Questions & Answers

Shopper : My husband is 6’3” and 160 lbs.  Which size NeoSport XSPAN will fit him the best?darrick c : Hello, we would need the chest and waist measurements. Going by the measurement you gave us he would need a size 2XLarge.
Gage R : I'm 6ft 160 lb. Long legs. Male. Should I get a medium large or medium? I don't fit in the chart with my weightCarol R : I would get a largeNew User U : I'd suggest the ML. I'm 6ft, 175 and originally got the L but had to return it for the XL. Compared to prior wetsuits I've bought, the fit seems to run a bit small, especially in the upper arms/chest.
DENNIS P : How do you order an XL Short? It is not an option in the drop down.Mario C : This suit is not offered in Shorl or long versions. The size chart is for their entire line Neosport/Henderson.
KEVIN D : What's the difference between a jumpsuit and wetsuit?THOMAS M : Looking at the ad it is easy to see that the "jumpsuit" is a wetsuit. Wetsuits may also be two pieces, a farmer john one piece sleeveless to go underneath a fullsleeve jacket; a shorty-one piece with short legs ans sleeves.CAROL C : "Jumpsuit" is a style of wetsuit. A jumpsuit is a one-piece wetsuit with long sleeves and leg coverings. Other styles include a "shorty", "farmer john" or "jacket".
Shopper : What is the difference between xpan and neoprene 5mm wetsuit?SERGEY F : Xspan is more stretchy compare to the regular neoprene (not sure how it is done technically, a different kind of neoprene maybe...), so it is definitely easier to put on and it feels less constraining. The tradeoff, however, is warmth. I'd say it is closer to 3-4mm real neoprene suite in terms of warmth.STEVEN A : Much more flexible than standard neoprene. Great suit for the $$$.BENJAMIN S : The Xspan suit is still neoprene however it is more stretchy and comfortable than standard neopreneJAMES P : I am really not sure there is a whole lot of difference. I have been in below 70 degree water and it wasn't too bad. Pretty easy to get on and off. I personally like mine and for the price you can't beat it.

Very Limited Durability

Disappointed overall. I really did like this wetsuit and it kept me reasonably warm diving in Monterey, CA but after 10 months, a large hole ripped opened in the neoprene right under the back zipper. I take very good care of my gear and while this is definitely a lower priced item, I expected it to last at least a year. I got less than 20 dives on it before the rip happened. Now when water passes my hips, my suit floods and doesn't keep me warm.

Nice but Wasn't for Me

Nice but didn't fit well. Ordered a size 8 and it appeared to fit okay however the neck area was super tight and made me feel suffocated so I returned it. Ended up with another brand. Not sure if the 10 would have fit better I was worried it was gonna be too roomy so in the end went with a different brand but this appeared nice if you can find the sizing right.

Weak Spots at the Zipper

It fits amazing and for the price you can not beat it. Except only after 15 dives there are super thin spots at the bottom of the back zipper that will tear through in only a couple more times. Other than that a super amazing suit but for $200 I should get more than 6 months out of it.

Overall a good, less expensive option

Definitely warm and comfortable. The only question I have is how do you keep it looking new?

Small arms-Big hands

Would have given this suit 5 stars but the end of the arms are cut really tight (small). I bought a 2xl suit because I am not a small man by any means. The suit is very well made and I am sure it will suit my needs.

You get what you pay for

I am a beginner in scuba diving, this suit was the best affordable option I could find, I'm a skinny/lean, B/C cup and 5'3, it does keep me warm and fit great in arms, hips and legs but in the chest area.. my God! there's tons of room for like E/F cup breasts and even some room left for belly!! Obviously the chest and back are the most important part of your body to keep you warm, I am unsatisfied with this suit because I get cold really fast because the water gets in there because there's too much fabric :( also the knee pads lasted like 2 weeks before they started to crack, in the neck area there's velcro strip you have to be ALWAYS careful not let it land on the neoprene because it ruins it... If you really need a suit that's affordable because you are a beginner or you will use it a few times, this suit will do the job.

Couldn't Be Happier

Not everyone offers a medium/large size, which is what works for me. A medium is a little too small, a large a little too big, but the M/L is perfect. Was diving in 74 to 79 degree water on a week long liveaboard doing 5 dives a day. Started with my Neosport XSPAN 3 mm, but after a day and a half had to switch up to the 5 mm, which proved to be perfect for the rest of the week. I really like the xspan products, only time will tell what kind a life span I'll get out of them.

Not as warm as expected

This is in addition to my earlier review on fit. I wore this in Fiji (their winter) in 75 F water WITH a 2mm hooded vest. I got cold. Two years ago, I wore my Bare 5mm in water even colder and stayed warm. Of course, things change. I'm older, I got colder between dives (wind, less sun), etc. But, this suit did not keep me warm. This is still a good value and I would still recommend it depending on how cold you get and water temp. But, be advised that it might not keep you as warm as you think!

Unisex size -- XL for M/ML

After chatting with a service rep, I ordered an XL. I'm male, 5'9" 165 lbs and wear a ML wet suit. This is a good value; previous Henderson products have been fine. I bought this primarily to aid in putting on a 5 mm wetsuit, and for snorkeling.

Xspan is the correct description!

Easy to get on, easy to move around, and comfortable. Knee and elbow reinforcements appear to be minimal. That may add to the comfort.

Xspan is correct

The Xspan is comfortable, and the zipper looks to be heavy duty. The amount of stretch seems excessive and results in excessive tugging to don the suit. Once it is on it moves very easily, and comfortably. The knee and elbow reinforcements seem to be very minimal. Overall I like the Xspan, and would recommend it.

Good value

I dive in warm water, but after a few dives I start to chill and this suit keeps me fairly warm. the only drawback is the wrist and ankles are fairly tight and really don't stretch.....so difficult to get on and off

Fits as advertised

Have not yet been able to wear it in the diving environment I purchased it for (Galapagos) but it appears to well made and fits my 5'7" 145 body as advertised and I'm sure it will be what I need for the Galapagos waters and the waters here in Wyoming

Well Fitting!

Fits well, arms are a little long for me, but really not an issue. Wend diving in water below 50* F several times in this suit, and I stayed warm for an hour long dive. I plan on using this suit for waterskiing as well. Arms are a little stiff when the suit is dry, but once I have gotten in the water, they are much more comfortable and they loosen up. Great suit for the price!

Great Fit and Value! Easy to put on

I'm 5' even, and around 140# so it's hard to find any wetsuits to fit when one is vertically challenged and carrying a few extra pounds. Junior sizes just don't cut it. Based on the size table, I got a size 10 and I'm very satisfied with the purchase. It dons on easily and the length of the leg fits pretty well on me without too much bunching up (I'm around 27" inseam) The arm length is about an inch too long, no biggie, I just fold it up. Have used it on 5 dives so far and everything still looks good even after I jammed my knee into a sea urchin, no damages to the suit.
