I use this at Steelhead time when the rivers are cold and fast. I love how comfortable this belt is, and the peace of mind that I get while guiding. I feel as if I at least have a decent chance of survival should I fall. Many people have asked me where they can purchase this product, and I point them right to NRS. I have always been a fan of NRS products, as their main concern has always been safety first!

The only PFD style I've found that lets me scull my Whitehall comfortably while wearing it. I completely forget that it's there. Even my vest inflatable interfered enough that I left it under my seat instead of on my body.

I trust NRS products, and for a PFD, I really wanted one from them. This is sturdy, good quality, and has thorough instructions. I gave it only 4 stars because I haven't had a reason to inflate it, but will do a "test" inflate with the mouthpiece and report back.

Stand up paddlers and other water sports enthusiasts looking for an alternative to traditional life jackets will love the NRS Zepher Self-Inflating Personal Floatation Devise (PFD). It's lightweight, easy to wear and inflates instantly to float you high. This lightweight self-inflating PFD provides 15.5lbs (7kg) of flotation and meets U.S. Coast Guard requirements. This PFD is certified by the US Coast Guard as a Type V PFD. However, it meets Coast Guard requirements for Type III PFDs when it is worn. In other words, you have to have the pouch secured around your waist for it to qualify as a required flotation device.
The compact, adjustable rip stop nylon waist pack stays out of your way for SUP or surfing. A simple tug on the cord instantly inflates the PFD with pressurized C02 gas. Unlike many other self-inflating life jackets, the flotation chamber stays around your waist. Simply rotate the belt until the chamber faces forward, pull the inflation cord and secure the attachment strap over your head. A manual mouth valve backs up the CO2-powered inflator. The bag's clear window lets you check the inflation system for readiness. The PFD includes a 16 gram CO2 cartridge. The PFD is a universal size fitting chest sizes from 27"-50" (69-127 cm) and weighs 1.1lbs (499g). The PFD's webbing waist strap has an adjustable squeeze-style" side release buckle. The nylon bag has a small zippered pocket for storage.
