16 dives with this. I thought the max lift would be a problem but it really wasn't. 5mm with lots of wait, plus camera equipment. I love to traveling with this. I got fins to fit inside and they work really well. I'm able to fit wetsuit regulator fins in the pouch against the BCD and then a bunch of other stuff in the other compartments. The fabric is not as waterproof as it seems. I had some boat spray get inside the bag. Not that big a deal if you're aware of it. The only drawback is the materials don't seem quite as durable as I would have liked.

I just returned from my first trip with the Jetpack and it performed perfectly! This was also my first dive with a back inflate BCD and I'm a huge fan. It provided easy adjustment and low consumption of air. The dry bag if perfect for the dive boat and helps keep you gear and items sorted between dives and on the water. I was able to fit all of my dive gear including full sized TUSA fins, mask, shorty wetsuit, and full regulator set. It fit perfectly in the overhead bin of the airplane.

Easy to travel with; light. Does not have D-rings so needed to adapt some snap hooks for my camera, light, etc. I added an octo to my infiltrator deflector same as I have set up in my primary BCD to avoid changing hoses. Love the back pack, fits all gear, extras, and pockets for cell phones, keys, misc items. Performed well underwater; need to get used to where your release valves are, does not have a chest release valve as regular bcd?s do. Great option to travel light

The good: Was able to pack reg, camera with tray, 1 strobe, 1 video light, go pro + extra batteries and mounts. 3mm shorty and a lined diveskin equivalent to 2mm. Smb and reel, 2 dive computers, 2 snorkels. Traveled well and after separating the backpack/drying i used it for camera gear and basic needs walking around the resort after dives. The rest: the bcd iflator hose was installed at an awkward angle, seems flimsy, and was so overtightened that I could not rotate the nut to undo it by hand. I'm on the tall side at 6'3", and after adjusting the shoulder straps, the padding part comes out of the stowing sleeve constantly. I wish it was 2-3 inches longer. If the backpack was also a little taller, my xl scubapro go fins would have fit as well.

This is a super BCD setup. It travels well and is very versatile. I was able to pack my entire dive setup in it minus my fins. That included save-a-dive kit and first aid kit. Fully packed and completely extended out it still fit in the plane overhead compartment with ease.

Traveled with this for a week in the Florida Keys and did 14 dives over 7 days. Excellent system that performed all tasks required. The backpack held my Mares Power Plana fins, mask, snorkel, regulator and 1 mm wetsuit. It was nice to have all of my gear with me thought my travels back and forth. There are air dump cables top and bottom on the BC. After two or three times assembling the BC it becomes second nature. I did add an Atomic SS1 inflator/ octopus system. Caveat > the tank strap wasn’t threaded properly from the factory. When you get yours check it. There are numerous YouTube videos that show you how to do it properly. Highly Recommended! It’s worth it!

In short, I really enjoy this BCD and I would recommend it. This BCD has gotten me through several dives and my science diver's certification that took us into hair raising situations. I am a diver on the smaller side, s-xs, and this BCD was able to adjust to me and I find that rare. This was also my first back infiltrator BCD and I don't think I'll ever go back to jacket given how well the Jetpack preformed. The compact design of the Jetpack was perfect for some of the more crowded dives. We could have up to 15 working divers on board with their dive gear, science instruments, and safety equipment making space a premium find. The Jetpack cut out the bulk and the back pack was a nifty place to store things on deck. While driving to the dive site the Jetpack also took up less room than the gear of the other two divers in my four door sedan.

This is a great travel system. I have used it in Thailand and in closer trips to California. I even use it with a 7.5 mm semi-dry suit. The waterproof pack kept my things dry during the Thai downpours. It's also great how everything stays together and I can bring my BCD on the plane. This was a great purchase.

Just watch the video on Oceanic's web site for how to pack your gear in to the Jetpack and you can get a lot of stuff in it. Keep in mind, though, the more you pack, the heavier it gets. I leave the cummerbund straps in place and use them to help take the weight off my shoulders

Good product with clever dual-pouch back pack that allows for two backpacks to be used either separately or as one. I like to put all by scuba gear in the BCD portion of the backpack (fins clipped on the back and wearing the wettie and boots) and just travel with that. Add the external backpack and you can def. travel with all you need for a good holiday!

I waited to write my review till after I tried it out, both for air travel and as a BC. I loved it! One of my concerns was the ability to dump air, turns out if you pull the the inflator hose it acts as a top air dump, really nice and they don't mention in the features (i.e. I DID NOT have to raise my hose to let air out). Also the inflator hose comes off so you can better flush it out when you cleaning it up after the dive. As a BC it performed well and I didn't feel as constrained as I do in typical rental BCs. I always felt balanced. I did not have a problem fitting weights in the pouches, (as someone mentioned as a potential downside to the BC). My first dive I had one 5 lb and one 3 lb in each of the the front pockets and could of probably fit 5 & 5.in the front pockets. They also have trim pockets, I put 3 & 3 in the trim for the second dive and 5's in the front pocket. Could have easily fit 5's in trim pockets...but that is a little big as they aren't dump able and I didn't need all that weight. As a travel accessory it worked well, I fit all my diving gear and clothes for 4 day trip (3 nights) as a carry on and saved $25 each way by not having to check a bag. It weighed about 35 lbs when it was fully loaded but I have very heavy "vintage" aqua lung spoiler fins that fit fine. Some of the really new longer fins may not fit.. As a gear bag for the boat (semi dry once you put wet gear back in it) it worked well. The gear bag has a series of internal and external pockets. For travel, I stored my IPAD in the external pocket so I could take it out once I got on the plane. The only potential downside I saw is if you put stuff in pockets in the bc when you dive (my son-in-law caries a writable slate thing and tucks it in a pocket) There are no pockets...but that didn't bother me. Also many times people stuff the hose of their octo reg in a pocket out of harms way, but on this bc there are no pockets. The way the quick release weights are set up, I just placed the hose under the Velcro and it worked nicely.

I waited to write my review until I returned from Ecuador. First let me tell you I packed all of my gear in this but my Knife, tank and weights. Zeagle flathead 7, Octo Z, 2 wetsuits a Bare 3 mil shorty and a 3/2 full suit, mask, short travel fins, spare air 300 regulator removed but in the bag, dive tools Allen wenches and flat wrenches, dive camera small dive light battery removed but in the bag. This was my carry on bag went thru TSA several times And international Check points, fit well in overhead compartments. The only time it was checked after being thru x ray was when I was on my way home and had let my small can of DEET bug spray in the bag it was less than 3 oz but i was reminded to put it in the bag with other travel liquids. it did get heavy packing it around but that is because I had everything in it. I showed up at one dive operation and they told me they would have to charge me more so I could rent there gear as I had told them all I required was tank and weight they were amazed as I began to unpack and set up. I put 5 lbs in each of the trim pouches on the tank strap and 6 lbs in each of the front dump pouches. I did retrofit the 3/4 inch hose with a Zeagle hose and cable for use with my Octo Z. I am 5'7" 250 lbs it adjusted well fit well and provided plenty of buoyancy. If you want to travel and use your own gear this is for you. good luck and safe diving to all Steve

This BC is absolutely AMAZING. Took it to my trip to Florida and packed very well. Even with a 5mm wetsuit. After a few packing, unpacking and packing again you get just the right way of packing pertinent items for any dive trip. It sized and fit so well it felt like I wasn't wearing a BC at all. I absolutely love this system and hope that it stays around for sometime. I have to find out if you can purchase individual pieces just in case I need to purchase a shoulder strap per say, due to wear and tear instead of having to purchase the whole system. I would highly recommend this system for travelers and non travelers alike.

The Oceanic Jetpack is the ultimate solution for airline carry-on & transport to and from the dive site. It's a true hybrid, not a bag and more than just a mere BC. Oceanic took a long look at what it means to travel with scuba gear to a destination and realized quickly that it didn't make sense to take a BC, your heaviest and most bulky piece of your kit with shoulder straps, and stuff it into a bag - so you could carry it... By combining a semi-dry day bag with a one size fits all fully-adjustable travel BC, Oceanic has managed to create a travel system that can carry a complete set of dive gear (regulator's, computer, fins, suit, etc.) and travel amenities (clothing, toiletry kit, computer, etc.) easily for multi-day travel, even a week depending on how you pack... all in only one bag.
The Oceanic Jetpack is ruggedly-constructed from high-quality durable materials but weighs in at only 6.25 lbs. (2.84kg) when empty. The backpack/BC combo weighs in at a meager 8.25 lbs. (3.75kg) when empty! Fully packed with travel friendly dive gear stays under 30 lbs. (13.64kg) with ample space for the rest of the amenities you'll need for a week of diving and traveling. The spacious 2,563 cubic inches (42 cubicL) and light semi-dry bag has compartments to enable ease-of-packing and use during travel making it the perfect day bag for boat dives or shore excursions during your trip.
The Oceanic Jetpack BCD provides 30 lbs. (13.64kg) of Lift, has a 14 lbs. (6.36kg) releasable weight system and optional cylinder band trim weight with a capacity of 10 lbs. (4.55kg) of non-releasable weight. One size fit all with custom fit for everyone: Adjustable harness, cummerbund and lumbar support. The adjustable position weight pockets allow proper balance in the water. The BCD is rugged (not your typical travel materials) constructed with 1000-Denier Cordura, 420-Denier nylon urethane laminated bladder material and quick dry 800-Denier double-coated nylon.
Although Lightweight the BCD has, fully-padded shoulder straps, sternum strap and waist strap for a custom fit. The sternum, waist and shoulder straps are fully adjustable and are equipped with squeeze-style" side-release buckles. The right shoulder strap has a series of daisy-chain" loops for accessory attachment. The air cell has elastic bungee" straps that keep the back-inflation bladder low-in-profile and aid in rapped deflation.
Buoyancy control and trim while diving is easy with the Oceanic's versatile power inflator equipped with an internal pull dump cable attached to an overpressure/dump valve. An additional overpressure/dump valve, located on the lower right with pull dump cord allows easy trimming of buoyancy regardless of your diving position. The BCD comes with a 3/8" threaded low pressure quick-disconnect hose and owner's manual.
The Jetpack backpack bag has water-resistant zippers for all-compartments, Hide-Away backpack straps, laptop sleeve with easy zippered access; Full-Zipper opening main compartment provides easy access and two external zippered pockets for smart-phone, wallet, and passport. Backpack bag is made with quick dry 800-Denier double-coated nylon. Backpack has external compression straps for cinching or expanding and padded back panel for comfort on the long haul. The backpacks adjustable shoulder straps are padded and come equipped with squeeze-style" side-release buckles. The Oceanic Jetpack represents a true solution for the adventure traveler.
