Questions & Answers

Shopper : Do you have the lavacore unisex pants in ML - Short?darrick c : Hello, no those are delayed by the manufacture over 30 days. That is why the size is not listed on our site.
Colin S : Im 6 foot 4 and 185lbs. My Waist & Length is 33-34. What size would you recommend?JAMES B : I would go with M/LJEFF H : I'd go with the large. Hope it's long enough; X-large too big I think...
SARAH W : I'm having problems rectifying my size using the size chart. I'm a woman and weigh ~150# (Small on chart- I am not small), 5'8" tall (medium on chart), Waist ~30 (small), hips ~40 (MEd/Lg) inseem 32-33 (MEd/large). Do I go with the Med/Lg, but if it runs small should I go with the Large?JOE S : They do run slightly small and I would go a size up if any of the attributes seem small on the chart.JEFF H : I would actually try the regular mediums first. Sounds good for your dimensions except possibly hips but they do have some stretch. I'm 5'8", 145 lbs, 32" waist and might have been able to go with the smalls although I have mediums...VINCE K : Sorry, but I had to return mine because they didn't fit!JAMES B : I bought a pair of these for a trip to Cozumel size Large Im 6'2" 275 and the had romm. These are very sterchy. The only draw back is when you frist get in the water you have to pull the waste out to let water go in or it just traps air and is bouyant. I would think the small would work they should be tight to keep the water flow dowm.HAROLD S : It appears from your question that you might be looking at the Men's sizing chart rather than the Woman's. On Woman's, 150# = Med or ML and 30 waist = Med or ML. Here's my first-hand experience. I am a male, 6'1" tall, 170 lbs, 40 chest, 32 waist, 34 inseam. Sizing chart would indicate Lg on the height and inseam, Med or ML on the other dimensions. I eventually bought separate tops and bottoms, both in Med, not ML. I bought the top at a store where I was able to try both sizes. Later I bought the bottoms from Leisure Pro. After trying them on, I decided the "snugness" of the fit was more important than the length. After wearing them on several dives, I know I made the right decision. If I had bought the ML, it wouldn't have insulated as well because it would have been slightly less snug in the fit than the Med. The Lg would have been way too loose on me, although the right length. That's why I bought the separate top and bottom - I was concerned that the shortness of a one piece would have caused some pretty heavy stress on my crotch. So, with the Med my arms and legs are a little short but the little extra skin that is exposed by this shortness has very little impact on the insulating quality, as opposed to the lesser insulating that would have occurred with a slightly looser ML. As such, my advice would be that if you are torn between two sizes, go with the smaller of the two.LARRY B : They do run very slightly small BUT they do conform to your body over time as well. I would say probably go with medium based on you meeting mainly med sizes. The only issue I had was they cut into my body slightly on the first few wears (about 5 dives) and then they conformed to me perfectly.ELISSA M : Hi Sarah, I am a woman 5'3" and was about 140 lbs when I bought the size small. They fit fine and when in the water they actually get a little larger. You are taller than me so the small might be too short for you. I would suggest the M/L instead of the L to minimize water flow. Elissa
Shopper : How do sizes work with unisex? There is no size chart. Thanks.DENISE R : At first I went with a size Large which was allowing for lots of stretch. I could get the pants on but they were uncomfortable. I exchanged it for an XL was was appropriate for the suggested waist size range and body weight. I was very comfortable in it and the stretch kept it snug on my dive trip. I really like this product and found it to be neutral as advertised, but the coating on the outside make it a little waterproof too, so be sure to let some water in to the pants and top when you dive to get rid of any air in the suit like you would for a wet suit. On my first dive I didn't do that and I just couldn't descend. Since it is a newer product, no one on the boat could help me until I figured that out. Good luck! For the Lavacore sizing chart you can do an internet search to find their product site and recommendations via Oceanic.JOSEPH G : I am 6'2, 200 lbs and the large fit me perfectly.DEBORAH K : I wondered the same thing...got a small and it fits. Quite snug, like yoga pants, but comfortable. Length was a ltitle short. For reference I'm 5'7", 125lbs.
HETTIE L : what weight are the lavacore pants/wetsuits...how much exposure protection?JOSHUA S : The lavacore suits are lightweight, elastic and very comfortable. In terms of exposure protection I've heard them called the equivalent of a 1.5-2mm wetsuit. They are fantastic in 70 degree water and keep you nice and warm even under the thermocline. In colder water you can simply put them on under your wetsuit and it adds about 2-2.5mm worth of exposure protection without the additional weight or loss of mobility. The only qualm I have with mine are that you really have to watch the velcro on your BC when you're wearing them because they snag and fray the top layer of the suit.

Awesome!

Great pants! Easy to pull on and off and worked well as a layer under my shorty. They added a much needed layer of warmth in Bonaire and also protected my legs during shore entry and exits. The fleece lining is great and the pants dried out each afternoon before the next day?s dives. All of my crew wanted a pair of their own!

perfect fit

After trying a few different sizes and different brand. This one is perfect fit. I got the Large size and I am 5-11 185-190 lbs. It's serves double purpose as inner suit for drysuit diving and 3mm suit for warm water diving. I have yet to try it as a 3mm suit with the top, but as inner suit under drysuit this one is very comfortable Best of all very light!

These are great!

I've worn these twice. They are wonderful. Cozy and fuzzy. The first day I was snorkeling for 2 hours- usually I would get cold in that time- even though in Belize in summer. These kept me the right temperature. They fit nicely. I wear a woman's size 12 or Levis 32 or 33 waist. My male partner who wears a 32 waist tried them too- and he's going to buy a pair.
