Don't waste your money, these straps will break after a couple of years of use in salt water. The bungee material will wear and tear without fail.

The straps make it easy to put fins on and have plenty of tension to hold fins in place. The old fin straps I replaced were 10 years old with over a 1000 dives on them.

The mares folding buckle type straps work great when you can put your fins on while standing on a stable surface or while seated on deck before you take a giant stride but for shore entry and in water donning of your fins these work best.

Must have bungee straps for your Mares fins. It makes it easy to get your fins on but more important to get them off, especially if there is current and you are trying to climb the ladder to get back on the boat. I've had mine for >5yrs and the rubber does not crack, get hardened or loose its elasticity. Recommend any type of bungee strap to fit your type of fins.

Had an older version of Mares Excel + fins with the ABS buckle system. I was heading to Bonaire and wanted to be able to slip the fins on quickly due to the fact we were doing shore diving and was afraid rocks and waves would be harder on the ABS buckle system. The bungee straps fit these fins perfectly and made shore diving much easier for entry and exits.

I purchased the bungee design because they are more reliable than clip style straps that came with my original purchase. The clip release broke after about 50 dives. Additionally, the bungee design is easier to get into and out of while remaining secure on my foot.

But lighter. And more adjustable. That said, you do need to get the right amount of tension for the fin/boot combination. Not too loose for obvious reason, but not too tight either or it will rub. I use standard straps to get an idea of what length works...as a starting point. Then set the bungee straps and try it out. You have to take it apart to loosen or tighten. Once set, you're good to go. Light and easy on, easy off.

They are a bit tight, maybe they need to be sized for every size, not just XS/S & M/L. I'm hoping they'll stretch out a bit over time. My fins are S so I ordered the XS/S as advised. But they are easier to get the fins off before getting on the boat!

I am just back from a trip to Bonaire where I used these straps for the first time on my 23 year old Quatros. The Bungee Straps were excellent.and are much more user friendly then the original style straps that I have been using. They are simple and there is no fiddling with tightening straps when you put the fins on or loosening them when you take them off. It is one easy simple motion for both entry and exit. A couple of points: -make sure you get the correct size as there is no adjustment -I do not know anythng about how these straps will wear over time as I used them for only one week. But for every dive in that week they were Excellent. I love them!

When I ordered my new setup (BC, regs, computer) I had a little left on my budget and was going to get some spare fin straps for my 20 year old Mares Quattro fins. I saw the new Quattros come with the bungee straps and since the fins we have at my police department for our dive team have bungee straps I thought I would try and find some at Leisure Pro to order. As I suspected Mares sells the bungee straps separately so I got them. They are a little too snug but it is my understanding they will relax a little after some use. I love the easy donning and doffing! The extra tight fit is not that bothersome and if that was not the small issue that it is, I would rate 5 stars!

Bought a new pair of Mares X-Stream fins and decided to replace the straps they came with with these bungee straps. The fins are a size small (my foot size is men's 9) and they fit fine with the straps they came with. I order the bungee straps in a size xs/s to match my fin size---WAY to small--they pressed my toes into the end of the fins. I put the extenders they came with on (one for each strap) which lengthened the straps by 5/8th of an inch but still way to small. Sent them back to exchange for a size regular and hope they do the trick.

I love them. I only wish I had bought them years ago. I've always had a problem removing my fins when trying to return to the boat, especially in rough seas, These straps stay put , yet their easy to pull off. When your inline to go up the latter, your first concern is handing off your camera. Second is to quickly remove your fins so you don't hold up the line. Also the wide support at the heal is very comfortable. I recommend them.

I bought a pair of these in early June 2016. I mostly wanted them to make it easier to don and doff my Mares "Wave" open heel fins. I dive a dry suit and wear an overshoe on my feet. I also, unfortunately, have a right hand that doesn't work all that well after a "botched" surgery attempting to address both carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel in my right hand and arm. With the "stock" fin straps I found it particularly difficult to remove a fin(s) with that hand! That large loop in the middle of the Bungee Fin Strap coupled with the "bungeeness" (how's that for a word?) of the cord or strap itself did the trick in a very big way. It's now no trouble at all to install or remove my fins with either hand! And when making a beach dive, this was a BIG problem for me until I got a pair of these super fin straps! That and the fact that they're practically indestructible, I can easily say that I absolutely love these Bungee Fin Straps! (I'd use these "bad" hand or not--they're simply better than anything I've ever seen in fin straps--including the "spring" style straps. Thank You Mares!

These work great but are so tough to stretch. Buy a size bigger if you don't want to constantly fight them to stretch over your boot. A bigger size would still hold your boot in the fin. They are tough.
