Great all-around dive gear bag
Great bag to haul all my dive gear. I prefer the backpack style and find the straps to be comfortable. To test it out I managed to fit my 5mm wetsuit, 3/5mm vest, BCD, fins, gloves, and boots in the bag at one time. To date I haven't had any problem with the seams or mesh ripping, although I've only been using it for a month or so. The mesh is flexible synthetic fabric (i.e. not a more rigid plastic).
Mares mesh backpack
Great mesh pack. Fits all my dive gear: bcd, wetsuit, vest, fins, mask, boots, plus room for a dry bag and contents. What I really like is that the backpack straps are comfortable while transporting heavy wet gear. Double OK?s from this guy ????
The Mares Cruise Mesh Backpack Elite is your all-in-one dive travel bag. This bag can be packed for travel and then taken directly to the dive site, whether from the beach or boat. Durable 840D/polyurethane 2 (PU2) and polyester construction ensure durability and longevity. The extended bottom with drain holes allows for water drainage from the dive site. There is a drawstring top with barrel lock fastener for gear access and an additional padded outer pocket that is great for regulator and computer storage. The backpack straps are padded and adjustable for the perfect fit. Plus, soft grab handles allow for additional carriage as a duffel bag for quick transportation. A great feature with the Elite Mesh Bag is that it can contain itself when not in use making for great for storage between trips. The Mares Cruise Mesh Backpack Elite is a versatile and durable dive bag that every traveler should own.
Great thing about a mesh bag is that when you get to the wash tank on the dock after a day of diving you can submerge the entire bag in the tank and rinse you gear while still in the bag. This feature also allows you to bring your travel gear bag when security is an issue and once you arrive at your diving destination you can transfer you gear to the mesh bag and use it instead of getting the travel bag wet. This bag measures 15.5" x 15.5" x 29" (39.4cm x 39.4cm x 73.7cm), has a volume of 6,956 cubic inches (114 liters), and weighs 17.6 oz. (499 g) when empty.
