WILLIAM D : Is this truly a back inflated BCD or do the air cells wrap around to let air on the side also?JOE S : This bc is a hybrid of sorts. It has an independent wing in the back. So when you are on the dive, it will keep you in a more proper trim. When on the surface, you can lean back and the air will shift to the front lobes. The side panels are not as robust as a traditional jacket style bc and much more streamlined.

Not designed for women. Size chart does not conform to womens needs. My wife is 135lbs. 5'7" and the Small is too big around the waist.

Great BCD

Very comfortable BCD with an even distribution of air for great control. Good D-ring placements to keep gear from crowding. The pockets are big but, well, BCD pockets are BCD pockets so?

Fantastic BC

I love this BC - very comfy, plenty of D-rings, great integrated weight system. Pros: *Cummerbund is depth compensating *Tons of stainless D-rings *Top dump valve is very responsive. It is good for both very minor adjustments and can totally empty the bladder from full in about 2 seconds. *Integrated weights are secure, but easy to ditch. *LP inflator is quite responsive. It can dump air into the BC quickly or let in a slow trickle, which is nice for minor adjustments. *air distributes evenly in the bladder, even when upside down. *carry handle is nice and sturdy *when fully inflated, this thing has a metric ton of lift (almost 80lbs for LG), which probably saved my life in a downwelling. It also is very entertaining at the surface, where you can get your entire torso out of the water. * Chest strap can be repositioned. Cons: * Pockets could be bigger. * A little large/heavy to travel with. Doable, but not ideal.

Be prepared not to like it.

A few days after ordering a size small Aeris Atmos BCD (which I know fits me well) LeisurePro informed me it is no longer available because Aeris sold out to Oceanic. I was assured that a size small Oceanic BCD would be exactly the same as the Aeris. It is NOT! The Oceanic has a sloppy fit. The straps have too few adjustments to make it fit properly. The double stitching on the outside is hard and stiff, making it uncomfortable to the skin. I returned the Oceanic BCD and lost money in shipping costs. Shame on LeisurePro for continuing to advertise a product as in stock when they know they no longer carry it. Bait and Switch!

The Atmos is a durably-constructed, full-featured hybrid air-cell BC. Unique, hybrid rear-inflation bladder enables air to shift," which provides maximum amount of lift and keeps you properly orientated on or below the surface. BC has 20 lbs. (9 kg) of integrated releasable weight in the Pinch & Release System and 10 lbs. (4.5 kg) non-releasable trim weight capacity. Padded back-plate features an extended lumbar support to transfer tank weight onto hips, relieving shoulder stress. Three (3) over pressure relief/pull dump valves optimize buoyancy control and trim while diving. Easy inflation/deflation with the Oceanic's versatile power inflator equipped with an internal pull dump cable attached to one of the 3 overpressure/dump valves. The BCD comes with a 3/8" threaded low pressure quick-disconnect hose.

Crucial areas of the BC are constructed of 1000D denier Cordura fabric.2 large, zippered pockets with knife mounting grommets and strategically placed D-rings allow for storage and attachment of accessory items. BCD has an adjustable depth-compensating cummerbund. Adjusting the BC to fit is made easy with the torso, sternum and waist straps all equipped with "squeeze-style" side-release buckles. BC comes with a durable cylinder cam buckle and strap for tank mounting and security. The Atmos BCD provides from 31 lbs. to 60 lbs. (14.6 kg to 27.2 kg) of lift depending on size. BC comes with an owner's manual.
