Anatomy of a Riffe Speargun

The New Raider pays tribute to the history of blue water hunting speargun design. Using its forerunner, the Riffe Blue Water Elite, as an origin point, the Riffe Team led the development challenge with an emphasis on increasing accuracy, shooting range, and maneuverability to produce the next mid-handle generation. A refined evolutionary design embodies power and adaptability with its commanding mass, integrated full body length wings, new ABS (Adjustable Ballast System), high impact and distinct shape. The Raider is the true pinnacle of craftsmanship, efficacy and what big spearfishing dreams are made of.

Gun has a 5-laminate mahogany wood stock with integrated full body wings. New ABS (Adjustable Ballast System) enable compensating adjustments for preferred rigging and negative buoyancy when loaded. Riffe's stainless steel 2-piece trigger mechanism assembly and new toggle safety etched with "S" for safe & "F" for fire. The 55" & 61" (139.7cm & 155cm) come standard with 5/16" 24 thread, threaded American notch spear shaft (3 large tabs) with slip tip (needle point). The 67" & 70" (170.2cm & 178cm) come standard with 11/32" threaded American notch spear shaft (4 large tabs + rest tab) with tri-cut slip tip (needle point) & breakaway setup. Tie In 5/8" (16mm) black Gorilla Rubber power bands 55 & 61 (3), 67 (4) & 70 (5). The 55 & 61 rigged with 400 lbs. (181.4kg) nylon monofilament shooting line for faster shooting and abrasion resistance. The 67 & 70 rigged with 500 lbs. (227kg) stainless steel coated cable.

Guns have 5" (12.7cm) bungee shock chord with 500 lbs. (227kg) test pigtail swivel. Heavy-duty reinforced glass filled nylon handle with over molded cushion grip and enclosed track design. Automatic side mounted line release. 55 & 61 come standard with built in stainless steel threaded reel inserts, designed to fit Riffe's Horizontal Reel flat mount (see SKU: RIFHNFR). Contoured signature red urethane butt end assembly for comfortable loading. Gun shaft dimensions are as follows: 55" has a 5/16" x 53" (8mm x 140cm), 61" has a 5/16" x 59" (8mm x 152cm), 67" has a 11/32" x 65" (8.7mm x 165cm), and the 70" has a 11/32" x 68" (8.7mm x 172cm) shaft.
