I used this pack for a 3 week backpacking trip in Europe. It was loaded with 22 pounds and it never felt heavy when on your back. It does feel heavy when lifting it and putting it on your back, but once it is on it was on I walked for miles with it. Be sure to use packing cubes to get the most out of the space. The day pack was very useful as we went sight seeing BUT it has to be almost completely empty to be able to zipper it to the big pack and wear it on your back. It was more comfortable to wear it "kangaroo" style on my front. The clips are impossible to attach on your own though (you need someone else to clip it for you) so most of the time I would just put it on over my arms without clipping the straps in. It managed to stay clean and looks brand new even after 3 weeks of pure backpacking travel. Overall it is a super great backpack and I would definitely buy it again. ps- it DOES fit in RyanAir as a carry on, see attached picture

I recently purchased this bag for a trip to Australia, having the option to zip away the straps was great. meant they wouldn't get damaged on the flight. the capacity of the bag was amazing, the hip straps made the bag easy to carry when i had it completely full. only thing it lacked was a bit of support, or a way to ventilate my back, it got so sweaty! but other then that it was a good purchase. the day pack came in handy, only wished the day pack was slightly bigger as well. could have used more pockets for sure though... would 100% recommend this bag

Took this pack to Europe for some solo-adventuring. I nearly took my beat up old Ariel and am so happy that I splurged on a new travel bag. It's surprisingly comfortable worn as a pack. I opted out of waiting for the bus on several occasions in both Paris and Bordeaux because walking was so easy and comfortable. It handles well as a duffel too thanks to the thick handle. The day pack is super convenient though only appropriate for light loads. I'm not a particularly light a traveler but this pack was more than adequate for a month of touring. Highly recommended!
