Shopper : "what is the inseam on the 4XL"?BILL T : eleven inches
Shopper : I'm 5'9" about 177 pounds, wear size 32-33 waist pants with a 30" inseam.  I have very large thighs and wear a 42" jacket.  Do you think medium or medium large would be best?Shopper : I’m 5’9, 190 lbs. larger in the rear. I wear med for both the shorts and longer Lavacore pants. The are tight for sure but that’s what I wanted for diving.TOM D : All of the Lavacore item run extremely small. I had to go up two sizes from the chart for the shirts and THREE size for the shirts. Insane.
DOREEN S : What is the inseam in the small size? I'm 5'3", wt 115# with a 30" waist. My men's O'Neil shorts are a size med and the waist is tight.STEVE J : Can't speak for a size small, but, an X large size has a 9" inseam. I would buy a size larger than you normally wear, these run on the small side.LARRY H : I am sorry, but I do not have the small size, and I don't know if my XL would be the same. But, I thought inseam was measured from the crotch to the bottom of the shorts or pants, and I don't know how that would impact waist being tight. Maybe I'm just confused.JEFF H : I am 5'8" and typically wear a 32" waist, although a 31" would be fine usually. I ordered the small, but they were too tight, so I ended up with the medium. They fit fine. I don't have them available to measure the inseam for you, but they are the same length as my neoprene shorts and my polyester-type rash guard shorts. Fairly long but right. BTW, all the lavacore stuff takes FOREVER to dry. Love the feel, but not putting on damp shorts the next morning... I have multiple pairs of shorts for that reason (I wear them instead of a bathing suit under my wet suit for diving) Hope that helps.
Shopper : can sand get in them?BARBARA S : No, sand does not get into them.MARIO S : It's close and slim to the body and fits more to the body than slim swim wear. However if you try hard it finally gets into it. It's the perfect wear for warm water diving, easy to get on and keeps some heat to the body. Enjoy.STEVE J : If you wear them to a beach, yea sand will get in them. If you're wearing while scuba diving I doubt it.

Great shorts and truly hold up they truly hood up over the years! Don?t add extra bouyancy when dining which is a plus. Definitely an easy choice

Fit great. Provide the warmth and protection you need in the water and freedom and comfort out of the water.

The full length Lavacore shirt and pants have been a staple for me when diving. They provide excellent skin protection while providing warmth for the long durations in the water. But I wanted to try something different. Feel a little less covered up out of the water while maintaining most of the warmth and protection of the Lavacore. It worked very well. I would say the only draw back I experience during my first trip using these shorts is a scratch I received below the knee. Other than that, no complaints.

Perfect for warm water diving!!

I love that these dive shorts are easy to get on and off and have neutral buoyancy!!! No need to carry more weight to make up the difference for a short wetsuit. Perfect for diving in Belize last week. Water temp ranged from 82 to 78 F. These combined with a Lavacore short sleeve top were left. Didn't get cold at all. Buy a little larger size than you think you'll need. They will be easier to get on and off.

Lavacore Shorts

I wanted a bathing suit I could wear under my wetsuit but didn't want the look or material of a Speedo. This suit fits bill, the material is heavier, however, it is costly.

For the ultimate in warmth Lavacore's Merino Laminate lined garments are super soft yet durable. Shorts are DWR: Durable Water Repellant has flat seam construction throughout for stretch and comfort. Lavacore is neutrally buoyant so you won't need to add weight to your weight system compromising your weight comfort zone. All seams are overlapped during flat-lock sewing to ensure maximum water integrity and strength. Lavacore provides SPF 50+ sun protection and is designed and developed with your guarantee of quality.
