Sola focus lights are absolutely necessary for doing photography in the low vis water of the Eastern Pacific. We've been using Sola lights for 5 years, starting with the Sola 600 that we bought used from a friend when he upgraded to the 1200. My husband and I each use a Sola 1200, keeping the 600 as a backup. The 1200 lights are durable, reliable, and are still working after 450 - 500 dives, I'd estimate. The red function is invaluable for getting close to photograph skittish fish, crabs, and micro-crustaceans. The only time we had a repair issue was when our Sola 600 conked out after a zillion dives by 2 owners. Light & Motion repaired it promptly for no charge. Great service.

I love this light. I debated based on price but the small size easy charging (no batteries) and the great varied light ability......love it! I can stealth prep for photo on night dives with the red light or use for my primary and video. It is awesome!
