CHRISTIAN A : Can this be used for a stringer or to attach to a spearfishing float. especially since the line floats. Could it replace a float line?DANIEL F : Yes for shure it id strog rope but to small i would never live a long distance of this rope free around me on my spearfishing dive go to the market end buy a 1/4"or 3/8" big nylon a lot cheeper 10$ for 100 feet and lot saferROBSON A : Yes, this is a very strong line and can be used either way.FRANK B : It is very strong line ,however the diameter of this line is not really great for what you ask. It is more like very heavy fishing line . I think it would be prone to tangling underwater without tension on it. It is mainly used for shock line for a spear gun.William S : Pretty heavy duty line so stringer and float attach will work great. Not sure I would go this heavy for a float line alone though.JOSEPH L : No. It is way to thin for floatline and would be dangerous. I wouldn't want to use it for a stinger either but it could work for that purpose. It's made for reel line because it is very thin.

Mares diamond lines are made of 100% Dyneema with woven HT polyester covering. Dyneema is an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber that is 15-times stronger than steel wire, lightweight at 7-times lighter than steel wire and floats in water. Dyneema line is water resistant hydrophobic and will not absorb water, meaning it will remain light when working underwater. This line is also chemical and UV resistant. The line is available in 1/16" (1.5mm) diameter with a 328' (100 meter) length and has a tensile strength of 400 lbs. (180 kg) or 5/64" (2.0 mm) diameter, 164' (50 meter) length and has a tensile strength of 660 lbs. (300 kg).
