OTS Buddy Phone 2 Channel Surface Station

The SP-100D2 Surface Buddy Phone is a newly designed, state-of-the-art digital signal processing circuitry (DSP - known as "Software Defined Radio") has been incorporated ensuring great performance and clarity. The DSP Squelch circuitry is second to none and the industry leader. The SP-100D will operate with all single sideband acoustic underwater devices within range and on the same frequency. The user simply places the SP-100D2 Buddy Phone in a secure area, lowers the 35' (10.7 meters) transducer cable in the water, turns the power on and talks via a hand held microphone. All divers and/or other surface stations within range and the same frequency will receive the message, when any other persons within range and on the same frequency talks, the voice will be heard from the front panel speaker of the SP-100D Surface Buddy Phone.

The SP100D Surface Buddy Phone is compact and operates on (8) AA alkaline batteries (not included) ensuring hours of fun. For those who require extreme long life, two battery packs (16 AA) batteries can be utilized. You can monitor and talk to divers while the action is happening. A must for all dive boats and/or dive operations. Unit comes equipped with a hand held push to talk (PPT) mic, which is a dynamic 500 ohm impedance design. The units nominal range is 165' to 1,640' (50 to 500 meters) with two operating channels using frequencies A (Channel 1): 32.768 kHz USB and B (Channel 4): 31.250 kHz LSB.

The SP-100D2 Surface Buddy Phone is activated upon connection of the traducer cable to the surface unit. The surface unit will provide 10 hours of use when powered by 8 AA batteries and with 16 batteries will run for up to 16 hours. An external power source can also be used using a 12 VDC system at a minimum of 1 amp, the power output of the surface unit is 0.5 watts. Controls on the front panel included a squelch on/off selector, volume adjustment and speaker on/off switch. The receiver sensitivity and automatic gain control (AGC) are greater than 100 dBv, and the transmitter speech frequency bandwidth is 300 3,500 Hz. The unit is housed in an impact resistant Underwater Kinetics 309, ABS Case (see SKU: UKT309), the control panel is also made from durable ABS plastic, the unit measures (W x H x D): 9" x 7.85" x 3.7" (22.9 cm x 20 cm x 9.4 cm) and weighs 2.5 lbs.
