Great computer and gauge package for the person who wants to set it and forget it. Downloading the data is more difficult than others we have used. You have to buy the USB puck interface to download the data.

Simple, inexpensive, does everything I need it to. I would definitely recommend this product for the average Rec diver.

Good back up puck computer. It is not that easy to use underwater so I use it as a back up and use a Mares Quad large screen wrist computer for my main dive computer.

so far im very happy with the mission puck 2. it has an easy to read display, its simple to operate and easy to maintain. scuba.com had by far the best price for this high quality computer console. the computer connection cable, on the other hand, is a price gouging rip-off! guess ill continue transferring info the old fashioned way. scuba.com customer service has never been an issue for me until this transaction and it was hands down the worst customer service experience ive had anywhere (and i thought my cable tv and cell providers were bad). the first shipment included a broken computer which was simple enough to return but the time for my shipment from the time of my first order to receiving a working produce was more than a month. customer service was ill-informed, consistently underestimated availability of the product and sometimes even totally unresponsive. half of the balance of my order was either replaced with other "upgraded" (not really) items or broken. i do a lot of online shoppingreceiving something almost every other week in the mail. scuba.com should really look into what customer service really means and train on that.

I bought this as a backup computer. It is a one-button operation so getting to settings is a little tedious as you have to go through a circular menu. Mine came with a dead battery and did not include the code for the online class. I contacted the vendor and they remedied the problems. I like more features in my primary computer but this console is good for a backup. The pressure gauge is a little hard to read as it is small.

Display is nice and easy to read. Functions are simple. Good for the diver who just wants the basics. Only issue I have had recently is when I move the computer upwards to read, it beeps because it thinks it is ascending. Once I started moving it around a lot more slowly, the beeping stops. Otherwise good computer.

It is a simple computer to use. Has the functions I was looking for and it really beats using dive tables. You get more dive time since computers constantly calculate your dive conditions instead of just using deepest depth, but they all do that. There is only one button so you do need to familiarize yourself with how to make it do what you want it to do. Read the manual then play with it for a few minutes to figure out how to get to the displays or menus you want and then its very easy to use. I usually only get to dive on vacations and computers really help maximize dive time.

I use my Mares Mission Puck 3 Computer as a back up computer. I would not recommend this as your primary dive computer. It is more difficult to read during a dive than a computer that you can wear on your wrist.

I started diving in 2009 and a friend gave me his old computer at the time. It was fine but I love this one - it's small and adds features I didn't have before: it demands a safety stop of me and then it counts down required time. I do NOT have trouble reading it but I think one might as it isn't large. I've only done one trip with it so far, which means I cannot comment on long-term reliability.

Very easy to use, does the work for you. Makes you feel so confident about your dive. Very happy with setup. The best thing I've purchased. Makes your diving experience that much enjoyable, when you see this thing in action. It gave me the confidence I needed, and knowing your not relying on someone elses setup. Great computer

I bought this computer used with two dives on it. After I put about 20 dives on it myself I started having problems with it. Sometimes it wont turn on and sometimes it will just die in the middle of a dive. I probaly just got one with a defect. Beside that it is a good computer. Very user friendly. I would probaly spend the extra money and get the Puck Air if I was going to buy another.

Mares did a great job creating a simple to use but feature-ful dive computer. If you are a rec diver and want a great computer at a reasonable price this should be on your list.

Everything worked great once I mastered the PUCK setup. All systems worked according to Mares advertising and it only took two dives to get acclimated to the PUCK readout. Pressure gauge is a pressure gauge. After second dive noted the PUCK had a scratch on the lens possibly caused by coral abrasion, have to check on a protective cover for it.

Recently returned from dive trip to the Florida Keys. The computer worked flawlessly, from shallow reef dives, to deep wreck dives (116' on Spiegel Grove). The logbook is wonderful, the screen is easy to read, and the one button function is easily operated on land or underwater. My only suggestion is to get the 3 console. Holding a compass and your guages is a pain when you can have it all in one setup.

Nice all in one console
By Steveo
I'm new to diving and this is a computer thats easy to use and easy to read.
Mares Mission Puck 2 Console consisting of the Puck computer capsule and a compact easy to read pressure gauge with a chrome plated brass body. The shock resistant elastomeric techno polymer console boot has been designed with optimized angles and shape for maximum ergonomics. The central loop hook, added to the side and frontal soft eyelets, allows flexible attachment to your gear. The Mission Puck 3 Computer Console uses Mares-Wienke RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model) algorithm. The RGBM considers the phenomenon of micro-bubbles to prevent their formation. In over 10,000 real dives monitored by Dr. Bruce Wienke in the Los Alamos laboratories, the formation of micro-bubbles has been studied and evaluated to better understand the mechanism behind how micro-bubbles are formed during a dive. Today it is the most evolved algorithm for reducing the formation of micro-bubbles without compromising dive times.
The easy excess push buttons allow the diver to operate the computer in all conditions, even when wearing thick gloves. Navigating through the computer programs is extremely simple and very intuitive. There are three special function modes of Air, Nitrox and Bottom Time. The Mission Puck 2 Console has a maximum depth display of 492' (150m), a memory capacity of 36 hours, runs on a user replaceable 3 Volt CR2450 lithium battery, power indicator, back lighting for low light conditions, has a plan mode display, can be used in both imperial or metric units, fresh or seawater settings, residual nitrogen reset, option to exclude audible alarms and uncontrolled ascents", has an ascent rate indicator and is fully altitude adjustable to 12,100' (3,700m). The Puck also has a watch, date and temperature functions. The Puck has an optional USB interface for logging dives on your PC, SKU: MRSPCNMW PC Interface.
The Puck knows that not all of us who dive are young and in peak condition, it address this with precautionary program settings that allow individual adjustment to more conservative dive profiles if needed. When you do multi-level, multiple dives during a single day or multiple dives over several days you can choose different setting levels to adjust your computer to a more conservative dive profile.
The Puck has superior display readability. To offer an easy-to-read display Mares produced a wide computer display, with intense backlighting and high contrast. The computer featuring illuminated, oversized digits. Special attention is paid to maximize the viewing angle, to eliminate angular distortion and to always grant the best readability.
The Submersible Pressure Gauge has a 0 to 5,000 psi readout with a safety reserve 500 psi color coded in red to allow the diver to know that they are low on air. The 7/16" UNF neoprene jacket double braided high-pressure hose has a 360 Degree swivel and is 36" (90cm) long. Pressure gauge has a florescent dial for easy reading in day or night diving situations. Face of pressure gauge is color coded for safe air reserve in a glance.
