Osprey Daylite Plus 20L Backpack Blue Spikemoss/Alkaline

I wanted a backpack to use on our cruise through Alaska. It is large enough, 20L, to hold my stuff that I wanted with me on embarkation day, while my suitcases were checked in and inaccessible. On shore excursions, it had nice deep side pockets to hold our tumblers without falling out when I tried to remove the backpack. It has many smaller exterior zippered compartments for storage of cell phones, passports, etc. The larger main storage area was more than enough to store our puffer jackets, gloves, etc. The size was great for our needs. It is also well constructed as one comes to expect from Osprey.

I will be traveling internationally for long durations of time. I wanted a quality backpack that I could carry on airlines and have a daypack that can clip onto the front of the backpack to help balance the weight. The videos are confusing and lead you to believe the Daylite Plus backpack can clip into the front of the Farpoint 40L. This is not the case. The Farpoint 55L comes with a day pack but it is not designed well and is much less comfortable than the Daylite Plus. Osprey's design team definitely missed the boat on this important feature and should have made their new products interchangeable with both old and new products. The backpacks are built well but would have liked to have one go to pocket on the Farpoint 40L as it lacks in organizable space.

This is my first hiking pack and it works near-perfectly for my needs. Easy to pack it with anything you might need on anything from a short, 1-2 hour hike or a daylong excursion. Very comfortable on my small frame, the weight is distributed well enough you barely notice it at time, even when cramming it full of gear. But for bigger bodies, this might not be the right pack. The storage is sufficient for my needs, but quickly you start to feel the lack of storage space. If you're making longer trips you'll find yourself wishing you supplemented it with something else or brought a larger bag. This problem is exacerbated by a lack of easy access pockets, so you have to stretch awkwardly or put the pack down to take a phone or map out of the shove-it pocket. That, and the limited space, are the reason it's not a 5 star pack. Honestly considering another one to loan out to hiking buddies, it's just so comfy and while the space can be a little lacking if you pack a lot of stuff, it pulls off it's intended niche with flying colors. Highly recommended, but if you're more of a long-distance hiker, like to pack a lot of gear or are built a little large another pack might be a better fit.

I bought this bag for an international trip. The palm foliage print is my favorite. I like the front shove it pocket for small items or snacks. The bag is well organized but unfortunately it is just a bit too small for what I need to carry with me on the plane. This is a great everyday bag and I would love to keep just for the color.

This is a great all around daypack for work, day hikes, the gym and traveling (though not as a suitcase). It's light, sturdy, very comfortable to carry, stows easily on an airplane, and has enough space to carry my laptop, books, jacket, hat and and other creature comforts. In the past I've used slightly larger packs (25 -30 liters) and though they had more room, I've found cumbersome to mange and wear. The Daylite Plus checks all the right boxes for me.

The Daylite packs are ideal for international travel. Coupled with a protective sleeve, they can hold a 13-inch laptop and any other essentials I need for an airplane carry-on, and can easily fit under an airplane seat if necessary. The pack also works well for day trips in a city or day hikes in the mountains (I've used it on numerous Colorado 14er summer climbs). I've owned both the Daylite and Daylite Plus versions, and the Plus version is worth the additional weight (and cost). The stuff pocket on the Plus is very useful for quickly stashing a rain jacket, etc when on the trail (or going through TSA at an airport). The only reason I don't give it 5-stars is due to the shoulder straps, which are not substantial enough for the volume (20L) that the pack can hold. When I have the pack fully loaded, the straps, which have next to nil padding, tend to stretch out and dig into my shoulders. Conversely, I also own a Daylite Sling pack, and the strap on that pack is wider, and thicker with more padding even though the Sling can only hold 6L in volume (see pics). Quite frankly, the strap on the Sling is overkill, and the strap construction on the two packs should be switched.

I bought this bag to use on shorter hikes or just around town. However I am also using it on a trip and it was just large enough to fit everything in. I have used a larger backpack in the past but this is much more comfortable without sacrificing function!

I love this pack. The system is perfect for day hikes or running around town. It is even suited for a light school pack. After fitting the straps and buckles, the extra webbing was a bit annoying, but stowed out of my way easily enough.

I bought the Daylite Plus a week ago, after comparing the Daylite to the Daylite Plus. The Daylite Plus' laptop pocket snuggly fits my ipad pro with case. (The ipad pro does fit in the main compartment of the Daylite but not in the reservoir pocket). So far I've used it for my to and from work bag. I also plan to use it for travel and day hiking. The storage pockets are enough room/organization without going overboard. I wasn't sure how much I would use the front "stuff it" pocket?. i use it alot!!! From sunglass case and cellphone to throwing a charger cord in it, it's a really handy feature. (A note: The pocket is pretty secure but I likely wouldn't put my phone in there while traveling or hiking). I can see shoving my gloves and hat into the stuff it pocket during the winter months. Overall a really fab bag, I'm glad I bought it.

Needed a new laptop backpack that would double as something I can use for a day bag. This one is great. I have 3 laptops in it right now and it holds them all. I'll wind up just having 2, but wanted to test the weight handling. Hip strap is meant solely to help the backpack flapping and not for load bearing. This backpack shouldn't be loaded up that much anyways. Looked at Dakine, Adidas and Northface options and fell in love with this.

Ive had this bag for over 4 years now and its been rained on, beat up, thrown over fences, down hills, been rolled on and sat on more times than i can count and theres not a single rip or tear anywhere on the bag. besides some light wear and tear on the designs and color it still looks and feels brand new.

I purchased this backpack several months ago to take on day trips/outings/adventures with my grandkids. I love the different compartments for snacks, diapers, water, tissues, wallet, sunscreen, phone and side pockets for water bottles are the perfect size. I took it with me to Colorado and several friends are now in the market for one. One friend used it when I had to sit out on one of our hikes and she can't wait to get her own. We went on a pretty difficult hike that took us about 8 hours and it performed perfectly, holding everything I needed without being cumbersome.
