i use around the house and at night to i walk our dog. i got tired of changing batteries on my terrestrial flashlight! the discounted price made this a very attractive alternative. i already have the wall charger so whenever green light for a full charge changes to next colorred i thinki plug into a wall outlet for a couple of hours or less. i also have a gobe 850 that i use for u/w photography so i give the 500 a strong recommendation.

Nice and bright, terrible instructions

The light has three brightness levels, and can also flash. The brightest is quite bright, and the dimmest is still bright enough to be useful on a night dive. Usability is impacted by the simplicity of controls. It has only one switch, and one led, which makes understanding what the led is conveying a bit confusing, and how to use the switch is confusing as well. A long hold on the switch to turn it off, unless it's off, where a long hold switches it on, but only in flashing mode and/or dim. LED is three colors, and flashes sometimes, but exactly what they all mean is dependent on what mode it's in and whether it's charging. All this would be totally understandable if the instructions included words, but it's all in pictograms, which requires a bit of studying to understand. All in all it's a nice compact light, and usable enough.

Dive light

The best light I ever had. It's light weight, bright, & recargable. Recamend string thinker & stronger. A crab took it from me by breaking the string. I got it back & put a stronger string on it.
