The knife is too big for my NRS Chinook Life Jacket. The top tab where you install it makes the hilt go past the pocket rendering the pocket useless. The insert points are vertical only and not 4 way on the Chinook. I should have went for the Co-Pilot. As far as the knife itself it is Titanium so should never rust. I have it zip tied to my pedal system so I at least have it in the kayak.

Very nice one piece construction. Light. Missing a star since it?s not made in the USA

So, I'm that guy. The guy who is inordinately rough on equipment. If I actually took proper care of my gear, I could likely buy any PFD knife, and have it last for decades. Yeah, right. After throwing away my 5th PFD knife, because it turned into a mass of rust. My wife, who is much smarter than me, suggested I buy this one, since titanium is all but indestructible. I gotta say, the investment was well worth it. Now I have a knife which will outlast me.

I purchased this knife to kayak fish on the saltwater flats attached to my chinook life vest. If I had to do it again I would get the co-pilot knife because it is kind of a tight fit against the pocket. The knife it self is great, the serrated section is sharp and cuts through line easily.

First day I threw this in my bag, I was laying race marks for a sailing regatta. One of our bouy anchors fouled a ghost net; evil smelling, full of dead fish, made from incredibly tough nylon cordage. The pilot knife dealt with it nicely.

Both rescue professionals and recreational boaters will really love the features of the NRS Pilot Knife. Not only does its unique design attract attention, the sheath provides convenient access and release of the knife when you need it most. This knife has great features, smooth straight and serrated cutting edges, blunt safety tip, bottle opener, etc. Compact design is a fine fit on your Personal Floatation Device (PFD). The Pilot is an excellent knife for fresh and salt water boating and rescue. For all of your cutting needs the Pilot has both super sharp straight and serrated sections along with a line cutter and glass breaker hilt. The blunt tip design protects against unintentional puncture of your gear or yourself. The knives blunt tip also doubles as a flat head screwdriver. The unique sheath firmly locks the knife in place and only lets it go when you squeeze" both sides of the release.
The knives contoured handle and rubberized grip gives you maximum control of the blade. The sheath clip attaches firmly to a PFD lash tab. Also included in the handle are a bottle opener and an oxygen tank valve wrench. The blade is made from durable and corrosion proof titanium alloy with a glass reinforced polypropylene TRP over molded handle. The sheath is manufactured from fiberglass reinforced nylon. The knives overall length is 7.38" (18.7cm), with a blade length of 3" (7.6cm) and weighs with sheath 3.5 oz. (99.2 g).
