I bought the X-Vision mask (~2.5 years ago, May 2017) because a friend told me about the replaceable lenses. Since my eyes are now aging, increasing the +diopter is now a necessary option. First, replacing the lenses IS NOT EASY. It takes about 20-30 minutes per lens, and at times it feels as if the force needed to replace the plastic rim will break that plastic rim, but, it is achievable. Underwater it is quite problematic as the diopter lenses (+2.5) are too small and too low. I have an older mask, which I still use, and I had +diopters installed on them -- they are large and are right about mid-eye, so when needed, I would just glance down. The X-Vision diopters REQUIRE greater eye movement and head movement to get the right viewing position. PAIN-in-the-ass for an u/w photographer like me! The mask also ALWAYS leaks, and I know this could be a user-born problem, but with over 800 dives and 3 prior masks which never leaked (except for hair or proper position) I know it is not the shape of my face/head, and after doing many dives to isolate the leak, I believe it is the skirt inside the mask near the temples and/or approaching the nose where water slowly seeps in. The skirt is not quite as large as on my older Atomic UltraClear with custom diopters. I also tried replacing the head-strap to no avail. Over the time I have owned the mask, I have repeatedly scrubbed it and used at least 6 different defogs, spit, shampoo, etc and I cannot get the diopters to stop fogging. I just finished a two week trip in October (2019), and after the first several days I gave up on the mask and reverted to my old mask with weaker +diopters (+2), sacrificing some ability to see macro targets in doing so. I greatly appreciate the idea of replaceable lenses, but I hated the process of replacing the original lenses with my +2.5 diopters -- the anxiety of thinking the slim, plastic retainer frame breaking made it nerve-wracking. I recommend that Mares increase the size of the poly-carbonate diopters and raise them up at least 1/4-inch, probably even 3/8". I bought the mask without trying them underwater, but that was because I believed I have a pretty regularly shaped face and head. Future buyers interested in the mask may want to try it out first to make sure it does not leak. Not sure what to recommend about the fogging issue. I did not want to try and burn the inside of the lenses out of fear the diopters would melt. I am getting a new mask. I will keep my old Atomic Ultraclear as a backup. This one will find a new home somewhere as I am tired of fighting with it and not getting a great field of view from the diopters.

A little to low in mask.

So far so good. A little too pricey but it improves my vision. However, the space between the diopter lenses and the edge of the mask leave a void which is distorted and makes binocular vision very tricky. Not perfect but it's better than without them
