Shopper : How long is this reel?LeisurePro S : Under the blue 'select size' tab, you can choose between 100 feet of #30 line or 135 feet of #24 line.
Shopper : How does this reel latch/and or lock from free spooling?LeisurePro S : This has a locking mechanism called the CLS system. A stainless-steel thumbscrew is threaded through the frame. When you lock the reel, turn the screw counterclockwise. This presses against the inside lip of the spool.

a better reel

nicely construced reel with relatively low profile. yet easy to handle even w/ dry or wet gloves. the locking mechanism is constructed in a way that does not allow the line to get between spool and reel frame. a little bit of a draw back is that you need to turn the knob counter clock wise to lock the reel. if/when they dicover the left handed thread i will give 5 flags.

The Mini Reel is constructed with all stainless-steel hardware; the spool is machined out of one piece of UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) plastic. This plastic has one of the highest resistances to the elements, and reel is supplied with either 100' (30.5m) of #30 line or 135' (41.15m) of #24 line. The reels frame is anodized aluminum and the swivel bolt clip is made of brass for corrosion resistance. Manta Reels are individually hand crafted in the USA.
