Excellent performance

By Bubblensqueak d.

I trialled these fins for 22 dives in the Red sea in a variety of conditions. At first they felt awkward but by the end of the week I loved them. I have a tendency to get cramp but I didnt get a cramp all week in spite of having to kick against strong current and a couple of long surface swims. They deliver power when you need it. Rumour has it you cant frog kick with them. Nonsense, I can. So easy to put on when on a crowded boat platform. They are a little heavy due to the full foot pocke...

woah - this thing is a rocket !!!

By VIC W.

No fatigue at all, speaks of its efficiency. For serious wreck penetration, I would still stick with my Rocket Fins2 (since you don't need crazy speed). This would easily smoke my other 2 fins in a "foot" race using a flutter kick. They are positively bouyant. Frog kicks - it feels a little funny because of the upward lip no the side edges of the fin, but still works well. Strongest frog kick is probably from the Tusa's but they are just too stiff. The divemaster tried these to tie down on t...

If you are the type of diver who wants cutting edge technology with you at depth, look no further that the Scubapro Seawing Nova Fins. This fin comes with the security of the Scubapro name with the thrill of Scubapro innovation. The Seawing Nova combines classic Scubapro fin technology with the latest innovations in hydrodynamic design and cutting-edge materials. This fin has the power, acceleration and maneuverability of a paddle fin with the comfort, efficiency and effortless speed of split fins.

The Seawing Nova brags of having an articulated joint, which will propel you through the water with ease, speed, agility, and amazing comfort. What makes the Seawing Nova so amazing? First, it has variable blade geometry; second, it has an articulated joint. What is an articulated joint? Think about how a dolphin's tail moves as it swims; the natural structure of the tail bends as if it is on a hinge and provides the dolphin with remarkable power. The same science was applied during the development of the Seawing Nova. The variable blade geometry brings us back to the dolphin. As a dolphin's tail moves upward, the tips bend down a bit to make it more streamlined. The Seawing Nova's edges do the same thing as the diver's kick is on the upward swing. As the foot moves downward, the fin flattens out to create an amazing amount of power and thrust. The articulated joint allows the blade to pivot and the entire blade is able to generate thrust.Pivot control technology ensures the most efficientangle of attack is maintained no matter how hard or softly you kick, generating thrust without drag or wasted energy.

The Seawing Nova fins are made using high-tech Elastomer Monoprene construction, which means they are stronger and more flexible than you'll ever need them to be. Variable pivot control ribs ensure that the most efficient angle of attack is maintained across all strengths of kick. An added bonus to the Seawing Nova fins is the bungee heel strap. This design frees you from fumbling with heel strap clasps (a true pain for people wearing thick dive gloves and nearly impossible for those wearing dive mitts) and the annoying task of cinching down your heel straps. Simply slide the strap over your heel and you're ready to go with a perfect fit. Go ahead give them a try; you won't be sorry. The Seawing Vented Fin is available in multiple sizes.

Questions about this item:

CHERENE S  One of the black side clips broke. How can I replace it?
darrick c  Hello Cherene, you would need these as a replacement strap: https://www.scuba.com/p-scpfsswn/scubapro-fin-strap-for-seawing-nova-fins.
Shopper  Are these fins comfortable for snorkling as well as diving?
darrick c  Hello, you would be able to use this for either scuba diving or snorkeling and has the same comfort lvl doing either one.
DALE S  While you can use them for that, my opinion is that fins like this, that are bent downward for diving (fully submerged), are a little awkward on the surface where snorklers tend to be (as the bend would be upwards when facing down, and they'd just splash on the surface a lot). This may be 'too much' fin for snorkling... but that's just my opinion.
Shopper  How long are the size small fins?
darrick c  Hello, these are 25" in length.
Shopper  WHAT SIZE FOR A 13 SHOE ?
darrick c  Hello, depends on the thickness of the boot you are wearing. You are looking at a large or X-Large size fin for a size 13.
CHARLES F  For anyone who has tried both Nova's and Gorillas, which do you prefer and why?
Tony S  Charles, I am an older diver (diving for ~50years), I should have probably have got the standard Scubapro Seawing Nova fins. My knees get tired. The fins are easy on and off and are tough. Wish they were shorter hard to pack. The gorilla are great for young legs.
ELEAZAR B  He’s exactly correct if ur not in shape the gorillas are more tiresome but plenty of power and nice and stiff
BULENT M  I only used gorilla because Where I dive there are strong currents and it helps me overcome the drift! Don’t remember Nova
JOSEPH P  Hi Charles, My preference would be the Gorillas. The Nova's don't provide the thrust that I'd like to have. Their a little too flexible for me. The stiffer Gorillas of will add a little more load to your legs but will provide you with the additional thrust needed in current and if, at times, you have to move a little faster. Safe diving...Joe
