I got about 6 dives out of it before it leaked.

I bought two of these for scuba tank lights for my buddy and me. The Princeton Tec website says that they're IPX8 rated (waterproof to 100m/325ft). I stupidly ignored all the negative reviews. After our first dive, both of our lights stopped working properly, and we could see moisture underneath the translucent white plastic cover. Water had obviously gotten in and was affecting the switch. Total waste of money for scuba, but I could see them being useful for kayaking.

I bought one and went on a couple dives to 25 meters. it flooded. The replacement flooded as well. How it ever passed testing is beyond me. If you have ever seen a real dive light or an underwater camera housing, you would know that this product is destined to fail. The seal is made by a tiny layer of soft rubber built into the hard plastic shell. Nothing close to a real O-ring that you would find on any other piece of equipment. Absolute embarrassment of a product.

I bought this because I like to put a strobe on the anchor chain. Makes finding your way home much easier in Jersey water. Flooded the second time I used it.

A pain to get into because of the four screws to change the battery. Flooded the next time I used it in spite of the care I took.

DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT. I decided to ignore the reviews and (thinking I knew better) I purchased this light as a gift for a friend that is a very experienced diver and underwater photographer. It worked for one dive and leaked on the second dive. Princeton Tec should know better and should be ashamed of this product...

This is a nice light and it's bright The problem I have is that, based upon other strobes I've owned, this is not a strobe it's a flashing LED. A strobe is an electronic arc flash and more intense for it's size. It's a quality product, just change the name.

I've been looking to replace an older safety light on my pfd for some time. The Meridian Strobe light is low profile, attaches securely to a pfd shoulder strap, and has a solid on/off switch to turn on a red light or white strobe. Only time will tell durability (hence 4-star rating), but the battery compartment has a solid fitting rubber gasket and screws at each corner. The local CG recommended a white strobe for visibility on the water...an essential part of your safety gear.

I have two of these for padding in fall weather when the sun goes down before I am off the water. There are tons of salmon fisherman on the river, and many of them drink beer. To be safe, I attach one to the front of my PDF and one to the back so that I am clearly visible to all power boaters who are not looking for kayakers. The strobes are very bright and I can see exactly when the other boaters notice me and steer a course away. A must have.

This strobe is way too big in my mind. I like to keep my rig trim and low profile.

great bright light, but when I came up after a night dive it was full of water. Yes, the screws were tight.

Mostly for night paddling, (can be a bit distractive for fellowpaddlers) and bigger crafts WILL notice you.
