Dependable!

I've had mine for 4-5 years and it keeps performing well. Mine has about 350 dives on it. It's never failed me. I'd definitely buy it again.

Great

This is a great computer. Not as bulky as I thought it was going to be. Easy to use, and easy to see underwater.

Malfunction on Dive 3

Although I purchased this dive computer in Sept 2019, because of the pandemic, I have not had a chance to dive with this computer until this weekend. I'm giving it two stars for now because, it is a nice computer, but I've docked 3 stars as I had a computer failure on my 3rd dive within 60' (20m). It was working fine down to around 55' which was our planned depth for this dive. Then looking at it a few moments later, it has reverted to Surface Interval mode at approx. 55'. As I was carrying a watch, I was tracking time, and knowing where I was, able to track depth back to the ascent line. Upon reaching 15', I made a safety stop to see if it would switch back to normal mode. After exiting the water back onto the boat, it then began showing me a notice of Too Deep, Get out!. Hoping that letting the computer sit overnight, it would reset itself, it did not. The next morning, the computer showed, "Error Altitude". I've been a dive instructor for over 28 years, so I know that everything on the computer was set up correctly, and the previous two shallow dives were registered perfectly. I've submitted a request to Oceanic to hopefully repair/replace this computer, as it is still under warranty. Let's see what happens.

Nice dive computer console

This computer replaced my previous Oceanic Pro Plus 3 console computer that sprung a leak after an out 8 years. I have used my new computer for 9 dives in Cozumel. It’s really easy and intuitive to use. The display is excellent. However it is hard to read in direct sunlight. While it is possible to increase the brightness I found that this resulted in 42% battery usage over the course of 6 one-hour long dives

Great display, user-friendly interface, and great algorithm model. I do recommended, but with some reservation.

Very user friendly interface. Easy set up, and super easy to log dives with the DiverLog Lite software. Here’s why I can’t give it a better rating though: The first was great until it froze up due to a software issue, which I promptly received a warranty replacement for (kudos to Oceanic Customer Service for that!). Mine was replaced under warranty with no cost except the shipping. The warranty unit functions perfectly with the exception that the colors appear to be less vibrant. Greens and blues appear dulled, kind of grayish. On the surface, no big deal. While diving, this lack of brightness makes seeing the display a bit tricky if the sun is reflecting off the screen, a problem I never had with my first unit. Based on the serial number, this appears to be a refurbished, older unit which may be why. I am fine with a refurbished unit, but I do expect the quality to be the same and I don’t believe this is. This is still an amazing computer and I would certainly recommend it to prospective buyers, but my experience with the differences between the two units I’ve had make it impossible for me to give this product a better rating.

No akternate QD fitting

I have not had a chance to dive with this computer yet. It appears to be an awesome piece of equipment. However, I wish I had dome more research. There is no QD fitting available that will let you attach the computer to any hose. I have been using a SS flex hose for years and am disappointed to learn that only the hard rubber hose with the QD fitting permanently attached can be used.

I love it!

Have had the computer about 1 year now. It is the easiest computer to use I have ever had. Works like your iphone-very intuitive- don't need to memorize complicated button sequences. Switching to Nitrox and planning dives takes seconds. Large screen. Normal mode shows you different numbers to look at versus gauge mode. A different way to gauge your dive. Have not used the compass yet. Love that it is re-chargeable and no batteries to replace. 99 rolling dive log with all of the dive info on one screen.

gauge turned off just several months old -- at 85 feet.

I would go with the less expensive model until all the kinks are worked out with this one. We were horribly disappointed that after a few uses and less than a year old this happened. It's a safety issue.

Compass will not stay calibrated

I've used my ProPlus X on about 20 dives and so far it is ok. The big screen and simple interface is basically foolproof. There are some drawbacks. The diverlog software is basically useless and hard to get up and running. I gave up and just went back to manually entering it into a log book. The compass is wildly inaccurate and my stop staying calibrated after about 10 dives. I checked it against a compass it's so far off that I don't even think to adjust the declination will fix it. I went back to a manual compass. Overall it's fine, but in retrospect, I'm not sure it was worth the money.

Apple sync fixed. Awesome product

I;ve had mine just over a year. Awesome product now. There was a sync issue with Apple - but that’s now fixed and it works perfect. Even uploads dive log to iOS devices over Bluetooth, I’d have given it 5 stars, except that the sync issue was there for a while. It’s an awesome product, bright and easy to read in all conditions.

Mac users will hate the Pro Plus X

I bought the Pro Plus X for the screen which is nice. However, I haven't even gotten to dive with the computer and I'm frustrated beyond belief. The only Mac software you can use to set up this computer, DiverLog won't sync using USB or Bluetooth to Mac. The iOS version connects via Bluetooth, but you can only setup your personal information for the computer using the Mac version. Windows users may have better luck. I may revise my review after I talk with Oceanic, but as of now, I'm absolutely disappointed with the lack of reliable software for setting up and logging dive data. For $1200 it should just work!

Oceanic Pro Plus X Dive Computer Review - Scuba Gear Reviews

Display with the addition of color definitely helps with readability ( we also have an Oceanic ProPlus 3 ) Seems easier to navigate thru the menus too. Like very much that it is rechargeable with a lithium battery - don?Äôt need to be worrying about battery replacements while in strange and foreign lands
