TA-WEI L : Hi does this work with the Dive Rite Travel EXP wing?CHARLIE L : Actually, I do have that wing...an older version before it was called the EXP...yeah, you can use this with the EXP I'm sure, since you'll just be threading the tank bands over. Not sure if the bolt-holes will line up (mine is so old it doesnt have the holes)... but surely the tank bands will keep it in place. its got those metal d-rings all over the place... kinda why I got it...so i can bungee up sidemount tanks. Best of luck!!WALTER S : Yes the Mares XR soft back plate will work with any wing that has a 11" grommet spacing.CHARLIE L : Dunno....i actually use it as a base for a sidemount setup using the xdeep stealth "butt pillow" as I've dubbed it. The mares backplate only has two holes up top and two below for bolting on a wing..so your spacing can be 12.5 inches, 11 inches, or 9 inches measuring from center hole to center hole...hope that makes sense.TOMASZ S : Yes it does no problemBRENT B : Honestly I dont know, however wing and backplate slots are standardized for the most part with the big manufacturers. It fit my wing from deep sea supply and it for my OMS Wing. The standard 11in center from hole to hole. Maybe not the answer you want but Dive rite equipment can easily be mixed and matched with many other manufacturers

Great for travel! Pair with a small wing and some 2" webbing, a few D rings and you are good to go.

Great travel backplate

I dive tropical, and I have a kydex plate, but wanted to pack even smaller, so i got this guy. I got this one over other soft backplates because it has grommets in the bottom where i like to attach my SMB. I cut 3 pounds of my setup with this plate, and a few other changes. Big plus its (soft) foldable so i can smash it into my hiking back pack when im traveling, and it will conform to whatever else I put in there with it. Only think I would not use this with a DSS wing, since the rubber STA will cause a big bump in the backplate when its attached to the tank.
