I've been using this bag for 7 years of international travel. I'm hitting 12 to 15 airports a year with this bag. I disconnect the soft backpack with my electronics and important docs and sling it over my shoulder. The main bag fits easily in all overhead compartments. I reassemble and roll for paved enviroments like metros and trains. For rough terrain i strap on the full combo and hike to where I'm going. This bag has room for several pairs of pants shirts shoes and presents to my kids. I wouldn't go anywhere without it.

I bought this for a 3 day trip for work in early July of 2020. I packed 2 extra shoes, 2 shirts, 2 pairs of jeans, underwear, socks and toiletries we put in the upper pocket. Everything fit great. Zippers are durable and the cinch straps strapped everything down tightly. No issues with carrying it on the airplane and fit great in the over head compartment. Easy to steer and pull around the airport. No comments on the backpack feature because I did not use it. Solid construction and durable. Don't hesitate to order the Sojourn 45!

Have had mine since 2008. I've use this for dozens of international trips where I've mostly carried it on the plane without issue. The bag is very sturdy from the frame down to the wheels. In fact I've never had to wear the bag as a backpack since the wheels will roll over anything and anywhere I've taken it, even over rough cobble stones. Slight issue with the handle retraction, but I think I will send it in for repair so it will last another 10 years. If anything, ask yourself if you will actually use this as a backpack, as it adds weight and bulk. I would get one with the full handle as more sturdy and it's easy to maneuver.

I have the green one, and it is a fantastic looking bag, as well as being an all around great suitcase! I got this bag as a Christmas present, and it was replacing a carry-on sized bag that I had previously used for all of my trips. This bag has the same amount of space, and fits in the overhead compartment, on most airlines. I traveled to 4 cities in China with this bag, and appreciated the convertible aspects at times where a roller bag wasn't convenient. The bag weighs as much as the bag that it was replacing, but it is a little larger. The reason I said that it was heavy in the cons section is because when you are using this bag for travel, you are carrying a lot of stuff around, and as a backpack, it can get a little heavy- BUT the straps are designed to have excellent support for your back, and the shoulder straps are comfortable. The first time I converted it to a backpack, it was a little difficult to figure out, but I watched a youtube video and it was a lot easier. I would also say that this bag has the perfect amount of pockets. I always get confused when there are too many compartments and end up putting random things in spaces that feel like were meant for other things (I do realize that sounds crazy).

Currently traveling Asia for three months. My husband has the Ozone model, and it's much lighter. In these countries the airlines weigh the travel packs if they look too bulky. The Sojourn is bulky and heavy before contents go in. The quality is fabulous! We prefer the Ozone.

I use this bag with in country and out. I have taken this bag for a two week trip to Switzerland, two week to England and getting ready for Ireland. My carryon is an osprey backpack. To use you have to lean how to pack correctly and lightly. Most of what I pack is based on weight.

I live out of my bag for weeks at a time on the road. My bag gets thrown around, beaten up, and stuffed into very small tight spaces frequently. It stays intact, compresses as I need it to, yet carries all of my essential equipment in an organized fashion. The wheels are bombproof, it has a high clearance for gravel and dirt roads, yet is carry on size and fits in most overhead bins without any issue. The interior pockets are very useful for organization. The rear pocket is handy for me. I removed the shoulder and hip suspension system as I don't carry this on my back. The pocket where the suspension is attached in the rear of the bag comes in very handy for storing my laptop, ipad, paperwork, and other large flat items that I need to access during the day. The pull out handle is stout, yet folds away very easily. This bag is fantastic, I give it 5 stars.
