended by the dive operator we dive with in Cayman. It is a rugged and durable reg and the second stage is light. Here come the but... and it is the mouth piece. After all the engineering that went into developing the 1st and 2nd stages the designers fell short on the mouthpiece. It is larger, harder material and in just two dives it gave me blisters in my gums. Never had the problem with my 15 year old AquaLung and logged 100's of dives with it. I will now have to buy a new mouthpiece and replace it. This is not a good thing after spending $880 in a new reg system. The hose should be at least 1" longer. Disappointing. I expected more from Scubapro. They should include an extra mouthpiece of different material and design that can be swapped by the owner.

Still the best

I have been teaching diving for 39 years. My first regulator was scuba pro, and over the years I have had an opportunity to try a lot of other brands they were all good but scubapro is still the best. It's what I recommend to my students and it's all my grandchildren use. You cannot go wrong with this regulator.

Great Regulator Set!

Fantastic Regulator Set! I've dove on the Pacific side of Costa Rica and down to 100' in 38 degree water. Not one issue anywhere or anytime. The breathing is so smooth with the system you just think about breathing and it's delivered. I'm buying another one this Christmas for my wife to use......I can't think of any better recommendation than that!
